[ When you head to the location of Yuri's GPS ping from yesterday's network post, you'll find a rented-out little karaoke bar with MAID FOR YOU written on a handmade banner that is temporarily covering the bar's normal name, decorated in pink and black on the inside, with a lot of cute little two-chair tables taking up most of the floor space. There are rooms in the back that would normally be for singing karaoke in private, and singing with a maid is indeed one of the things you can do with those rooms today!

The real draw, though, is all of the very cute folks dressed as maids and/or butlers today, who will — for a small fee — wait on you personally. ♥

Take a menu, select a maid, and place your orders... or just ask Yuri what all the commotion's about, he'll be happy to explain! ]


((ooc: Maid cafe fundraiser! Don't worry too much about the coins your character is spending here, nothing is too expensive (though the black menu items are at a premium), we're all just here for the CR.

PLEASE NOTE: Yuri does feel personally responsible for the safety and comfort of all the Official Maids who are trying to help him raise funds here, so he will be actively trying to curb anyone bullying their friends into signing up, and he really doesn't want anyone working for him to be wearing or doing anything that makes them uncomfortable. Adult characters who only want to wear pink ribbons? Characters who want a full coverage maid outfit, or who want to be butlers instead? Excellent exercising of your boundaries, Yuri loves that for you.

You can, however, definitely pay for the "dress up as maid or butler" menu item and use that to bully your friends to your hearts' content. 😉))

Why would you think I'd turn into a rock? { his lips curve into a small smile } I hold hands with someone daily, though if you've been struggling to find time for the aid, I'd be happy to help.

[ It isn't that Nen doesn't believe him or anything...they are just endlessly curious. Ayato is one of the few people they don't have physical contact with of some kind on a regular basis with, so Nen sort or assumed he might...need it. It's good to hear that he holds hands with someone! But now Nen is Intrigued^TM. ]

I have never tried mochi before. Is it very sweet?

I live with my sister and our personal retainer lives next door. I haven't had any issues since I arrived. { and after he says this, he realises nen likely doesn't know what a retainer is--maybe mochi will save them both from that conversation. }

Not overly sweet, but enough that it tends to taste good. We can have something sweeter to drink if you'd like?

[ Thankfully for him, Nen's duty as a butler takes precedence over their personal curiosity. Ayato mentions drinks, and Nen flows seamlessly into the script Yuri taught them: ]

We have a number of sweet beverages you may enjoy. Our most popular drink today is the iced macha, but I can also recommend our milk teas. Coffee can be made into lattes and mochas upon request.

...I have not had any of those, but people seem to enjoy them when they drink it.

Would you like to have one of them? { he's being overly generous today, apparently. } I think I'll try a matcha flavoured coffee in that case. I've not tried a latte before, so perhaps in that style? I quite enjoyed the mocha I tried before, but something different would be more pleasing.

[ Very new! But also kind of fun. They get to try something new, practice a new skill, and help Yuri with BVE. A three-in-one! The new clothes are a fun treat too, Nen really needs to go clothes shopping with Ayato outside of a psl ]

[ And then Nen is off!! Since it's just drinks & some mochi (which has been pre-preared) it won't take as long as cook food, so within five to six minutes Nen will return with tray in hand. There's none of the fancy flourish where they balance it in one hand or anything; Nen carries it carefully with two hands, setting it down on the table before they serve up the two drinks and set the small plate of mochi in front of him. ]

Here you are sir. One macha latte and one order of mochi. Please enjoy!

[ --and then of course, Nen plunks themself down in the seat next to him and serves up their own latte. ]

ayato waits quietly as nen goes off to get their order. they seem to keep their balance fairly well, and really he's glad nen doesn't try and do fancy balancing. he knows how noodle-y nen's arms are. }

Hmm, indeed. Coffee is still taking some getting used to, but the flavouring of the matcha works well with it.

{ ah, nen really is going all out with this, aren't they? he'll give a smile in return, hands still keeping warm around the cup in his hands, then leans to take a bite of it. he doesn't take the entire thing, if only because he had only ordered one portion to share.

Once. I tried 'mocha', which was rather interesting. I much prefer tea, even with the matcha in this.

It is...

[ --Oops. Nen tried to speak with their mouth full without thinking, and quickly stops once they remember. They even hold a hand in front of their mouth! Nen's not embarrassed, but it feels like the right thing to do. ]

--My apologies, esteemed customer. I forgot my manners. The mochi is very...chewy. And sweet. It feels weird when I swallow it, but... It is good.

Not to worry. I'm glad you are enjoying it, at least. It's rather different to many other sweets I've tried here.

Have you tried ice cream and donuts? Or crapes? I like those ones.

[ Yes, Nen ate dairy knowing that dairy did not sit well with them. It was like 70% worth it for the suffering they endured later. Pain doesn't hit Nen the same way it does most people, so it's just...you know. The puking and stuff they have to deal with. ]

I also like to dissolve cookies in oat milk until they are all mushy.

I've tried ice cream, though I don't recall trying donuts yet. I'll have to see if I can find some another time. I can't say I've tried the combination of cookies and oat milk either. Is it the texture that you like?

[ vanilla ice cream is just so good... Although Chipp and Shigeru ave been showing Nen dairy-free ice cream, and that's been much easier-to-digest. All gain, zero pain! ]

Hmm... I think crunchy textures are more fun to eat, but I don't mind mushy food either. It's just easier for me to digest. I think my favourite is super-thick peanut butter smoothies! We don't have them on the menu here, but if we did, I would recommend it to you.

Peanut butter is delicious.

[ It's the most important knowledge, tbh. The very first knowledge any thought to instill in Nenonen, actually. Nen met Chipp, and five minutes later they were headed to pizza and ice cream. ]

Really?? You need to try one! After the cafe, we should go get one. I know a really good smoothie place. It serves my very favourite.
