Rinku had booked out the biggest room at the karaoke bar for the entire night. Everyone who had so much as an acquaintanceship with Evangeline was invited, so it might get a little crowded even so. The machines had just been updated with songs from all over, allowing everyone to sing whatever they wanted – though maybe holding off on the inappropriate ones would be good, at least while the kids were awake.

Pizza had been trucked in, many different kinds. Of course they had plenty of pepperoni mushroom, the birthday girl’s favourite, but Rinku had also ordered everything from cheese to spinach feta to spicy pepper, shrimp and mayo, dill pickle, and a heavy, topping-laden one just labelled ALL. If there’s one you want, it’s probably there. Drinks were available to order from the bar, including all kinds of non-alcoholic options. Cake and ice cream also came in by request; the cake is a large chocolate one with an abstract creature that the cake decorator clearly thought constituted a “cool monster” on it.

Karaoke, discussion, food, presents at a table at the room door... what else did a party need?

[Rinku finds it and shows Evangeline the number so she can punch it in. She sits down excitedly as Evangeline starts the song.]

[It's not a happy song, but it is pretty badass, especially when the chorus kicks in. Evangeline has a strong voice, not professional singer level but definitely enough to hit all the notes.]

[Rinku cheers and waves penlights, turned to Evangeline's shade of blue. She's not doing any complicated wotagei moves like a dedicated idol fan might, she's still kind of new to all that and only as it interacts with her own sphere, but she's doing the basic waves, shakes, and rolls while chanting wherever seems appropriate.]

[It's not like Evangeline knows anything about wotagei either, she's fine.

She finishes the song and takes a bow.]

And you're always out meeting new people! Like if I see someone who's obviously not human I've never seen before, I usually say "my sister probably hit on you the day you got here," and every time they go "oh, yeah, she did, she's really nice and cool!"

That's okay. I mean, this party is too much for Mecchan and Hina-chan so I didn't let them out in here, and it's still fun, right?

Did you like your presents? Mecchan and Hina-chan were really proud that I let them pick their own gifts this year.

Yeah! I think he heard you when we were talking about foraging, and he knows you like books. He's working really hard on understanding them.

I bet they'll be happy! I'm gonna let them out later in a quiet room so they can have some of the pizza and cake. Shrimp and mayo is Mecchan's favourite, and Hina-chan just likes food in general, I think.

Didn't get her a blood pizza, huh? ...Do they offer that?

I don't think so, but I brought her some juice boxes. I think we're not allowed to have blood bags in a restaurant since it's a biohazard... I'll let her have some at home, though. Actually, could a blood pizza exist? Could you make blood solid? Or I guess bake it with blood instead of something else?

You could have it as a sauce, probably? That seems like it'd be the easiest way.

Hmm, I dunno! I'd ask the library if they have something about it, but maybe they'd think it was weird.
