Sometime after a less than stellar conference call, Reiner sends an invitation to everyone from his world. "You're Invited to a Holiday Party," the store-bought invitation reads in swirling seasonally decorated letters. How very fancy!

The invitation specifies three things. Number one: it is a celebration of the holidays. Number two: it is a celebration of a year of a successful non-aggression pact. Number three: everyone is invited to bring a "plus one."

Surely, nothing will go wrong with this plan. Surely!

The party itself takes place at an inn in Stormreach, part of which has been reserved by Reiner. The inn is made of stone and wood, its aesthetic closely resembling buildings in Paradis. There are several spacious rooms available: places for eating, places for mingling, cozy corners for more private conversations, and access to the inn's bar.

• In one of those cozy spaces, one might find a lit candle known as a Candle of True Feelings. In its presence, people understand their feelings better and feel inspired to talk about them. How very curious!
  
  
• Of note: magic supersedes technology in Stormreach. One is far more likely to run across potions and crystals than gaming systems… But that hasn't stopped Reiner from setting up a gaming system in a corner, anyway.
  
  
• If one steps outside for a breath of (cold) fresh air, they'll find themselves close to the clock tower. Local legend claims that those who kiss on top of it are destined to never breakup. However, that legend has not been tested … yet.
  
  
• During the party, a table is filled with various gifts for the "+1s," created by those from Paradis and Marley. The gifts include knitted clothing (scarves, mittens, socks), chocolates, sweet baked goods, and fidget toys made of wood or stone. Feel free to partake, +1s!

Naturally, there is a wide assortment of food—some of which is best described as "ungodly spicy"—with a particular focus on potato-based foods. Also, peaches and pineapples, for Reasons™.

Sisu was a little susprised to have gotten an invite, but she's happily here regardless! If anyone asks she will proudly say Levi asked her. Because he's her new fruit buddy. As a gift to celebrate she's brought with her an assortment of fresh fruit and smoothies.

Some of the smoothies have more of a holiday vibe, with apple-cinnamon combinations and other very fitting holiday ingredients. There's also a strange amount of peach-related smoothies - in different combinations. All of the smoothies have the name 'Kumandra Sunshine' on their cups and Sisu will happily explain it's a smoothie bar that she and her girl Raya are working on.

"Happy Yuletide! I'm Sisu. I don't know very many people here, but I'm eager to learn about them!"

Mostly she's hanging around the main area, possibly asking how the smoothies taste like occasionally. Or trying very spicy food with results of looking like she's about to cry.

Sisu-chan! The smoothies look great! [Rinku bounces on her heels.] You made all those just for this?

Oh! Most of them were made by Raya, but I helped! But yeah they were made for this party. Though most of them will also be on our menu.

Wow, cool! You're adding them to the menu? Oh, I guess lots of places back on Earth have seasonal menu items too, huh? It's always pretty exciting. Plus these gotta help with how spicy some of the food is.

Yeah! I heard about 'seasonal' menus so it sounded fun!

[They have to think about something fun for Valentines.]

... as long as you find the right smoothie. The ones with bananas work, but I tried one with mostly citrus fruit and my mouth was even worse.

Eh? But mango milkshakes really help with it... Then again, mango isn't citrus, huh. I've lived in places where we ate a lot of spicy food, but I don't know much about plants.

I mean, yeah, mango heals everything! But it could have also been just so spicy nothing helped? I'm not actually so sure myself. I should probably test it with something less spicy.

I never knew Reiner-san liked spicy food so much! Maybe I should have gotten him that hot sauce set I saw in the department store, in that "gifts for men" display.

Well, there's always next time! Or you can just give him a gift just because giving gifts is super fun!

Levi is pleasantly surprised both by the contribution to the bar and the fact that there seems to be some kind of peach homage being paid to him, considering the selection. He's definitely holding one of those Kumandra Sunshine cups more often than he's not, but it just so happens that he decides to finally try a new one when Sisu is nearby.

He takes a sip from the apple-cinnamon smoothie and seems to freeze up for a moment before his eyes find his new fruit buddy with a certain sense of urgency to them.

"...What's in this? Definitely apple, but it's... different."

