Rinku had booked out the biggest room at the karaoke bar for the entire night. Everyone who had so much as an acquaintanceship with Evangeline was invited, so it might get a little crowded even so. The machines had just been updated with songs from all over, allowing everyone to sing whatever they wanted – though maybe holding off on the inappropriate ones would be good, at least while the kids were awake.

Pizza had been trucked in, many different kinds. Of course they had plenty of pepperoni mushroom, the birthday girl’s favourite, but Rinku had also ordered everything from cheese to spinach feta to spicy pepper, shrimp and mayo, dill pickle, and a heavy, topping-laden one just labelled ALL. If there’s one you want, it’s probably there. Drinks were available to order from the bar, including all kinds of non-alcoholic options. Cake and ice cream also came in by request; the cake is a large chocolate one with an abstract creature that the cake decorator clearly thought constituted a “cool monster” on it.

Karaoke, discussion, food, presents at a table at the room door... what else did a party need?

That's not a bad idea. I think last time I didn't have enough practice in nonlethal sparring to be comfortable with it, but I could probably join a tournament without seriously maiming anybody now.

I've gotten much better with my magic, but I still don't think I could do it... compared to everyone else, I couldn't hold my ground at all.

[While she gained a lot of confidence in her abilities over the course of the past year, recent quests and other events puts a dent in it - and perhaps not for the worst, because she still lacks in experience and got out of many prior dangers due to luck rather than competency.]

[Evangeline's sympathy is always appreciated, but since Frieda's been practising her titan control with Bertholdt and Reiner, she's been feeling more confident about at least that power of hers!]

You know, if the tournament were held in the Titanic Dome again, I just might! It was built for forms like that, after all.

Actually, now I'm curious... how would you fight a titan?

Hm, well, it depends if I had time to prepare? If I knew I was fighting a titan I'd drink an enlarging potion to put us on even footing.

If I didn't have that potion on me... You get in and out from the back of the neck, right? So I'd try to climb up there to get at you.

That's right! Captain Levi would be proud of you.

[She and Levi may not be on good terms, but she knows that he's approve of this!]
