[ When you head to the location of Yuri's GPS ping from yesterday's network post, you'll find a rented-out little karaoke bar with MAID FOR YOU written on a handmade banner that is temporarily covering the bar's normal name, decorated in pink and black on the inside, with a lot of cute little two-chair tables taking up most of the floor space. There are rooms in the back that would normally be for singing karaoke in private, and singing with a maid is indeed one of the things you can do with those rooms today!

The real draw, though, is all of the very cute folks dressed as maids and/or butlers today, who will — for a small fee — wait on you personally. ♥

Take a menu, select a maid, and place your orders... or just ask Yuri what all the commotion's about, he'll be happy to explain! ]


((ooc: Maid cafe fundraiser! Don't worry too much about the coins your character is spending here, nothing is too expensive (though the black menu items are at a premium), we're all just here for the CR.

PLEASE NOTE: Yuri does feel personally responsible for the safety and comfort of all the Official Maids who are trying to help him raise funds here, so he will be actively trying to curb anyone bullying their friends into signing up, and he really doesn't want anyone working for him to be wearing or doing anything that makes them uncomfortable. Adult characters who only want to wear pink ribbons? Characters who want a full coverage maid outfit, or who want to be butlers instead? Excellent exercising of your boundaries, Yuri loves that for you.

You can, however, definitely pay for the "dress up as maid or butler" menu item and use that to bully your friends to your hearts' content. 😉))

[ Absolutely, 100%. All friends choke and sputter when they see their other friends in cute butler outfits. Nenonen will definitely not brighten up at the sight of him either, maybe even the corners of their mouth lifting higher? Than normal? And the definitely don;t sound excited when they see him either. ]

[Oh, don’t worry, Nen. Yuuto is probably very aware that Yuri is here. He’s smitten. He expected to maybe enjoy some of the thrill of an unrequited love in that regard.

He wasn’t ready for Nen to fluster him this way.

But Yuuto doesn’t protest Nen leaning into his space. He makes plenty of room so they can be comfortable, but otherwise makes no move to stop them. Being able to hang out for a bit makes him happy too, even if he’s worried about taking Nen’s attention away from a fun job… hopefully they aren’t going too far out of their way to be with him, when they clearly have more interesting people to see and things to do.]

Hahaha… I-I did tell you that I’m a skilled magician. [Who is shyly trying to meet Nen’s gaze, even as he’s blushing.] A guild..? Like for adventuring heroes? Are you joining?

I am! But I will not be going on any dangerous adventures.

[ Nen declares it proudly, tucking their feet beneath the bench and hooking them at the ankles. ]

My aptitude for physical activity is poor and I do not yet have enough stamina to engage in combat. So I will be helping at the headquarters.

[ Adventuring: Know Your Limit, Play Within it. One exploded fish all over them and Nen knew: they were not a fighter.

Besides, stuff like this is much more interesting to them. What could be more fun than spending time with a friend? Especially a friend like Yuuto. ]

[He’s relieved to hear it. As much as Yuuto is fine pushing himself, that’s because he‘a an idiot who doesn’t value his own health or safety. Not when he gets money for Tau out of it.

[ Technically, if it's what Yuuto wants then it's within the bounds of their work. Sharing food isn't technically on the menu, but Nenonen doesn't see any reason to refuse it. They've shared plenty of food with Yuuto by now. ]

I want to share something you want then.

[ In part because he is the customer, but also...because Nen wants to do that for him. Choosing what someone wants is important--it always makes Nen feel bigger somehow when Chipp encourages them to make up their own mind. They want to make Yuuto feel like that too.

Especially after the bridge. ]

None of our dishes here today have peanut butter, but... Hmm. [ Nen thinks for a second ] I recommend the "chocolate moose." It is actually just chocolate though. It contains neither megafauna nor meat.

[When Nen says there are no peanut butter items on the menu, Yuuto about dies right there. Then he can’t pick Nen’s favorite? He has to pick his own? But he has no favorite. He can’t. Because there was no ‘Yuuto’ before, so he has no one to copy. There’s no ‘right’ answer in this world, so it can only be filled with ‘wrong’ ones…

But before he can truly spiral into an internalized meltdown, Nen goes and clarifies what the ‘moose’ means… and Yuuto, despite knowing it is very rude of him, can’t help but giggle. The anxiety spiral unravels without choking him.]

Good to know. Thank you, Nen… Mm. I’ll try that one. Two spoons, okay? So we can share?

[ The giggle is new. It almost sounds like a laugh--Nen has gotten two of those to date, and this would make the third. Did they say something...funny? And it made him laugh?

As long as it does not have milk in it. The researchers at the institute told me that I am "lactose intolerant." So I should not have anything with lactose.

[ Matcha ice tea should be fine though, there is zero dairy or lactose in that. ]

I do not typically experience any adverse reactions to teas, unless it is milk tea.

I threw up, but I am fine now. I always supplement my diet for foods I cannot keep down, remember?

I really enjoyed the taste. I want to create a "crape smoothie" someday.

[ It should also be said that Nen has been willing to eat milk and dairy products several times despite learning they are intolerant of it. Sometimes a new experience or flavour is just...worth it. ]

I have had plenty of time to mind my health. I think it is worth it to try something new. I did not know there were so many flavours in food before I came to Ellipsa.

[ That same almost-smile is there, probably the closest it's ever been to the real thing. Yuuto gets those, now. ]

[Yuuto leans forward just slightly. He's still shy. And he understands where Nen is coming from. When he argues against it, Yuuto isn't trying to deny why Nen would want to try other foods. He's looking for a compromise.]

Anytime you want to try something with dairy, um... L-Let me know! Let me know, and I'll research how to replicate it in a way that won't make you sick. You should be allowed to enjoy life, Nen!

[ Nen shouldn't be surprised at this point. Yuuto has done so much for them by this point that it should be obvious he'd want to. Yuuto works harder to please Nen than nearly everyone they know. He would probably actually bend himself over backwards for them if Nen asked.

...That would look funny. Maybe Nen should ask if he can do that, sometime.

For now though, Nen just grabs his face with both hands and almost-smiles at him. ]