He may or may not have even heard of cinnamon before.

Sisu smiles happily.

"Oh, there's cinnamon! It's a traditional spice for these kinds of holidays, and it goes really well with apple", she explains. "Do you like it?"

"Sin-a-mon," he repeats.

He frowns slightly and stares at the smoothie for a moment before taking another sip, as if it is of utmost importance that he is absolutely certain about his answer.

"Yes," he decides, his face brightening just a little, subtle as it is with his barely-there expressions. "Yes, I like it."

He's always liked apples well enough already, but this just makes him feel so warm and cozy. It's like drinking a hug.

Sisu brightens up as well (somehow, she's already very bright).

"I'm glad! We tried to be careful not to add too much of the spice. Some of the ones I tested were a little much, but I think we got it just right now."

There's a sense of pride in her voice as she speaks about their smoothie testing. "We want to make sure we have the recipes right before we open, after all."

It's the fanciest damn apple flavor he's ever tasted. Maybe he should look into including this combination in his ever-growing tea collection.

"You did," Levi confirms, continuing to slowly sip away at it, his expression bordering on fond as Sisu talks excitedly about the smoothie refinement process.

"If you ever want more opinions, I'd be happy to help test some," he supplies after a moment. Is he seeing an opportunity for more free smoothies? Well, it certainly doesn't make the task less appealing, but he is genuinely offering help as well.

"That would be great, actually! It would be good to get a third opinion. Especially when at some point you stop tasting differences in smoothies. It's why it's been taking a while longer to open the bar", Sisu admits with a laugh. "So having someone like you on board might help a lot. But I have to ask Raya first."

"Of course," Levi says as if that's obvious, and it is. He wouldn't expect her to go behind her partner's back about something that involves their shared business. "Let me know."

[Frieda is relieved to see a familiar face among the +1s! She waves at Sisu as she approaches her.]

Sisu! It's so nice to see you here! I didn't realise you knew more people from my world.

Hey, Frieda! Oh, yes, I know Levi! And I think I talked to Reiner on Cinder, actually.

[She's all smiles, proud to know Levi.]

We bonded over fruit with Levi.

Over fruit..?

[Honestly, in hindsight it's no wonder that he'd enjoy those - there probably were no fresh fruits to be had in the underground. Sisu doesn't know about the animosity between them, so Frieda takes the opportunity to ask:]

What fruits does he like? And you, for that matter?

He loves peaches, but also likes other fruits as well, like apples, and bananas in smoothies. Oh and he told me what was good for my bowel movement! Dried plums, by the way.

[Yes, that was important to say, clearly.]

Me? I'm a mango kinda dragon. Though I love a lot of different fruit. We're evening opening a smoothie bar with Raya.

[Peaches seem like an arbitrary choice... but honestly, why not! They are tasty. As Sisu enthusiastically shares Levi's digestion advice, Frieda's face briefly turns a little blank. Why is this man going around doling out the same kind of advice as her mother...

Ultimately, she decides to focus on the smoothie bar.]

Oh, you definitely have to tell me when you're open! I'll want to come by! It'll be in Solarpeak, right?

Yeah! We're working hard on it. Taste testing smoothies is a lot of hard work... so's getting fresh ingredients.

[urtitan]

[You know what? That's fair.]

The Jungle of Judgement is the best location for fresh tropical fruits I can think of since you can just teleport there! Of course, it's not without its dangers... but you're adventurers, aren't you? In doubt, you can always take a few more people along! And with a Hammerspace Purse, you can take a large harvest home.

[Clearly, she should be the logistics- and supply chain manager for this venture!]

Reiner is getting himself a smoothie when he spots a guest on the verge of tears.

Oh. Oh, shit.

For a second, Reiner considers fetching whoever invited Sisu, figuring they'd be better suited to soothing whatever's wrong. Unfortunately, he doesn't know whose plus-one she is. What is he supposed to do? Call out to everyone and attract attention to her distress?

"Hey," he ends up saying, his voice low as he steps closer, concern on his face. "Are you all right?"

Sisu is wiping her eyes and nodding when Reiner asks her a question.

"I am... it's just the spices are really getting to me", she says. "I didn't expect it to be this much!"
