A Sparkle About You	The Influencer Gala is coming up, highlighting new, existing and up-and-coming stars of the stream! For this, the city is encouraging even non-influencers to join in the fun. Do you have what it takes to influence someone in under a minute and shine your image to the masses?	Influencer stations will be set up around the shopping and scenic areas headed by NPC influencers, or even PC ones! The goal is to help train normal folk into helping them promote themselves, a product, or even their cat, and stream it! There's a variety of things to promote, performances to do and fun to have! There's a goal of five strangers to train and stream, whoever does it will be rewarded (insert a cute reward here), so be the stranger or the influencer here!	500 moon coins + a sample gift box of whatever you promoted
Walk Walk Fuss Me Baby	A high-end boutique’s wares were sabotaged by a manufacturing error and the owner is absolutely distressed! To make up for lost sales, they want you to walk the catwalk and show off what they have remaining while wearing special masquerade style masks to go with the outfits. But can you really be yourself under the glitz and glam?	Certain masks start having strange influences. These are all based on the color the character wears. Red, Pink: The person becomes more needy for attention and will do all it takes to charm people for it and become more alluring to those looking on them. White, Blue: The person is melancholic and mellow, the world seems so lovely that they grow dazed and almost dreamy and will start to grow cuddlier and affectionate with anyone watching them. Green, Orange: The person becomes more competitive and will do anything to make sure no one stands in their way, and may want to pick fights with those not looking at them right. Black, Purple: The person becomes paranoid about everything and doubtful about themselves and needs reassurance and will grow desperate for it. Let Me Be Your Sing-Song	Singing has been heard from some snow patches and caves and people are finding themselves drawn to the enchantment melodies and wandering deeper into the frigid zones, singing along and not returning. Something is out there, but what? Find out for me, please, and bring back the source of the songs before I lose more adventurers!	The travelers and adventurers who haven't returned are being turned into little ice sprites, winged creatures and enchanted to sing and play all day long until they become trapped in icicles who amplify any singing in their direction. To save them, people will have to sing their own songs in a duet and complete it to make the icicles melt and reform the adventurers!	1000 moon coins + a music box to record and store the enchanting melody, good for three uses
It Had to Be Glue	There's a strange sticky substance that has been forming near the springs, and I've found that it's helping some warm weather herbs grow while the substance is on the ground, even in the coldest temperatures. I'm curious about it, and will pay whoever brings me back six jars of it to study.	The substance is a naturally forming glue from the residue of ice-slugs and fertilizer that works as a growth formula for anything planted within it, and can be used as a natural adhesive and gum for cosmetics! It has no smell, but it adds a glittering shine when used in art pieces! It only grows plants in frigid temperatures, however… and the kitten-sized ice-slugs making it can get very aggressive if they find people stealing it, so everyone should be prepared to slice through the glue with a warmth-imbued weapon!	800 moon coins + a jar of Cooldhesive
Sugar, oh Honey Honey	I happened upon the sweetest treat during an expedition out and want to find it again because it saved my life and energized me. It looked like a strawberry, but made of ice! I'll pay for anyone who can bring me back a small box of them!	The treat is actually a Glaciberry, in which the snow-bees store their honey, which can be used as a sugar and sweetener substitute. They're usually left alone, but have a sweet flavor and scent that's attractive to Growlpoohs (a type of terrifying and adorable small bear, who will try and attack people if they see the berry is plucked). Find them before you get mauled for desserts! (Or bring a bear because they're cute when they have sweets.)	800 moon coins + a Glaciberry Dessert

