A 🌸 Matcha Liqueur
[ Having gone to the brewery in Coldreach before, she was easily remembered by the staff when she paid a visit again for this quest. After telling the story of how she now has opened up a small tea house in Sunwaning, they've allowed her to take orders and serve them to any visitors and tourists.

And so, to any visitors and tourists, and perhaps even those trying the same quest as she is? The staff might just approach them and tell them to try one of Ayaka's concoctions! ]

A Night of Autumn Breeze, [ Ayaka says with a smile on her face. She offers a tall glass that does not look alcoholic, but is! ] It combines coffee and maple liqueur. Please let me know what you think.

[ Behind her on the counter are a few more concoctions, though not quite autumn related: a bright green drink and a fancy one with lots of toppings!

Of course, if these end up being a success, she can't exactly have the drinks at tea house. But, it does become a stepping stone for more items to serve there in the future. This is research! ]

B 🌸 Honour the Dead
[ Ayaka has a shrine for her parents, as well as Cloud's mother, as she pays respects to them every day. After finding out that there is a festival to honour those who have passed, though, she would dare not miss out on learning more about this. It is not because she is interested in the dead, but because she is in another world, it is always important to learn the world's customs. Lighting candles in various places isn't an uncommon ritual in honouring the dead, as well as floating lanterns.

While she is normally afraid of ghosts, though, she decides to try her best and partake of the other activities in helping those who have passed move onto the afterlife. The ghosts made of cloth she's made look quite a lot like teru teru bozu, because she doesn't know how else to make them. There are a couple floating around her as she looks around and tries to find someone who can help...

With how pale her skin looks from being so lowkey terrified though, it looks as if Ayaka might just join these ghosts very soon. ]

A- Ah... I'm very sorry to disturb you, [ she bows her head to anyone passing by. She hopes they pays her attention! ] But I need some assistance with these flower wreaths, you see.

[ Please help she is so scared... do you see her ankles wobbling??? Yes. She wants to help, but she is also scared of ghosts. :'( ]

C 🌸 Ayaya, the Friendly Ghost
[ Masquerades weren't exactly a popular type of event in Inazuma. There are festivals every so often where people would have to wear masks, but this feels different! They even have to have costumes, and that's very exciting! As cute as the idea is, however, Ayaka's not one to really dress up in costumes ~~unless it's for """other""" purposes [cough]~~. She picks out a rather simple costume as a ghost or yuurei, dressed up in a kimono and a one-eyed mask.

It doesn't seem like people would be able to recognise her right away, so if there's anyone she knows and she spots at the party? They'll have a small Ayaka bounding up to them, tapping them on the shoulder (or the arm, whatever she can reach), before she waves both her hands in front of her. ]

Boo! [ Guess who!! Isn't her costume scary? °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

Though the festivities are also so very exciting. Identities being mostly masked gives her the confidence to also walk up to people. ]

My last wish before I passed was to dance at a grand party like this. [ She certainly does not sound very sad, though. In fact, one might be able to hear the excitement in her tone. (o˘◡˘o) ] Won't you dance with me?

She doesn't quite understand why he's tense all of a sudden. The invitation to find something to eat was exciting, after all! Of course Ayaka would love to eat somewhere with a new friend.

Though she thinks she gets it... She giggles from behind her hand. ]

Hehe. Then let's find something to eat. As friends.

[ Friends!! :D Ayato would be so proud. She's just made a new friend! ]

Do you have a craving for anything at this time?

[Twelve save him from his own tendencies to be utterly embarrassing to himself. It seems like she rolls with it well enough though and he grins, his tail flicking eagerly from side to side.]

I could go for something spicy.

[Maybe not too spicy, but it does feel like that kind of night.]

I think I saw a place, uh... over that way?

[Small as he is he bounces up onto the balls of his feet and points over the top of the crowds.]

Sound good?

[ Something spicy... Admittedly, Ayaka's own spice tolerance is not that great, but if she can order something else, then it doesn't matter. Hopefully there will be lots of selections! ]

I will follow you. Please lead the way!

[ She is a lot smaller, so she'll trust he knows where he's going since getting on the tips of her toes merits her nothing. ]

[He offers his arm to her so they don't get separated in the crowds and begins making a beeline for the stall he has in mind. E'kayan can smell it before they get close, so he follows his nose and a few minutes later they arrive.

It looks to be a popular choice at the moment, so they have plenty of time to eye up the menu while they wait in line. What they have on offer is a good mix of meat dishes with sauces labelled at the sides with little peppers to indicate their heat, as well as some vegetable and meat snacks in thin, crispy pastry, and several kinds of rice.]

What do you think? Do you see something you might like?

[ The offer is most certainly appreciated. Ayaka does not cling to him or put too much of her weight on him, but she does hold onto his arm and stay close as they walk around.

The items on the menu, as they look at it, do interest her. There are a lot here that she's never tried before, and if she were any braver, she'd want to try them all... ]

What about this? [ Chicken satay! ] It has two peppers.

[ Oh, would that not be something up his alley, she wonders? Hopefully he won't think her too weak for not wanting anything spicier... ]

Or would you like something a bit more hot?

You can have anything you like! I won't judge.

[We do not talk about the time he had a curry so hot that it became something of a phenomenon. E'kayan is still not quite sure how he survived eating that, but he definitely had one hell of a headache the day after.]

How about we get a few things, and if there's anything you don't like then I'll eat it.

[This Warrior of Light does not fear spicy food!]

[ That's a very boyfriend thing to say! Rather... her boyfriend does that, too. But she does nod, because having more items to eat means more new things to try. She does love that. ]

Alright then. That's my choice... and perhaps some mashed potatoes?

