[ When you head to the location of Yuri's GPS ping from yesterday's network post, you'll find a rented-out little karaoke bar with MAID FOR YOU written on a handmade banner that is temporarily covering the bar's normal name, decorated in pink and black on the inside, with a lot of cute little two-chair tables taking up most of the floor space. There are rooms in the back that would normally be for singing karaoke in private, and singing with a maid is indeed one of the things you can do with those rooms today!

The real draw, though, is all of the very cute folks dressed as maids and/or butlers today, who will — for a small fee — wait on you personally. ♥

Take a menu, select a maid, and place your orders... or just ask Yuri what all the commotion's about, he'll be happy to explain! ]


((ooc: Maid cafe fundraiser! Don't worry too much about the coins your character is spending here, nothing is too expensive (though the black menu items are at a premium), we're all just here for the CR.

PLEASE NOTE: Yuri does feel personally responsible for the safety and comfort of all the Official Maids who are trying to help him raise funds here, so he will be actively trying to curb anyone bullying their friends into signing up, and he really doesn't want anyone working for him to be wearing or doing anything that makes them uncomfortable. Adult characters who only want to wear pink ribbons? Characters who want a full coverage maid outfit, or who want to be butlers instead? Excellent exercising of your boundaries, Yuri loves that for you.

You can, however, definitely pay for the "dress up as maid or butler" menu item and use that to bully your friends to your hearts' content. 😉))

[Red Son had forgotten just how draining it can be to keep up the customer service smile. He's found its even more draining when he's doing it for someone else's sake. At least when it had been his family's place, he could break if he really wanted to, but here he had to be extra good.]

[So anytime he leaves the customer's sight, the smile is gone because he doesn't necessarily need a perky attitude for the other workers.]

[Still, a break from a smile doesn't mean he has to stop entirely and its good to check on the kitchen, so he'll poke his head in.]

[HONESTLY, ITS A GOOD IDEA, do not let the person who can eat literal lava make you spicy food. Sure, the food is good, it will just also melt a human's tastebuds.]

Too many mortals don't appreciate a proper spicy meal.

Recognition that I need help to accomplish certain tasks and making friends is difficult and could be seen as insincere and then I lose the help. The guild has an exchange built in.

[Sorry, Lelouch, someone has zero qualms on making his status as an immortal demon obvious. Also like there are mortals back home who AREN'T human, so its just easier to include them.]

Quests, exploring segments. I need information on this world and for that, I need to know about this world.

And whatever it is that's preventing my gate spell from properly navigating so I can get home.

That dark energy Olwen mentioned? Of course it would interfere with something so useful.

Maybe. I'm not sure how much I trust vague 'dark energy' as an explanation without some evidence, but either way, it has to be something pervasive to interfere. Most likely something that's working on at least an elemental level, if not a fabric of reality level considering its just been the gate spell so far that's been interfered with.

[Oh, so he does have a brain, and Lelouch may just be perking up the tiniest bit at the realization. Always nice to find one of those in working order.]

Have you questioned the other otherworlders as to which of their powers the alleged "dark energy" interferes with?

I'm spoken to a few people about it, but so far, nothing else has been noted to be interfered with.

[He pauses, tapping his chin.] Though may a survey on the network would get results. Surely there's at least one other person with some dimensional travel power. I could potentially find a commonality between how the powers work beyond just the outcome that might tell me at least if the dark power is elemental or fabric.

Or a third thing I haven't figured out as being able to apply. Some things can be unorthodox and those are always hard to account for. [He thrives on doing that himself.]

Either way, narrowing the spectrum of where to look would be valuable.

[Nothing else that anyone would admit to, at least, or perhaps they, like Lelouch, were actively avoiding using their more destructive/disruptive capabilities? He'll keep this thought to himself, of course, but.]

A survey would be a good start. Granted, it could very well invite backlash from our seasonal overlords, but I doubt they'd do so publicly if they were intent upon maintaining a benevolent facade. At the least, we could also prepare ourselves for such a thing and know to raise the alarm should there be any suspicious consequences.

They can come for me if they want, they'll just make it clear what I should be doing. I haven't decided if they're little recruit plan is a cover story, or simple incompetence for how random their selection process must be to pull who they do for this place.

They might be strong with the seasonal powers, but I've been an elemental for centuries, I can do things with fire they could only dream of.

Not really, no. Once I have a subject in mind, I'm fairly good at figuring out the right questions to ask. Its an important part of curse breaking.
