[ Is this pulling yourself together??? ]

[ Finding himself lip-to-lip with his roommate feels very much the opposite of that. ]

[ He's well aware that there is... something. Between himself and Kaveh. That neither of them address because it's paired with all sorts of complications built up over time, leading to this weird roommate-fighting-friend thing. And while addressing it is an inevitability, this isn't the way he wants to. He wants a clear, logical talk between them that will iron out all the wrinkles between them. ]

[ Romantic, he knows. ]

[ It's... nice, knowing that some part of Kaveh's subconcious had an interest in him, and it's very nice kissing him with this damn sensation enhancement that's affecting them both, so he hooks his arm around Kaveh's waist... ]

[ And promptly moves to throw the man up over one shoulder, intent on carrying him like a sack of potatoes in spite of the pleasant jolts that spikes through his arm and shoulder at the touch. ]

I'm putting you to bed. Or a cold shower. Your choice.

[ Truly, a romantic at work. ]
rudementary: (My laces kept getting untied.)

Cold shower it is.

[ Sorry Kaveh for your earnest attempt and also terrible taste because Alhaitham Will No Longer Be Swayed in his task of getting Kaveh back in his right state of mind. He swaps directions from heading to Kaveh's bedroom and instead for the shower, keeping a firm arm across Kaveh's legs to keep him in place in case he starts adding kicks into his protests. ]

[ At least he doesn't just dump Kaveh on his ass into the shower, but he does set him down pretty abruptly, taking a slow breath of relief as the physical contact is broken and he can start feeling his head clearing immediately. He does still feel good, the aftereffects of that 'boost' lingering in his system, but the headache from dealing with the equivalent of a drunk Kaveh is
a whole other kind of tiring. ]

Come out after you've cooled your head.
rudementary: (Hiddens gems among treasures.)

[ Alhaitham's easy to find, leaned against the wall opposite the bathroom as he is, a towel over one shoulder and a book in hand (because of course). He'd been more than ready to deal with a rowdy Kaveh ready to fight his way out of the bathroom, so it was a pleasant surprise that the other man had actually taken a shower as he'd told him to. ]

[ Snapping the book shut and tuck it away, he looks over Kaveh clinically. ]

Better. There was merit to your earlier information about energy levels.

How's your head now?
rudementary: (Suffused in me quietly.)

[personal profile] rudementary 2023-03-12 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
[ He seems to have moved on from a book about the Autumn segment to the Spring segment now. ]

It is. We'll have to experiment with what would be the optimal method for keeping our bodies taken care of.

[ When the book is out of his hands, Kaveh will find a towel unceremoniously dropped over his head, followed by Alhaitham's hands ruffling the towel against his hair. ]

Later. I wanted to verify your condition first.
rudementary: (This feeling makes me new.)

[personal profile] rudementary 2023-03-12 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
[ Alhaitham's hands are pushed away without much force, but that also means by the team Kaveh pulls the towel off his head, he'll be face-to-sort-of-face with. Well. This. ]

I picked this up for your room. To remind you of Sumeru.
rudementary: (Did we lose our memories?)

[personal profile] rudementary 2023-03-12 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Internally, there's some relief that the effects of their contact wasn't some sort of long-lasting or permanent chance, given how passionately Kaveh was reacting to the piece of decor he'd found. This was the Kaveh he was accustomed to. ]

[ Externally, he continues to hold a completely forced thoughtful expression, one Kaveh will undoubtedly recognize as Alhaitham being an ass. ]

It reminded me of the expressions you would make at the Akademiya.
rudementary: (A keen sharp edge in my blood.)

[personal profile] rudementary 2023-03-12 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He'll take Kaveh angry over Kaveh out of his mind because of something he can't control. The reaction though... it's something he'll have to invest more research time into, given the way it seemed to affect them both so strongly. Was it because of the length of time they'd apparently gone without physical contact, or because of some factor that was unique to them, or was this simply what they would have to expect each time they came into contact with anyone? What a mess of variables to consider... ]

I thought the resemblance was uncanny.

[ His words are murmured, not particularly meant for Kaveh to overheard. He leaves him alone for the moment in fact, stepping into the bathroom to hang the towel to dry and replacing the statue in his room for future torment use. Unless Kaveh manages to find it and dispose of it before then. ]
rudementary: (Living in a paradox.)

[personal profile] rudementary 2023-03-12 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Statue secured. ]

[ Now he can head back into the living room to check on Kaveh once more, making an idle note in his head to contact Tighnari within the next day. No doubt the other man has already investigated into this phenomenom, so Alhaitham was interested in comparing his results against what he and Kaveh had apparently experienced. ]

[ Walking behind the couch Kaveh has fully claimed, he leans over the side of it to peer down with mild interest at whatever he'd taken to. Seems like he bounced back fast. ]

Bringing work home already?
rudementary: (This is the pinnacle.)

[personal profile] rudementary 2023-03-13 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Books with pictures isn't a novel concept, Kaveh, but I'm not surprised you've never come across one before.

[ Curiosity satisfied for now, he steps back, moving over to the bookshelf in the room to replace the Autumn book he'd been reading earlier and taking a new one off it. ]

Having a creative outlet would be good for you.
rudementary: (Count all your blessings.)

[personal profile] rudementary 2023-03-13 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
[ His attention seems on the cover of the book in hand, a part of Alhaitham's thoughts busy considering whether he should also take the Winter book with him to read as well. ]

So there would be no text whatsoever? That's impressive.

And you seem to be so fond of telling stories about me when I'm not around, it seemed like you could use an outlet for that specifically. Though I ask you refrain from using my likeness in this regard without consent.

Fictional stories can often be traced back to some basis in the personal experiences of the author, often hardships or trials that the author had encountered.

I was rather sure I was one such representation of annoyance in your life.

[ ... Kaveh, the Traveler doesn't live in one plac- ]

I see. Then I look forward to one day reading about the Traveler's mysterious but frustrating roommate. Perhaps we'll have something in common.

[ Books collected, he heads for the kitchen once more to brew himself some tea. ]
