Intent matters in magic. That's what Reiner has learned during his time in Ellipsa. Intent matters, and so he investigates the Weird Mirror Tree with a specific intent. He's trying to find a certain possibility. Trying to see if his dreams are reflected in one of the mirrors.

But sometimes, intent isn't enough. Sometimes, mistakes are made.

Sometimes, things just go wrong.

WHAT HAPPENS

A blast of magic emanates from the Weird Mirror Tree in the Sping Segment, bouncing between mirrors and reflections as it races outward across Ellipsa, including toward Nightwake.

➤

Those hit by this magic (be it while looking at a reflection or while the magic is traveling) will transform into an Alternate Universe version of themselves.

➤

They may have muddied memories of Ellipsa, but for the most part, it will be as though they've lived an entirely different life up until that point.

➤

They will have any items and clothing that their AU self would possess, but no new powers.

It was a foolish thing to do, but it wasn't that foolish. Reiner knew he'd risk his own safety in the Spring Segment. However, he was willing to do that if it meant finding an answer to his question. A personal, nagging, potentially stupid question for which he nonetheless had to find an answer.

The question was: In any of those impossible possibilities, did he ever get married?

So it was a foolish thing to do. Reiner knew that. He knew it when he left Nightwake; he knew it when he narrowly avoided combat on the way to the Weird Mirror Tree; he knew it even when he was walking down the Tree's stairs. It was foolish, selfish, embarrassing—and that's why he was alone.

But it was only supposed to be dangerous for him.

When the magic blasts outward, Reiner is hit immediately. He retains just enough sense to use his Travel Crystal to teleport away. As he makes to pull out his phone and call someone, he's hit again…

And then, he's someone else entirely.

The Mentor (hunger games au)

As a Victor, Reiner Braun has survived all manner of things. He has witnessed the worst humanity has to offer, both in bloody violence and in silk-wrapped caresses. He has fought for his life with knives, teeth, bare fists, and wits. He has done all he can to keep his Tributes alive, mercilessly training them before they set foot into the arena. He has celebrated those who have won; he has mourned those who have lost. Through it all, he has stayed alive. He has kept moving forward.

But never has he encountered anything like this.

He handles it as best he can. Scales the nearest building to get his bearings, looking out over a completely unfamiliar city. Some of the technology reminds him of the Capitol, but the rest…? It's as unfamiliar as a freshly unveiled arena.

Cursing under his breath, Reiner runs a hand through his hair, debating what to do next. That's when he spots someone on the ground below. Maybe they're familiar, or maybe they just appear as out of place in this strange city as Reiner himself. In either case, Reiner uses a fire escape to quickly drop down to the ground, landing behind them with nary a sound.

Until he announces himself with a brusque, "Hey."

If the person knows Reiner's Ellipsa counterpart, they'll be in for a surprise. This Reiner is only a year older, but he's thinner and far more worn, with a short beard that makes him look much older than he is.

Evangeline | Original (Lobotomy Corporation) | Summer

[In terms of appearance, there's only one real noticeable difference about Evangeline: she's not wearing the flower she nearly always has in her hair. Otherwise, she's still the same sparkle-eyed Evangeline as always.

She's flitting around the city in wonder, examining the most obviously supernatural elements with awe. She spends a solid half hour just floating in the sand castle.

And when she spots someone her normal self knows-]

Open - Death goes on a walk

Awakening in this realm, alone, has started Narinder's day on the backfoot. He is grouchy as he pulls himself out of bed and goes looking through the strange new temple. The strange hairless creatures greet him as if they know him. He pays them little mind or attention short of a curt nod. This is clearly a Temple to the Lamb. But not his temple.

He leaves soon after to explore this realm, following the pull in his chest. His heart is around here somewhere. He will find them and discover what brought them here and why.

For now, any he comes across will have but one question asked as a greeting.]

