A 🌸 Matcha Liqueur
[ Having gone to the brewery in Coldreach before, she was easily remembered by the staff when she paid a visit again for this quest. After telling the story of how she now has opened up a small tea house in Sunwaning, they've allowed her to take orders and serve them to any visitors and tourists.

And so, to any visitors and tourists, and perhaps even those trying the same quest as she is? The staff might just approach them and tell them to try one of Ayaka's concoctions! ]

A Night of Autumn Breeze, [ Ayaka says with a smile on her face. She offers a tall glass that does not look alcoholic, but is! ] It combines coffee and maple liqueur. Please let me know what you think.

[ Behind her on the counter are a few more concoctions, though not quite autumn related: a bright green drink and a fancy one with lots of toppings!

Of course, if these end up being a success, she can't exactly have the drinks at tea house. But, it does become a stepping stone for more items to serve there in the future. This is research! ]


B 🌸 Honour the Dead
[ Ayaka has a shrine for her parents, as well as Cloud's mother, as she pays respects to them every day. After finding out that there is a festival to honour those who have passed, though, she would dare not miss out on learning more about this. It is not because she is interested in the dead, but because she is in another world, it is always important to learn the world's customs. Lighting candles in various places isn't an uncommon ritual in honouring the dead, as well as floating lanterns.

While she is normally afraid of ghosts, though, she decides to try her best and partake of the other activities in helping those who have passed move onto the afterlife. The ghosts made of cloth she's made look quite a lot like teru teru bozu, because she doesn't know how else to make them. There are a couple floating around her as she looks around and tries to find someone who can help...

With how pale her skin looks from being so lowkey terrified though, it looks as if Ayaka might just join these ghosts very soon. ]

A- Ah... I'm very sorry to disturb you, [ she bows her head to anyone passing by. She hopes they pays her attention! ] But I need some assistance with these flower wreaths, you see.

[ Please help she is so scared... do you see her ankles wobbling??? Yes. She wants to help, but she is also scared of ghosts. :'( ]


C 🌸 Ayaya, the Friendly Ghost
[ Masquerades weren't exactly a popular type of event in Inazuma. There are festivals every so often where people would have to wear masks, but this feels different! They even have to have costumes, and that's very exciting! As cute as the idea is, however, Ayaka's not one to really dress up in costumes unless it's for """other""" purposes [cough]. She picks out a rather simple costume as a ghost or yuurei, dressed up in a kimono and a one-eyed mask.

It doesn't seem like people would be able to recognise her right away, so if there's anyone she knows and she spots at the party? They'll have a small Ayaka bounding up to them, tapping them on the shoulder (or the arm, whatever she can reach), before she waves both her hands in front of her. ]

Boo! [ Guess who!! Isn't her costume scary? °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

Though the festivities are also so very exciting. Identities being mostly masked gives her the confidence to also walk up to people. ]

My last wish before I passed was to dance at a grand party like this. [ She certainly does not sound very sad, though. In fact, one might be able to hear the excitement in her tone. (o˘◡˘o) ] Won't you dance with me?

It's not... exactly my first time doing something like that, but it's never been like this.

[Interacting with souls of the dead has happened to him surprisingly often, and in some unexpected ways, but this is a fairly calm and gentle way of dealing with the situation and he thinks he definitely prefers it, overall.

He cocks his head in the direction they need to go, his tail twitching that way as well.]

Shall we, then? I'll follow you.

[ Perhaps it would be more respectful to ask about other things he's done before after they do this. In which case, she'll invite him to have some tea with her as a means of saying thank you. ]

Right. We'll just need to lift the flower wreath first. I think we'll feel the spirit also hold onto the wreath, as well.

[ She places her hands on one side then looks at him. ]

Mhm.

[With a smile and a small flick of his ears he steps up to take hold of the other side of the wreath. Though he wasn't afraid to begin with, the process does feel easier with a kind person here to join him in it. Ayaka seems very nice - just as nice in person as she has been in her broadcasts.]

All right, I'm ready for... whatever happens next.

[He shoots her another of those reassuring smiles.]

Nothing to be afraid of, right?

[ That last comment gets a shaky laugh out of her. Because... yes, she is scared. Absolutely terrified, and she is trying her best not to be because she wants to help. ]

I'll try...

[ Honestly, having company truly helps. When they place the wreath on the crest, all they have to do is play the waiting game! Soon, the wreath disappears into thin air, and the weight on their hands is no more.

Only then does Ayaka let out a sigh of relief. She's been holding that one for a while! ]

Goodness. We did it!

[ SHE'S STILL SO TENSE ]

[It seems fairly simple and straightforward to E'kayan, but he keeps an eye on Ayaka with how nervous she looks about all this. While they wait, he even idly hums a few notes to himself, only to stop with a grimace when he realises that might be a little disrespectful.

Even he is starting to feel tense when the wreath finally disappears from their hands.]

Oh, hey! Look at that.

[He pats one hand against Ayaka's back in a show of camaraderie.]

You did great! Nothing to worry about at all.

[ Please, E'kayan. You deserve some credit too! As such, she bows her head. ]

Oh, I didn't do that much...

[But he grins, clearly pleased with the earnest thanks, and the wiggles of his ears and flicking of his tail betrays his true feelings.]

But, uh... why were you so scared to begin with?

[ Well, admitting to someone her fear of ghosts wasn't something she planned on doing tonight. This is certainly awkward for her, but she'll power through! ]

Well... doesn't everyone have something they are afraid of? [ Then again, for Ayaka, there are multiple things. ] Do ghosts not scare you?

Ghosts? No, not really.

