[ When you head to the location of Yuri's GPS ping from yesterday's network post, you'll find a rented-out little karaoke bar with MAID FOR YOU written on a handmade banner that is temporarily covering the bar's normal name, decorated in pink and black on the inside, with a lot of cute little two-chair tables taking up most of the floor space. There are rooms in the back that would normally be for singing karaoke in private, and singing with a maid is indeed one of the things you can do with those rooms today!

The real draw, though, is all of the very cute folks dressed as maids and/or butlers today, who will — for a small fee — wait on you personally. ♥

Take a menu, select a maid, and place your orders... or just ask Yuri what all the commotion's about, he'll be happy to explain! ]


((ooc: Maid cafe fundraiser! Don't worry too much about the coins your character is spending here, nothing is too expensive (though the black menu items are at a premium), we're all just here for the CR.

PLEASE NOTE: Yuri does feel personally responsible for the safety and comfort of all the Official Maids who are trying to help him raise funds here, so he will be actively trying to curb anyone bullying their friends into signing up, and he really doesn't want anyone working for him to be wearing or doing anything that makes them uncomfortable. Adult characters who only want to wear pink ribbons? Characters who want a full coverage maid outfit, or who want to be butlers instead? Excellent exercising of your boundaries, Yuri loves that for you.

You can, however, definitely pay for the "dress up as maid or butler" menu item and use that to bully your friends to your hearts' content. 😉))

Still, it is something Nen is doing and she wants to see them so of course she comes. She finds them quickly, dressed in a butler's uniform, and she's glad she wore her formal clothes. )

[To anyone who knows him well enough, the reason Chipp even came at all should be obvious - or, well, reasons. Multiple.
Because while yes, it's mostly to make sure the whole thing's on the up-and-up thanks to Nenonen's involvement... he also just wanted to come see them doing something like working for a fundraiser. Just the idea of it means it must be something important to them, so of course he'd be here to support them.
(And that first reason is immediately soothed seeing them wearing pants, honestly. Sorry, he's fussy.)

He's not wearing anything special, himself, not even his helmet - but that's fine. By the time Nen's made it to his tableside, they should be able to tell he's smiling anyway.]

[ Chipp might not be the best at gauging what's on a person's face (especially someone like Nenonen, who very rarely wears anything other than "neutral"), but there's definitely something different about the way Nen looks at him when Chipp not only shows up, but does so helmet-less. With a smile. It's a tiny, crooked, awkward thing--but it makes Nenonen stand up taller, hold the menu in their hands tighter, and there's a restless sort of energy to them despite the fact that they hold perfectly still.

[ Nen says that in an enthusiastic little hushed whisper as well before straightening up, giving him a bow they practised very hard for today, and hurrying back to the kitchens.

Thankfully the cake comes pre-made (fresh that morning!) and the cards are easy to procure. Those get places inside their pocket while the cake is plated, and within a few minutes Nen returns with plate held carefully into two hands.

A crash course does not a fancy waiter capable of carrying everything on one arm make. ]

Thank you for waiting, sir. Here is your cake...

Also, it's extra-interesting to meet her in person because now Nen is familiar with her older brother too. This is their first time meeting siblings who aren't twins. ]

The only ones I will not be proficient at are "cards" and "karaoke." I do not know any card games. Also I was told I am tone deaf.

I wouldn't want to force you to do anything you wouldn't like or have little confidence in, so I will mentally scratch those off. Out of the rest, I'd likely be more comfortable with conversation, or perhaps hair brushing or braiding wouldn't be too intrusive?