[After much wondering, he finds someone familiar. A face he either wishes to see or one he would rather avoid. Still, a marked improvement from those he's found lately. He approaches the familiar face. His own stature is different than he has been. He is more confident, his robes like the ones he once wore as The One Who Waits, and in his hand is a rather intimidating looking black scythe with red eyes.]

Finally, I find I am not alone in this realm. Tell me, where are we and why are we here?

1) Mr. Ginpachi's Zany Class

[Hijikata can't believe it. How could a regular 17 year old boy like him who's one of the biggest jocks at school end up isekai'd into a fantasy world?!]

And I wasn't even hit by a truck...

[How is a normal modern high schooler supposed to survive-- but wait, they actually have great infrastructure here, complete with arcades and vending machines and whatnot. Maybe this isn't all bad? The lower levels of the underground mall even have shops with really cool stuff like actual swords! Alas, he's got no money... and his wistful looks at the display window attract the attention of an unsavoury individual who invites him to the casino. If he has no money, why not make some?]

Sorry, but absolutely not. I don't want to be kicked out of the disciplinary committee!

2) Dekobokko (An Untranslatable Japanese Word)

[Hijikata is female. Has she always been, or did the sex swap arc stick? She honestly doesn't care to search her oddly spotty memory more deeply, because she's in a whole other world - without her women.]

3) Fate/Stay Night

[Hijikata knew exactly why he wanted the Holy Grail, and it was arguably the most selfish reason imaginable: To save the woman he loves from her illness. Not honour and glory for the Shinsengumi (they'll have to earn that themselves), not peace and prosperity for Edo (that never lasts forever, and he knows it). What he didn't expect was that his measly catalyst, some old western relic, channeled his Servant summoning not into a reliable Heroic Spirit, but one who had all the bearings of a wicked witch...

And now he got isekai'd?!]

Excuse me, but have you seen a woman in a purple robe?

[He barely got to know (and mistrust) her! Alas, for better or worse, his Command Seals are still in place... is she here too, then?]

He's keeping his distance for now, though, keeping a close eye on the shady guy that approached Hijikata. There's no point in him announcing his presence if Hijikata just walks away and the creep lets him go, but if need be ... He's always ready to step in. ]

1) Twisted Wonderland

[This can't be happening, Frieda thinks. It wasn't that long ago that she was hit by a carriage back home and woke up in a coffin - not underground, mistakenly buried alive, but at the illustrious Night Raven College. Ever since, she's been spending her days trying to support the boys attenting the magical school, most of them supernatural beings, with their personal and interpersonal problems - though, in fairness, they've been teaching her a whole lot too, albeit no magical skills as she entirely lacks their talents. Trying to take in her surroundings, she nervously plays with the hem of her school uniform.]

Oh, this is bad. My dorm was ramshackle, but now I don't have anywhere to stay at all, do I?

[She didn't even get the luxury of a personal coffin to get acclimatised... (why does she view that as a luxury when she's not even a vampire?]

2) Attack on Titan: Junior High

[Frieda really only took on the substitute teacher job to see her beloved but estranged half-sister Historia again, but it was much more fun than she expected! She liked her colleagues, and teaching her class was rewarding, even if she had to be hard on them sometimes (especially when they had the nerve to not only compete with Historia, the only possible choice for the female lead role, but also derail the school play before she could have her big moment!)... and now, she's here, isekai'd into another world.]

Why did this happen to me?! I'm not even a main character!

[(This is admittedly a bit of a Gintama-flavoured AU since the Junior High humour overlaps, what with the characters' constant dunks and burns and 4th-wall-savviness... I couldn't resist!)]

3) Elden Ring

[Frieda's world is incredible hard to survive in as a human. With demigods warring for dominion over the Lands Between after the disappearance of mother goddess Marika, they try to eke out survival in what fragile protection their settlements offer from the deities, monsters, enemy races, and twisted humans who turn on their own kind to power or the sheer joy of it.