Spring Segment

This Isn't Riding Like I Know	There's some extra space at the Farmlands that we've set up for a very fun competition. It's called the Partner Carrying contest! Run around a track with various obstacles while carrying the person you love the most. While the contest is called Partner Carrying, it could also be a sibling or a friend, too. Some of the obstacles are a little bit muddy, but what's a little mess when you're having fun?	The obstacles are filled with different things made with what nature provides, such as going through mud, jumping over logs, jumping over logs into water, and various other things. Be creative! How someone carries their partner is up to them, but the one carried isn't allowed to touch the ground during the race. Getting wet or muddy is naturally allowed. People are allowed to partner up even with strangers, the natives running the competition won't do a background check.	2000 Moon Coins for making past the obstacle course and a "Clean Mud Off Things Instantly" Spell for participating
Shake your Groove Thing	There's a dancing troupe in town, and they claim that their dances can stimulate hearts and bring joy and blessings to all. I think those blessings involve my wallet, though. As I watched them dance, I kept giving them more and more credits to keep dancing! I'm broke now! Do something about them!! They were seen escaping to the Spring Segment.	They're thieves! They're using a mind-altering dance spell during their performances. The goal is to sabotage them and reveal to the world that these jerks can't dance at all, and break the spell with a real one! If the quest taker doesn't know how to dance, they'll be given a pair of dancing shoes that will let them move it, move it for fifteen minutes to break the spell. They might have to fight the criminal dancers after, so be ready for a real show!	Dancing shoes
❗High Risk Quest❗ A Hundred Needles	Cacti are usually something you find from the desert, right? Well, I saw a bunch of them in the Spring Segment. Not just that, but they kept changing places every time I looked away. It's like one of those games where you need to freeze before someone spots you moving... but with cacti? In the spring segment? I was too afraid to approach them any more than that, but maybe it's worth checking out what they are?	Cactifolk are monsters that have risen from the Darkness due to someone leaving their dead cactus too close to the barrier. They move every time no one's looking by uprooting themselves from the ground and creating a set of legs and arms. Some of them even create faces. If someone gets too close to investigate, they stop pretending to be regular cacti and attack with needle projectiles. These needles cause a lot of damage and having a hundred of them stuck to somebody will kill them (99 does not, but it's really painful) due to the needles having an essence that will activate at that moment. When desperate, they will try to "hug" their opponents - by body slamming into the opponent they're fighting. Their needles act as a good defense against weapons, but magic does at least decent damage. To deactivate any of them, one must flip them upside down and pluck out a needle... or alternatively tickle them with a feather. The dark energy surrounding the monsters will make otherwordly abilities less effective against them. And yes, these are inspired by a certain recurring Final Fantasy monster.	9000 Moon Coins

Crawling In My Skin CW/TW: plant parasites	Strange Plant monsters have been appearing all over the north area of the Jungle of Judgement. These monsters, like everything else, don't approach the Temple of Life, but they do approach anyone who wanders away from the place. A friend of mine got touched by one and now has a weird mark on his hand - and it keeps spreading! Please help me figure out how to help him.	Parasite Plants are monsters that will attempt to leave their mark on people. The mark starts spreading, attempting to take over their whole body and eventually root the person into the ground. It hurts quite a bit as the mark slowly spreads. It will take approx. 2 weeks for the plant to take over one's body completely. Samples suggest that keeping the mark in cold water will halt the growth - and making a potion out of the leaves of the monsters will kill it completely. The plants themselves are very weak against cold things.	5000 Moon Coins
Motion Motivation	On the shores of the Great Ocean Lake, there are a variety of seashells. One seashell out of twenty is a special one that is essential for medicine that help with motion sickness. You will recognize a seashell with the right properties by touching them and feeling a cool sensation coming from the shell. I would travel to find them myself, but I am a victim of motion sickness and the beach can be a little dangerous without powers. But I will reward you with the potion and some moon coins for the trouble.	The seashells come in a variety of colors and shapes. There are other seashells with magical properties as well, as mermaids who come up occasionally would tell: one that lets you sense when rain is about start (feels moist despite having been in the sand for a good while) and another that can turn seawater into something one can drink (feels soft, despite having a hard shell). Like the one mentioned in the quest, these seashells are one in twenty regular.	1000 moon coins per five seashells, motion sickness medicine
Not My Wonderwall	Do not trust the oasis that appears on the Deserter's Desert. I was taking a break on a beach near the Lighthouse when suddenly I started feeling thirsty. Instead of going back to the airship, I noticed an oasis nearby and decided it would be faster to go there than back. But once I got there, I was almost eaten by what looked like an octopus. In the middle of the sand! The oasis was apparently an illusion it can create, since it disappeared right after. A dangerous beast. Might be a good idea to get rid of it!	Sand Octopi are a giant species of octopus that live in the sand. They come to the surface only to lure animals and people alike into their illusions that look like a refreshing oasis. Once the prey is close enough, they will reveal themselves from the sand and try to eat whoever is there. Their tentacles feel rough and have the ability to stun someone - but if you slice them off they won't at least grow back!	3000 Moon Coins