[ They serve it with some carrots and corn on the side, as well, so she'd like those, too. ]

[It's true, E'kayan is very Boyfriend Material in several ways, though he's not trying to do it on purpose! At least not right now - he very much already has his own boyfriend.]

Ehe, sure, why not.

[Though he can definitely take a lot of heat in a meal if he wants to, E'kayan does actually enjoy savouring his food over having his tastebuds obliterated by spice. He doesn't choose anything too hot, though what he does pick may challenge Ayaka regardless if she decides to try any of it.]

This should be enough, right?

I believe so.

[ They've got a good selection of snacks! And she will have to eat as much as she can to help him, in case it might be a challenge to eat it all from how much they ordered. ]

Do you like spicy food best?

[ She asks it once they've ordered and are off to the side, waiting for their food. It might seem like small talk, but talking about food is always so interesting to Ayaka. She loves learning about cuisine from other places, people's tastes, and their takes on certain things! ]

Hmm, best? Not really.

[While he doesn't mind it and grew used to eating it while in Radz-at-Han he wouldn't say it's his favourite. As they wait he clasps his hands behind his back, idly rocking back and forth between his heels and the balls of his feet.]

I grew up on the docks, so fish is probably my favourite.

[He grins at her, showing a quick flash of sharp canine teeth.]

A seasoned piece of fish, grilled, and some plain rice? Reminds me of being a kid.

[ Oh, that is a simple dish, but it sounds very delicious all the same. Especially when it fills you with such happy memories of your childhood.

Ayaka can imagine it now, and it is what puts a smile on her face. ]

Do you also catch fish, then?

Sure!

[His tail gives a pleased little wiggle.]

Could probably catch fish with a stick and a piece of string if I had a good lure. It's not so hard. [He grins over at her.] Do you know how to fish?

I'm sorry to disappoint, but I'm afraid I have never tried.

[ And she feels a little embarrassed, shown by the tint of her cheeks, for getting his hopes up. ]

It is a very popular activity, where I am from, however. Many citizens of Ritou, a town a little further away from the capital, use fishing as their source of livelihood.

I am very fond of the products, of course. Sushi and sashimi are so very delicious.

[ She is a consumer! ]

Would you ever want to learn?

[He's not disappointed at all! But if she'd like to learn how to fish, he can definitely show her the basics in the very least.]

Most important thing you need is patience, really. And the right kind of bait.

I've actually never considered it before. Where I am from, I'm afraid I would not be allowed and shouldn't be seen doing something like that.

[ But it does get her to laugh, now that she's thinking about it. ]

Though, I am not at home... I suppose learning might be fun.

[Now that just strikes him as odd. He can't think of many people for whom it would be unbecoming to be seen fishing, unless...]

You some kind of nobility or royalty or something?

I would not say so, but I do come from an influential family, and we directly serve our nation's leader and overlook a branch of our government.

[ She is a noble... But it isn't really something she finds worth talking about, since she wants to be seen as just Ayaka, her title and her role be damned. ]

I must act a certain way, if I mean to represent the Raiden Shogun and my clan.

Oh, right, that kind of thing.

[He says it thoughtfully, like he very much knows that kind of thing and that kind of person.]

It's always seemed kinda... restrictive to me. Having more power doesn't always give you more freedom, does it.

I suppose it depends on how you want to use that power, as well.

[ It is unfortunate, but some people in power do abuse what they have, after all. Ayaka tries to always look at things in a positive light, but this is something she cannot ignore as it is reality. ]

In this case though, I would not quite describe it as "restrictive", but I also cannot deny it at the same time.

[ It's more like "your words, not mine" so that she could not be found complaining about her station. ]

I know someone back home. He's here too. Aymeric de Borel.

[He smiles a little as he says the name. Clearly he is very fond of this person.]

He's the Lord Commander of the Temple Knights of Ishgard, and since the reformation of their government has held a high seat in their House of Lords too. He... He'd love to come away and go on an adventure some time, I think... but he can't. I suppose that's what I mean by restriction.

[E'kayan looks up at the sky, his ears tilting back slightly.]

He loves Ishgard, and he wouldn't turn his back on his responsibilities, but sometimes I think he'd like to be able to just put them down for a minute. Is that what it's like for you?

It is similar, yes. Though... I think I would prefer to not have any eyes on me, rather than set down my responsibilities. Does that make sense?

[ Not to mention, she's met the man before! ]

I've met him too, by the way. He went to the shinrin-yoku, a teahouse in Sunwaning, and we chatted for a short while.

[ He likes the colour blue! That is what Ayaka remembers of him, apart from being a guest at her teahouse. ]

Mm. I feel like that sometimes. I think Aymeric would understand it too.

[Aymeric does indeed like the colour blue, and it suits the man very well. E'kayan wouldn't be able to help but smile to hear her say it.]

What do you think of the food?

You do? Hehe, that is good to know. Oftentimes, I do wonder if I'm alone in feeling the way that I do.

[ So it really is a relief! She doesn't want to feel selfish in thinking these things...

As for the food? It's not something that she's used to— despite ordering the non-spicy version, it still has a bit of a kick! She is enjoying it, at least. ]

It's very delicious! The flavours are ones that I'm not used to, admittedly. The meat being grilled adds a different layer of flavour, as well.

Yeah, it's pretty good.

[E'kayan is enjoying the spice, personally, though it's definitely not as spicy as some of the things he's eaten before. He chews a mouthful for a few moments as he mulls over their conversation. Though he doesn't want to make the atmosphere too bleak he can't quite turn his mind away from it.]

I don't think that you're ever really alone in feeling a certain way... though it can feel like you are. [He hums softly, thoughtfully.]

It's important to have people around who can remind you of that.