As such, imagine her bafflement when she finds herself in such an enormous, fantastical, futuristic city! Never having seen anything remotely like this, she can only slowly walk around, taken by wonder at every corner. Eventually, she timidly asks a passerby (knowing full well that it might cost her life, should they be a bandit or suchlike and somehow discern her noble bloodline despite the total lack of jewelry or other adornments):]

Pray tell, where may I find the Erdtree? I cannot see it anywhere...

1. Sunwaning

[ It had hit him in the late morning while he was brushing his teeth. After wandering sort of dazedly around his house, he makes it onto the street, and he stands there for a while just ... staring. ]

Did I really buy this place ...?

[ He has some vague memory of it. When he tries to remember exactly what motivated him to do so, though, his mind draws a blank, and he rubs his head as he squints at his house, the ones around it, the horses ... ]

Why did I choose this district when Nightwake and Blossomcrown exist?

[ Although Nightwake probably wouldn't be that nice to live in. Imagine the constant noise.

He makes a face, then he turns towards Sadaharu, who'd followed him out and seems to be staring into his soul while wagging his tail. ]

And why are you here? Where's Kagura, huh?

2. Blossomcrown park

[ So apparently he's gotten saddled with Kagura's dog, somehow. And he'd like to just ignore it, but he really doesn't want this monster dog's poop in his yard or, even worse, his house.

Which is what brings him to the park with a ball and some treats he'd found at home and ...

He stops and stares at all the ducks that are still swarming the place. ]

Why do I feel like this is my problem?

[ Quack, says a duck and flies up to perch on his head. He doesn't move, though, and just turns his attention to the nearest person. ]

Oi. Whose ducks are these? This seems like a public hazard.

3. Public transit

[ This could be on any available public transit. That is, a bus or a tram. He's reading a JUMP magazine he probably got from the library, one elbow propped on a windowsill and his head resting on his hand.

He's enjoying a nice, quiet day ...

And there's some group of little punks being awfully loud. At first, he tries to ignore them, but he gets steadily more annoyed. Eventually, he jerks upright and turns over his shoulder to snap: ]

OIII! Where do you think we are, some kind of amusement park?! Pipe down!

4. Wildcard

[ Ginpachi-sensei will wander around a bit all over the place. Rather than cause shenanigans himself, he's far more likely to stick his nose into them or get dragged into them. If your character is on the younger side, he's likely to activate teacher mode.

[Rinku is doing what her non-AUed self did when she first got here: sitting on the flying bus for the entire route just to look out the window. But for a second, she feels like she ought to be reading Jump too. Or at least Ribon. The product placement still works if it's the same publisher, right?

Izuku 'Deku' Midoriya l My Hero Academia

[In this au, Izuku never got One For All from All Might. Instead, he had focused on any other means to make up for his lack of a Quirk. Still just as determined to help people. To become a hero like All Might. So he focuses on support gear, making himself a suit that he gradually upgrades over time as he gets more ideas and experience. Using his nerd knowledge of various Quirks and analysing them, how to make use of them, he ends up making something along the lines of Armored All Might's suit by the end of the series. Using that to help where he can, instead of All Might's Quirk, which was passed on to another student in his stead.

So he might be found wandering, exploring, and keeping an eye out for any potential trouble or crime, even as he takes it all in. This strange new place. He still looks the same, more or less, outside of the suit. Just less scarred, without having destroyed his arms so badly and repeatedly.]

This place is...?

Dark Deku:

[He pulls the scarf further up, not that he needs to cover his face more than it already is, given his mask. He tries to keep to the rooftops as best he can for a better view and to avoid attracting so much attention. Least of all, if Bakugo or Todoroki come across him. His clothes are rather a mess, and haven't really been repaired when they've been ripped or damaged in battles against the escaped villains he had been going after. He's notably trying to avoid his friends from home if they spot him in particular. Seeming determined to flee.

Still, if he does see someone in trouble, he will leap down to help without a second thought. And may not necessarily remember how his appearance might be a little creepier at present. He's also seeming rather torn regarding eating. As if debating if he can allow himself that break. Or has the money for it, for that matter. If anyone does get a better look at him as he steps in to protect them, he's rather rough. His stomach is probably growling, and his movements are getting more sluggish and tired even as he tries to keep pushing himself.]