Autumn Segment

Golden Repairs	A vein of special gold has been found from the rocks near the Lake of Healing. Much like the lake's restorative powers, this gold will fix anything and leave a golden mark in its wake. We've heard there's an art called 'kintsugi' where you fix broken things like this. We would most definitely like some of this special gold, more of which can be probably found from the forest, but recently there's been more monsters roaming around. We will reward people for any rocks they can find with the gold in them.	Kintsugi Rocks can be found all around the lake and north of it, as they have been formed by the lake's healing powers. The melted gold can be used on various items as well as on people (the scars will turn golden). It's said to bring good luck to anyone and protect the cracks and wounds from reopening. The gold attracts Apprentice Crows: a species of crows that are learning under the Warlock Crows and do small elemental spells, like conjure fire or water at anyone with any sticks they find.	4000 Moon Coins, Bottle of Liquid Kintsugi Gold
That's My Internet	The areas near Autumn Segment have had very bad connection lately. Anyone who lives nearby the river surrounding the city will tell you about how they've died in games due to bad connections. No one else believes me, but I swear every time connections go bad, these bioluminescent moths appear out of nowhere. Could they be connected to the case? Hehe, see what I did there?	Wi-Fi Moths are a species of special moths that feed on a variety of electricity and data connections by landing on wires and boxes that produce them. This time they have taken an interest in internet connections. A few moths wouldn't pose a problem, but there's a huge amount of them flying around. They escape to the Autumn Segment after they've eaten they share, glowing bright in their bioluminescent light. Capturing them will allow the person to boost their internet connection for a while, especially if they keep feeding the moths electricity (like full batteries).	500 Moon Coins, Wi-Fi Moth
❗High Risk Quest❗ I Came In Like a Landslide CW/TW: buried alive	Due to the increase in rain, Autumn Segment also has had an increase in mud. This, in turn, has created landslides. They're threatening the barriers built for natives to safely walk outside. On top of that, some people have mysteriously been swallowed by mud, never to be seen again. It's like a part of the landslides are alive. We need power holders to help out to manage the mud as well as they can.	The mud has been corrupted by the Darkness, making it into various Mud Monsters. These monsters take different shapes and forms to attack people and eat them to make their mud even stronger. People stuck inside the mud can survive for a while due to small air pockets inside the mud, but the longer it takes, the more likely they drown or suffocate. Their weaknesses and strengths are easily relatable to regular mud. The hard thing about the monsters is there are a lot of them, usually even at the same time. The dark energy surrounding the monsters will make otherwordly abilities less effective against them.	9000 Moon Coins

We specialize in fantasies and have several costumes for people to act out their dream scenarios together. Or if you're unsure, you can get a free assessment of what kind of costume would make your figure even more sexy. The costumes also have a magical property of relieving stress the more you get into the role, so it's both sexy and nice for your psyche! Anyone who buys an outfit will get a voucher for a spa, located in the Underground Mall.	The costumes come in a variety of sizes and looks. What they failed to tell in the quest is that the costumes also make someone extremely horny if worn too long without getting into an intimate situation, so buying a costume for a regular party might be a bad idea. Under(wear)cover Mission CW/TW: Public Nudity	A casino in the Red Light District is hosting a competition, where you play with your clothes on the line instead of your money - but if you win you get a million Moon Coins. It's basically Strip Betting. The problem is, they're cheating and we know it. We need people to join in on the competition and find evidence of the staff playing dirty. The worst part is, if you lose all your clothes, they will kick you out into the street naked. Don't ask how I know...	The clothes you bet with start with accessories and proceed to underwear at the end. Giving up during the contest will lead to the same results as losing, except you at least have some clothes on your back. Dressing in multiple layers of clothes isn't forbidden, but the casino's temperature is made very warm on purpose.	4000 Moon Coins for evidence, 1,000,000 Moon Coins if you win

City Crime Quests
This questboard on an app on the phone and is only unlockable if your character has received a (handwaved) code for it from one of the crime organizations or just criminals of Nightwake. Another way is to hack your way in if you know it exists.
You don't need mod permission to do these, just make sure you find a reasonably way for your character to get there.
Anyone can be a victim of these quests.
Should players doing these quests wish for IC consequences, they may report their character here - or just assume that NPC law enforcement characters are on a lookout for them.

