[ When you head to the location of Yuri's GPS ping from yesterday's network post, you'll find a rented-out little karaoke bar with MAID FOR YOU written on a handmade banner that is temporarily covering the bar's normal name, decorated in pink and black on the inside, with a lot of cute little two-chair tables taking up most of the floor space. There are rooms in the back that would normally be for singing karaoke in private, and singing with a maid is indeed one of the things you can do with those rooms today!

The real draw, though, is all of the very cute folks dressed as maids and/or butlers today, who will — for a small fee — wait on you personally. ♥

Take a menu, select a maid, and place your orders... or just ask Yuri what all the commotion's about, he'll be happy to explain! ]


((ooc: Maid cafe fundraiser! Don't worry too much about the coins your character is spending here, nothing is too expensive (though the black menu items are at a premium), we're all just here for the CR.

PLEASE NOTE: Yuri does feel personally responsible for the safety and comfort of all the Official Maids who are trying to help him raise funds here, so he will be actively trying to curb anyone bullying their friends into signing up, and he really doesn't want anyone working for him to be wearing or doing anything that makes them uncomfortable. Adult characters who only want to wear pink ribbons? Characters who want a full coverage maid outfit, or who want to be butlers instead? Excellent exercising of your boundaries, Yuri loves that for you.

You can, however, definitely pay for the "dress up as maid or butler" menu item and use that to bully your friends to your hearts' content. 😉))

Nen looks doubly pleased at that prospect, especially when Ayato fusses not about being hand-fed and seems to approve of the flavour. ]

Once. I tried 'mocha', which was rather interesting. I much prefer tea, even with the matcha in this.

It is...

[ --Oops. Nen tried to speak with their mouth full without thinking, and quickly stops once they remember. They even hold a hand in front of their mouth! Nen's not embarrassed, but it feels like the right thing to do. ]

--My apologies, esteemed customer. I forgot my manners. The mochi is very...chewy. And sweet. It feels weird when I swallow it, but... It is good.

Not to worry. I'm glad you are enjoying it, at least. It's rather different to many other sweets I've tried here.

Have you tried ice cream and donuts? Or crapes? I like those ones.

[ Yes, Nen ate dairy knowing that dairy did not sit well with them. It was like 70% worth it for the suffering they endured later. Pain doesn't hit Nen the same way it does most people, so it's just...you know. The puking and stuff they have to deal with. ]

I also like to dissolve cookies in oat milk until they are all mushy.

I've tried ice cream, though I don't recall trying donuts yet. I'll have to see if I can find some another time. I can't say I've tried the combination of cookies and oat milk either. Is it the texture that you like?

[ vanilla ice cream is just so good... Although Chipp and Shigeru ave been showing Nen dairy-free ice cream, and that's been much easier-to-digest. All gain, zero pain! ]

Hmm... I think crunchy textures are more fun to eat, but I don't mind mushy food either. It's just easier for me to digest. I think my favourite is super-thick peanut butter smoothies! We don't have them on the menu here, but if we did, I would recommend it to you.

Peanut butter is delicious.

I believe the only time I've had peanut butter is when you introduced me to crepes.

[ It's the most important knowledge, tbh. The very first knowledge any thought to instill in Nenonen, actually. Nen met Chipp, and five minutes later they were headed to pizza and ice cream. ]

Really?? You need to try one! After the cafe, we should go get one. I know a really good smoothie place. It serves my very favourite.

Considering you're likely going to be very tired after all of this, we can arrange it for another day. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

[ ...That is a good point. Nen's going to be exhausted by the time the day's over. Chipp will probably wind up carrying them home on his back. ]

That sounds fine to me, after all I ordered them to share. Is there an even split of flavours or are they all different?

[ He is the BEST husband and he really just needs to accept that TBH. ]

I think they are three flavours, so two of each. They're sorted by color--we had the pink ones, so now there are white and green left.

They poke one with the same toothpick and hold out Ayato's for him first. He is the paying customer, after all. ]

{ he'll lean to take a bite again, this time letting his hand move to gently take the toothpick from nen's hand since he doesn't want to try and eat it all in one go. it's an interesting flavour, vanilla isn't exactly a common one to have for mochi. }

[ Nen surrenders it without protest, pleased to see Ayato look as though he's enjoying it. Today is all about customer satisfaction after all! They want to make sure everyone they invited has a good time.

With his piece given, Nen takes a new toothpick and grabs a piece for themself, also taking smaller bites; just to make sure it's really chewed down before they swallow it. ]

It's nice...but not too sweet. I can really taste the vanilla.

It does have a milder taste than the strawberry did, certainly.

I like the vanilla best. It's the first flavour I got to try when I arrived.

[ And thus, Nen's favourite of any 'sweet' flavour. Peanut butter still reigns supreme though. ]

Oh? I can see why it would have nostalgia associated with it then. Have you tried matcha before? This one is likely going to be the closest to the mochi I'm used to back home.

I tried some of the matcha with Ayaka when she visited earlier. We had matcha tea though, not the mochi. It was a little bitter, but not as bad as coffee.

Me too. Although not too sweet. I need to watch my glucose levels.

Peanut butter is great because it is not high in sugar, but it still taste a little sweet.

I believe you can likely get peanut versions of mochi too?

Because my blood is made up of a substance known as Essence, it is more viscous than normal; this leaves me at a higher risk for blood clotting and stroke. I take blood thinners to help manage it, but it means I must also be careful to mind my glucose levels as it is more easy for me to develop hyperglycemia--which is too much glucose in the blood. This also puts me at a high risk for strokes and other medical complications.

But do not worry, I am careful to manage my health. I have had lots of practice.