[Katsuki is.... very lost. And very confused. He was supposed to be home celebrating with his dad Mike, after having won a very scary and dangerous war. He had nearly died and was covered in all kinds of injuries, but wherever he found himself happened to heal them all up. Even his right arm which had been nearly destroyed beyond repair was working perfectly normal as if nothing had happened... it was strange. All of it was.

But what was even stranger was his best friend, Izuku. He spotted him while wandering the streets and their eyes locked for just a second-- before the green haired boy suddenly sprints as fast as possible to get away from Katsuki. It has the blonde immediately worried, and he runs after him.]

Oi, Izuku! Wait! Why are you running so dang fast?!

[Katsuki doesn't like the idea of being left alone in this strange place, so he tries his best to catch up with him. Prepared to use his explosions to fly after if he has to speed up.]

...Or just peeking out of the Summer Guild's walls. Yup. That's where she lives now.]

[ For Megumi, the difference isn't immediately obvious, as she doesn't look too much different.

However, she can be found with her guitar and amp around various power spots in Ellipsa, as well as the stage in Blossomcrown with a guitar case open in front of her. That's right, folks, your local psychic (?) is doing some busking in her casual wear.

As for the songs that she's singing, they're very much songs that seem to be completely new, but are extremely well sung and played by Megumi herself.

She'll even introduce each one: Killer Bee, NPNL and even Deep Resonance.

After her short set list, she'll ask if anybody has any requests - after all, if she's doing this for a living, you've got to cater to the audience. ]

[ OOC | And here is Megumi Aikawa, the "Idol of the West" AU starter; all the songs are, in fact, sung by Megumi's seiyuu, Inami Anju, so the songs are basically pretty 1:1 in the singing department.

Werewolf AU

It was the full moon night when Jean gets hit with the magic. Even if it wasn't yet night time, he already had wolf-like features that were even more clear than before. In fact, it almost looked like they were a permanent part of him. Longer nails and fangs, a little bit of more hair. All that was really missing was the tail and ears.

Weirdly, while he thought he had been werewolf for years he also had his own memories jumbled in the mix. So he recognized people, both through scent and what they looked like. But it was weird and he found himself growling through his confusion.

During night he looked very different than he normally would on full moon. He was actually a bipedal wolf. A man turned into wolf. Though he did retain his sense of self, at least, but he was more agitated than usual - claiming territory over places that were familiar to him.

"Get out", he would growl. At least before he could properly sense who was visiting "his territory".

Hunger Games AU

This wasn't where he was supposed to be. No, he was supposed to be in the middle of the games, in the Arena - forced to kill other people. The place did look a bit similar to the city, from what he saw, yet it was vastly different.

Even if there wasn't immediate danger, Jean held tightly onto the crossbow he had with him. The very same one he had taken from the starting point to protect himself with. He was still wearing his wetsuit-like attire that was covered in grime and mud. Even his hair and skin had dirt on it. There was also dried blood on his cheek from where a bullet had hit him during the early stages of the game.

He should be glad he wasn't in the Arena anymore, but he was more bewildered and worried about what was going on. Any sudden noises were also making him jump and he was either ready to fight or flee, whichever was the better option.

Military Police/Kenny Squad AU

Jean looks relatively normal, except his gear is completely different this time and his uniform has a different symbol. His expression is also very different, almost completely void of emotion.

He spends most of his time observing people from somewhere more quiet, possibly searching for someone with his gaze, but mostly trying to figure out what he was supposed to do in this situation.

Most of the things he did were based on orders. He rarely did anything in his freetime, other than maybe play cards with other squad members. So now that he had all the time he wanted he was kind of lost on what to do.

A mysterious man was watching the people curiously with his hood firmly up. He found himself in this strange situation, in a completely new world. It wasn't the first time he had traveled across the world but this was certainly not his own doing.

