[Cameras aren’t a strange thing for E’kayan, but he certainly wouldn’t call himself anything close to an expert when it comes to photography. Still, this seemed easy enough, and he could get a little adventuring done in the meantime… Win win?
He sits outside the winter guild with a map loaded onto his phone, humming to himself as he slides his finger across the screen and searches for a good spot to begin.]
Maybe I should ask Erenville… [The Miqo’te mutters out loud, one of his ears giving a brief flick.] He’d know the best places to go.
Gone Octofishin' [GATHERER]
Bundled up warmly and with a companion invited, he makes his way out to the Half-Frozen Lake and sets up somewhere along the river, full prepared and more than happy to share his supplies and snacks with whoever came along. It could be a friend, or just somebody that he picked up at the quest board - E’kayan is gregarious enough to simply invite a stranger along - but either way, the young Miqo’te looks entirely at ease as he stretches his legs out in front of him and keeps a light hand on his fishing rod.]
I really should get out and do this kind of thing more often. [He comments mildly.] Falling in the river isn’t as off-putting as it seems once you’ve done it a few times.
Your Books Are Overdue
… And why does the idea of books stealing people’s souls feel so familiar, somehow? Surely he’s not come across something like that before.
He arrives at the abandoned library to find it eerily quiet. Everyone who has been able to get out already has, and those who remained, outside of people here to deal with this problem, are… well…
E’kayan jumps as he rounds a corner and finds a person sitting in a chair with their eyes fixed on a book and their expression slack and blank-faced. He waves his hand between their face and the pages but doesn’t try to touch them, instead looking to his companion with a quizzical expression and his ears slightly pinned back.]
You know what? I do not like that.
[Spooky.]
Should… we start looking, or do something about this first?
Wildcard
🐈 Find him at the winter guild hall (mostly practicing healing magic and alchemy, please don’t look at his notes they are terrifying), or trying to improve his archery and firearm marksmanship
🐈 Trip over him in far flung places, including places under water where he does not seem to have any kind of breathing aid
🐈 See him wandering around in the Botanical Gardens
🐈 Come across him out riding his black chocobo (or taking a break while it does squats. Don't ask.)

[It isn't that he's never seen a gunblade before. He's seen plenty of them and most of the time they were being aimed directly at his head. Or his friend's heads. Or their backs.
He fumbles a bit with the sleek weapon that Hades had handed over to him and works his hands around it, trying to remember how Thancred always wields his with such ease-...
But he's not Thancred. He shouldn't even try to pretend to be.
E'kayan manages to settle the thing in both hands, looking down at it. It's... lovely, really, as far as gunblades go.]
