I Am Cow, Hear Me Moo

[Of all the animals to end up corrupted by the Darkness, cows were not one that Diluc expected to have to tackle. He stays back at first, unaccustomed to dealing with livestock and just observing how they move and herd together in spite of their… condition, but there is really only so long that one can hang around watching peculiarly buff cows meandering around a field.]

I expect they will become aggressive when approached. [He says thoughtfully to his companion, shifting his claymore off his back and into one hand. Without showing off, he holds the heavy weapon as if it weighs nothing more than a standard longsword.]

… I feel ridiculous.

[Diluc is in the shape of a vibrantly red fox with a bushy tail, and he wriggles slightly uncomfortably under the weight of the pack secured to his back as he sits and waits for whoever is accompanying him on this particular mission to be ready.

His tail swishes back and forth slowly, paws digging a little into the ground, and he tries to keep his mind focused through all the different smells and sounds rushing in through his heightened senses.]

Are you ready? The sooner we can get this over with the better.

[As if he does not enjoy being a fox now and then.

(He absolutely does.)]

Bug Catcher

[In truth he isn’t intended to take on this particular quest at all, but as he’s making his way through the city one late evening and all of the lights around him suddenly go out - to the startled shouts of several nearby Ellipsans - he’s immediately on guard.

So, call him paranoid. Sometimes power cuts happen, right?

The source of the problem, once pointed out to him, seems to be a simple one to fix. And yet… one cannot simply go about setting power poles on fire to rid them of a pest. … Right?

(He might be thinking about it.)

Given that the problem isn’t presenting an immediate danger, save for the dark, he takes his time to think about it as he observes a few of the troublesome insects coiling their way around the top of a transformer box.]

I don’t suppose they’d come down if I asked them nicely.