No, his magic was definitely not involved any of this, which was both worrisome and fascinating. He should really be finding a quick way back to Norvrandt, but without the Crystal Tower here his powers weren't the same.

Another worrisome thing was the Crystal Tower not being here, seeing as he was connected to it. Yet he felt relatively fine. Maybe a little lightheaded, but not any worse than that.

After a while, he moves. Perhaps he sees someone as out of place as him or maybe someone just feels like they might know answers to his questions.

"Excuse me. May I ask some questions?"

His voice was definitely not familiar and didn't sound like G'raha Tia, alright. He is definitely not G'raha Tia. Perish that thought.

The first time they had met like this he had been fooled simply because he didn't understand why a friend would try to conceal his identity. Now, he knows better.

To say that he was lost was one thing. He was used to that, in a way, but typically when ending up in a different time, place, or even planet came with some preamble. A little plotting. Maybe actually knowing what to expect here. Not to find himself in the middle of a street somewhere unfamiliar and...huh - that's a bunch of people going by on horseback.

"...definitely not in Kansas anymore," he mutters to himself, rolling his shoulders and putting his hands into the pockets of the jacket he has on. "Okay, El, where the hell did you end up this time..."

Regardless, the six foot six turtle in a jacket and jeans will start scouting, looking for someone to ask where the nearest watering hole is. Or bar. Whatever the locals like to hang out at so he can maybe get a good place to regroup and figure out where he's gotten dropped off in now. He's big and imposing, broad shouldered and rough around the edges with a pretty big scar along chin to cheek, but he'll keep his distance so not to crowd anyone smaller than him.

"Hey," he calls to the nearest person, "can ya point me ta like, nearest township or city? M'kinda lost."

And then some, because she's pretty sure she must've been drugged or hit with a sleep spell or something. Why else would her vision be so blurry? And she's so tired. Though … it's weird. On The Hunt... or not?? (K/DA|KDPH style Youkai Hunter AU)

There's a figure striding purposefully through the streets of Nightwake. Tall with striking markings and a sleek shell on his back. You might recognize him, you might not, but he catches attention all the same.

Ishkode is wearing leather pants, knee length canvas sneakers and a cropped tank over top of which is a bright blue cropped jacket. The back of the jacket has what appears to be a stylized fox face with all it's teeth showing embroidered on it in silver. What's probably most eye catching, though, is the big, swishing (and kind of gravity defying) tails of the blue mask across the lower half of his face. The whole look is completed with a blue and white hat with the Thunderbird symbol on it. He also appears to have a glowing?! teal hockey stick draped across one shoulder and what looks like spray cans hooked to a belt hanging low around his hips.

He's obviously looking for something. Teal eyes are sharp and bright and he seems to notice he's being watched. He turns to the person watching him and catches their gaze, his own intense.

"Aaniin. I need some info. You got a sec?"

Oh no. Seen. She can't be seen. What does she do now?]

i. the au where mike is his biological american dad

[Katsuki Lorlief has been through a lot. Villains ruining his high school life, a war that he had to win and nearly died in... and now this. This weird place he doesn't recognize filled with people he's never met. The only thing on his mind was his friends and family, and where they were. He didn't even question why his injuries were all healed and scarred over, when he should still be recovering. All he cared about was figuring out where he was, and how to get home. He was supposed to be at the store right now, to fetch some food for a party Mike was throwing....

Which is why he can be found staring quite intensely at the Questboard. Looking at it with a hand to his chin, mumbling quietly to himself.]

[bless his heart he thought this was a directory of some kind... also anyone who knows and recognizes him will immediately see that his metal prosthetic arm has been replaced by a VERY scarred fleshy one instead]

ii. the au where he was born without a quirk

[Katsuki was pissed. He walks around the streets of Nightwake with a serious chip on his shoulder, a scowl so deep and furious that anyone with a right mind would avoid him. Ignoring the fact that he's suddenly in a foreign city with no one familiar around, he was angry with life in general. He'd been born without a Quirk-- without the thing that every Hero needs to fight crime with. All he wanted was to be a Hero like All Might, but he couldn't. He tried to use weapons, and worked out so hard that he could knock someone out with a good punch. But despite his best efforts, he wasn't allowed to be a Hero. He wasn't allowed to go to the high school he'd been dreaming of, unless he wanted to only be support and that of course just wasn't going to cut it.