[Oh, he's not thinking that her fear is a silly one, but it's definitely not one that he shares. Since she's been open enough about her own fear though, he volunteers information in turn. It seems only fair.]

I'm, um. Scared of being alone, and letting people down. And the dark, sometimes.

[He smiles at her, a little timidly.]

We all have something.

[ She is also scared of lightning and thunder, but... it is probably okay not to say that anymore. ]

Those are all very scary things, too.

[ He is valid! ]

Fortunately, there are a lot of things there that you have to do with other people. You needn't be alone.

I know, I know. And I'm not, most of the time.

[Though he is here by himself he doesn't feel like he's lonely. Erenville is just on the other end of the phone, he has Aymeric and others to call on if he feels like it, and people who are slowly becoming his friends. He looks at Ayaka with a sunny grin that shows off two sharp, slightly long canine teeth, then quickly glances around.]

Are you here on your own?

[ Which probably makes no sense, but Ayaka did want to go here and help out. The person she normally explores the city with has other things to do, unfortunately.

That does make her realise, though. Did he come here with others? ]

I hope I didn't separate you from your friends by asking for help?

Ah? No! No, not at all. I actually didn't come here with anyone.

[He was just looking around... and truth be told doesn't have that many friends in Ellipsa yet. He's grown so used to the group he travels with back home that befriending people outside of dramatic, dangerous situations is something he's finding strangely difficult.

So... this is nice.]

I was just about to go find something to eat, if you... aren't here with anyone either?

[Wait, that-- His tail stiffens slightly.]

As friends, I mean! Just a friend thing. I'm not trying to be weird.

She doesn't quite understand why he's tense all of a sudden. The invitation to find something to eat was exciting, after all! Of course Ayaka would love to eat somewhere with a new friend.

Though she thinks she gets it... She giggles from behind her hand. ]

Hehe. Then let's find something to eat. As friends.

[ Friends!! :D Ayato would be so proud. She's just made a new friend! ]

[Twelve save him from his own tendencies to be utterly embarrassing to himself. It seems like she rolls with it well enough though and he grins, his tail flicking eagerly from side to side.]

I could go for something spicy.

[Maybe not too spicy, but it does feel like that kind of night.]

I think I saw a place, uh... over that way?

[Small as he is he bounces up onto the balls of his feet and points over the top of the crowds.]

[ Something spicy... Admittedly, Ayaka's own spice tolerance is not that great, but if she can order something else, then it doesn't matter. Hopefully there will be lots of selections! ]

[ She is a lot smaller, so she'll trust he knows where he's going since getting on the tips of her toes merits her nothing. ]

[He offers his arm to her so they don't get separated in the crowds and begins making a beeline for the stall he has in mind. E'kayan can smell it before they get close, so he follows his nose and a few minutes later they arrive.

It looks to be a popular choice at the moment, so they have plenty of time to eye up the menu while they wait in line. What they have on offer is a good mix of meat dishes with sauces labelled at the sides with little peppers to indicate their heat, as well as some vegetable and meat snacks in thin, crispy pastry, and several kinds of rice.]

[ The offer is most certainly appreciated. Ayaka does not cling to him or put too much of her weight on him, but she does hold onto his arm and stay close as they walk around.

The items on the menu, as they look at it, do interest her. There are a lot here that she's never tried before, and if she were any braver, she'd want to try them all... ]

What about this? [ Chicken satay! ] It has two peppers.

[ Oh, would that not be something up his alley, she wonders? Hopefully he won't think her too weak for not wanting anything spicier... ]

[We do not talk about the time he had a curry so hot that it became something of a phenomenon. E'kayan is still not quite sure how he survived eating that, but he definitely had one hell of a headache the day after.]

How about we get a few things, and if there's anything you don't like then I'll eat it.

[ That's a very boyfriend thing to say! Rather... her boyfriend does that, too. But she does nod, because having more items to eat means more new things to try. She does love that. ]

Alright then. That's my choice... and perhaps some mashed potatoes?

[ They serve it with some carrots and corn on the side, as well, so she'd like those, too. ]

[It's true, E'kayan is very Boyfriend Material in several ways, though he's not trying to do it on purpose! At least not right now - he very much already has his own boyfriend.]

Ehe, sure, why not.

[Though he can definitely take a lot of heat in a meal if he wants to, E'kayan does actually enjoy savouring his food over having his tastebuds obliterated by spice. He doesn't choose anything too hot, though what he does pick may challenge Ayaka regardless if she decides to try any of it.]

[ They've got a good selection of snacks! And she will have to eat as much as she can to help him, in case it might be a challenge to eat it all from how much they ordered. ]

Do you like spicy food best?

[ She asks it once they've ordered and are off to the side, waiting for their food. It might seem like small talk, but talking about food is always so interesting to Ayaka. She loves learning about cuisine from other places, people's tastes, and their takes on certain things! ]

Hmm, best? Not really.

[While he doesn't mind it and grew used to eating it while in Radz-at-Han he wouldn't say it's his favourite. As they wait he clasps his hands behind his back, idly rocking back and forth between his heels and the balls of his feet.]

I grew up on the docks, so fish is probably my favourite.

[He grins at her, showing a quick flash of sharp canine teeth.]

A seasoned piece of fish, grilled, and some plain rice? Reminds me of being a kid.

[ Oh, that is a simple dish, but it sounds very delicious all the same. Especially when it fills you with such happy memories of your childhood.

Ayaka can imagine it now, and it is what puts a smile on her face. ]

[His tail gives a pleased little wiggle.]

Could probably catch fish with a stick and a piece of string if I had a good lure. It's not so hard. [He grins over at her.] Do you know how to fish?