He had to face the fact that his future wasn't going to go the way he wanted it to, and what was even worse was that the wimpy kid he grew up with got his Quirk. And it was really cool, too. Weak, crybaby Deku can create and control fire thanks to the Quirks his parents had.... yet Katsuki couldn't even get a single bead of special sweat from his own. No acidic sweat like his dad, no glycerin like his mom. He just has... nothing.

Katsuki decided to follow his mom's footsteps, then, and focus on working with her line of field. His mother is an interior designer, and he didn't want to do exactly what she does so he went with architecture. Designing buildings and art installations... he had a knack for it, and at seventeen already has helped a few businesses out with his ideas. At least he enjoys the praise that comes from doing a good job. Even if it's not his dream job, he still puts 110% into everything he does.

Which is also why he's so damn mad. He walks the streets of Nightwake seriously judging the decor, and stops near a store that doesn't seem to quite fit in with the rest of the buildings around it.]

What the hell is this?! The trim's all wrong!

[He complains to no one yet everyone at the same time.]

iii. no au just here to observe and be confused

[Things are being Weird again, and when he's not stuck as an AU'd version of himself he's stuck observing everyone else and wondering what the fuck is going on. And what's even more concerning and confusing was the fact that he couldn't find Izuku anywhere. Unaware that the boy was currently stuck as a version of himself in hiding. A version who's trying to keep everyone safe by staying away. He just.. thinks the other boy is most likely lost if he's currently a strange version of himself.

And so, he walks up to anyone he recognizes to ask about the other boy.]

Hey, have you seen Deku?

Emeth is asleep, Wukong is saying MK is some dark version of himself and Macaque acts like they haven't talked in two years? Something screwy is going on. Mastermind AU

All good plans come to an end. Naegi Makoto, the Ultimate Despair, was completely defeated by the students of Hope's Peak Academy. He had admitted to it, yet showed no remorse at all. Even in death he had no regrets. And his legacy would live on.

There was a lightning shaped scar running over his right eye, in close resemblance to what the black and white bears looked like. Otherwise he looked very much like Naegi usually did. The atmosphere around him was just very different.

Now there was a whole new world ahead of him. Not one he destroyed, but one he probably could if he put his mind to it. But first he would observe the world, staring intensily at the people passing by.

A completely new world to terrorize. Ah, the thought of that was so good. Perhaps he should play it nice like he did back home, just to take the hope he'd sown out the last moment.

So many options. He really needed to make his plans right.

Her combat abilities weren't as honed as her former self- and neither did she carry the scars or prosthetic hand that she used to. She looked almost deceptively plain.

Something was definitely wrong with Ozymandias. The pharaoh was usually too damn bright and his radiance was almost like the sun. Now he wasn't anything like himself - the atmosphere around him all doom and gloom. His eyes were snake-like and his clothes and skin both had scales, making him strongly affiliated with them.

"You", he says in a voice commanding. "Explain to me the reason why I was summoned to this place. I did not suffer defeat at the hand of those lowly servants."

None of those fools could take down the master of the underworld.

It seemed that Medusa's Master had forgotten her... but what did that even mean? Had he gone home and been brought back without his memories? No, that couldn't be right, he knew too much about the Grail War- was he angry with her? No, if he was, he'd yell and bluster rather than give her the silent treatment. Then, perhaps something bigger was going on...

And that theory was proven true when she heard the booming voice of another of her lover's not too far away. He still had his unmistakable presence as a Servant, yes, but it felt different. Strangely, more like her own.

She approached cautiously, her own scales glinting in the light of the radiance coming off him in waves. Yet, despite the warmth emanating from his body, none of that reached his voice as he demanded answers from some poor local.

"...lowly Servants, hm?"

Archer looked very much the same as always. It's just that he looked like he had been in the middle of a fight all of a sudden, with his clothes all torn up and blood still running on his face. His hair wasn't in his usual style either.

Did he end up dying before he could do the one last thing so he could continue protect Rin and to save Sakura? If so, fate was truly cruel. He remembers Rider speaking to him before he moved to cut his arm, but that's all.

Why was he in the middle of a random city anyway? Was there something he needed to do in his role as a Counter Guardian here? If so, the conflict wasn't here, obviously.

And he was tired. So tired. He sits down on the side of the walkway just to catch his breathe for a bit.

This time, however, he seemed to have new energy. He definitely looked more lively, wearing his glassess in this new place. He assumed it was another section of the dungeon he had been in, at first, but there wasn't any fog around and the atmosphere had completely changed up.

So if that wasn't the case what was going on? And where were the rest of his team...?

Adachi waves to someone passing by. "Hey! Can you tell me what's going on? I think I took a wrong turn and ended up here."

There's absolutely no malice or even fake energy in the tone of his voice. Nor did his breathe smell life cabbage. Extra weird.

And here I thought that ritual would be the last of the Old Man's tricks.

[The changes to Eva Ushiromiya were subtle- for one, her vampirism had disappeared. Secondly, the heaviness of grief that usually followed her around had disappeared. And finally, one of her gloves was missing, revealing a distinctive red mark on the back of her hand. One loosely shaped like the wings of the Ushiromiya family crest.

After all, she was the current magus of the prestigious Ushiromiya mage family.

In solving an obscure riddle left by her aging father, she had earned the sole right to inherit the family's magic circuits. And with that power, she'd been able to call on a Servant and step onto the stage of the Holy Grail War.

More than anything else, Eva needed a lot of money right now Eva sought to use her victory in the War to earn prestige and acknowledgement, and wealth to save her husband's troubled business and set up her son for success. But first, she needed to get home.

Eyeing her Command Seals a moment, she changed her mind, and approached the nearest person- ]

He appears more or less normal, except he's decked out in cleaning gear including a blue janitor's outfit and a bucket with various cleaning supplies. He looks around, some recognition finally blooming on his face. ]

[ ...did Levi Ackerman just say "cool"? ]


b) [ Find him furiously scrubbing a random object on the street. Maybe it's a window, a storefront, your car, your face. Whatever it was, there was apparently dirt on it, and he's offended enough by it to spray it with a cleaning agent and rub a rag on it, grumbling something about germs. ]

--2. The Ripper AU

a) [ He doesn't look too different outwardly, though the way he's dressed is reminiscent more of Kenny than his usual outfits, except that it's clean and free of any blood splatters. No Scout logo anywhere, no tailored suits, instead he's got a trenchcoat over a pretty unassuming outfit and, yes, the hat. He also doesn't seem to have his gear on, though whether or not he has it is anyone's guess. ]

[ He looks around in confusion, squinting against the sun, raising one arm to try and keep his eyes out of the direct assault by the light. ]

[ Spotting someone nearby (you!), he's either going to grab them by the lapels and drag them down to his face level, or put a hand on their shoulder in that distinct fake friendly way that usually signals you're five seconds away from getting mugged. ]

Oi. Where am I?

[ You may also encounter him lurking in an alleyway somewhere or scaling a building, trying to get a sense of his surroundings. ]


b) [ Later on, he can be encountered half-lounging in a restaurant seat, ordering an obscene amount of food (he may have just discovered that he apparently has a shitton of money here). He's frowning when he starts picking at his plate but his expression quickly shifts into awe. ]

Huh, not a speck of mold on this one. [ The waiter looks a little offended. "Of course not, sir, this is a restaurant!" ] So? What's the catch. It's actually rat meat, isn't it?


--3. Gintama AU

a) [ Whatever reality he's gotten hit with this time might make him harder to recognize... or perhaps the opposite, for those familiar with Yato clansmen. He's wearing (a more or less vaguely) chinese-styled outfit, wraps around his wrists and hands, round shades, and he's carrying a large, dark green parasol. His hair is also slightly different -- the side parted bangs and undercut are still there, but the back part is a little longer and gathered up into a short braid. He looks mildly irritated. ]

Oi, I was in the middle of something. What in the shit?

[ Oh no. Oh no, he's looking at you. With one smooth motion, he closes his umbrella and points it at you, and for some reason, it feels like a threat. ]

Did you do this?


b) [ Later in the day, you can find him sitting on a roof or a fence somewhere, umbrella positioned in a way that hides him from the setting sun but he's able to see the sky when he looks up. He's got a barrel of peaches next to him that looks half-empty. There's no way he ate it all by himself, right?.. ]

[ ...And he's casually spitting the pits out to fall down on the street. Oops. ]

[ Receptacle X - Stelle - doesn't look too much different from the norm when she finds herself blinking in front of one of the mirrors in the city. But those who know her very well will notice that the bright light in her eyes is dulled quite some, although there seems to be slight curiosity as she wanders aimlessly.

When she notices someone, she can't help but ask, her voice a little too polite, duller and with less emotion than usual: ]

Excuse me? You wouldn't happen to have seen a woman around my height with purple hair around, would you...? Goes by the name of 'Kafka'?

[ Alternatively, she can be found having her face planted on the windows of stores, houses, and apartments staring at what's within but not exactly doing anything about it. ]

[ You can find him sipping slowly on a St*rbucks drink, whether in a coffee shop or at the park, apparently immersed in... homework? ]


b) [ Or maybe you run into him earlier in the day, standing in front of a house in Sunwaning and staring at it. He's dressed in duck-patterned pajamas and seems to be going through some sort of inner crisis. ]

Excuse me. [ Oh no, he spotted you. ] Do you know if I was kidnapped?


--2. Be Forever Yorozuya AU (( cw: implied bombs, implied suicidal ideation ))

a) [ There aren't that many people in Nightwake wearing kimonos on the regular, so it's not like he's unrecognizable, despite looking like he's cosplaying as the series' villain, but he definitely comes off different. His very air feels more subdued, yet more dangerous somehow, colder, less whimsical. As if he'd somehow lost everything that kept him going overnight. ]

[ Maybe you pass him in the crowd and feel a dreadful sense of deja vu, as if an explosion is about to ring out -- but this time, nothing happens. Yet, at least. ]

[ Or maybe you catch him trying slip into the airship yard while carrying a suspicious looking contraption. ]


b) [ Alternatively, you run into him in a moment of relative peace, perhaps standing on a bridge overlooking a stream, or somewhere higher up where he can gaze upon the horizon, smoking an ornate-looking pipe. (If you know him even a little bit, you're likely aware that Katsura doesn't smoke. This guy seems used to it, though.) ]

[ He exhales and glances your way, not a hint of amusement in his face. ]

So, what does a man need to do to get executed around here?


--3. D*sney+ AU

a) [ If you ever thought that Zurako (or Katsura, even) would make a perfect princes... well, you would be right. In fact, she's walking down the street in a rather intricate kimono with a slew of woodland creatures following her in a haphazard row. Various birds, hedgehogs, bunnies, mice, chipmunks, a fox cub, maybe even a baby deer, you name it. Also a frilled lizard for some reason. ]

[ She's also ranting loudly into the ether, or maybe into the camera, it's hard to tell. ]

Unthinkable. Send me back this instant! Do you have any idea how aggressive D*sney is about copyright violations?!


b) [ Find her sitting on a meadow at the park, perhaps napping against a tree, with all the small animals surrounding her and looking up at her adoringly. Truly a sight out of a fairytale. ]

[ Maybe she needs a true love's kiss to wake her up... there's no poison apple, though. She does seem to be holding an unfinished rice ball in her hand, though. ]