I rob people, especially those who are rich and famous. But the problem lately has been that I have the police on my trail, and I need more criminals to appear in their radar. I will leave stolen goods at specific locations marked on the app, so you can get them from those places. Later I will post a location to pick up your payment.	This person does a lot of robberies and there's a lot to be framed. Frame an NPC or a player character with their permission - or try to leave helpful hints about whom the crook actually is, if you're using the app for fighting crime.	3000 Moon Coins
The Ace of Spades	Here's a list of people my boss wants to have beaten up. It's too much of a hassle, but I bet there are people on here who could do it for me. You'll get 75% of the pay I would get for the jobs, too - that is, as long as you don't get caught. You don't need to kill anyone, just make sure they feel the punishment and leave an Ace of Spades card next to their beaten up form. These people have angered the boss, but not enough to kill them yet. If it was just killing, I could have done it myself.	The people are a variety of native NPCs, including Law Enforcement officers and Research Center staff. Who knows, maybe one of the player characters has been named as well.	7000 Moon Coins

It Had to be Glue

[Like with most of these quests, Erenville chose the ones that usually didn't require an adventurer. Ever since his encounter a couple months prior that had him injured nearly mortally, he had been a lot more studious with his seasonal powers training. While he wasn't as confident in his abilities as he would like to be, he felt he could appropriately defend himself against some slugs should they get mad at him for appropriating their residue left behind.

Naturally, he went for the stuff he could find without them present. But that didn't mean he didn't end up encountering them anyway. Slugs could be delicate creatures, so as a few attempted to aggressively push him away, the viera raised a small earthen wall to gently shove them away so he could finish his work. He had three jars filled already.]

Yes, I know you are angry, but please mind yourself. You are not being harmed as I do this.

[He held a dagger that was infused with warmth, per the suggestion of the quest giver, and he meticulously sliced through the glue like substance. It was a little tiring, splitting his attention like this. His ears swiveled and swayed with every sound around him as well. It wouldn't do to caught unawares by something more than an icy slug, yes?]

[Another day, another adventure into the coldest segment. Erenville sighed softly, seeing his breath forming in front of him as he deftly cut into the stem of a Glaciberry. This was a much more straightforward quest, at least.

He had a bag over his shoulder, where a small box was within that held a few berries. At least it wasn't a lot that he needed to retrieve. But the coldest places always seemed to have the most aggressive creatures, even in Eorzea. Not that he was foolish enough to believe other segments had it easier, but the weather seemed to make it feel worse.

Erenville froze, ears standing up straight, as he heard a sound and a growl to accompany it. He turned and found a small, rather adorable bear growling quite menacingly at him. It began charging at him and the viera was quick to stop it in its tracks with a spike of earth. Not to impale it, mind you, but causing it to run straight into it. It fell with a pained cry. It held its head, whimpering, before crying in earnest. Erenville sighed, oh dear.

He walked over and knelt beside the creature and held out a Glaciberry. The bear stopped crying and stared at the berry before snatching it and eating it with glee. Erenville ended up handing it another.]

If you help me find more, I'll give you some in return. But no biting or mauling me, deal?

[It nodded excitedly as it ate the second berry. Well, at least he won't get attacked now?]

[No, no it wouldn't. But that's why Aymeric is here, too. Two of the slugs are crawling towards Erenville, as angrily as slugs can crawl, before they get scooped up with a large branch with two more of their kin. Bearing said branch from the other end, Aymeric sets them all down a ways away.]

Shoo, shoo! [He prods them with the branch. No need to draw his sword - they don't seem to be that bad. However, there were more of them approaching. His sense of danger raised another notch.]

[Carrying someone through what essentially amounted to an obstacle course? Count her in. Kisara knew she was strong enough to something like that. The only issue she had was that she didn't exactly have a partner. She was still relatively knew and none of her friends had arrived here either.

It made getting close tricky, she had only been here for about a month so her Spring abilities weren't quite up to snuff yet and there was only so much her elemental magic could do as she relied on defense and close quarter combat, primarily.

Of course, she could try rushing the thing. You know what, she will try rushing it.]

She looks at Kisara, taking in her overall build and apparent level of fitness with a quick glance. Even though she doesn't look extremely muscular, Lynette knows that appearances can be deceiving when it comes to physical abilities. ]

[Wendy had found the Cactifolk easily enough, her dragon-quality sense of smell leading her to them quickly. That was where the trouble began. The cactus had launched its needles at her once she had gotten close, but she had managed to avoid most of it. Now she's caught in a stalemate, the Cactusfolk unable to hit her with its needles through her wind, and her unable to hit it with her clumsy and inexperienced earth magic.]

[It was well known at Fairy Tail that Wendy has a sweet tooth only second to Erza, so of course this job interested her. She actually did remember the teleport crystals this time, so she's set off walking to the area the request pointed to. However, she's not quite paying full attention, visions of delicious desserts clouding her mind. If anything hostile managed to find her like this, she'd be a sitting duck.]

[ anyone searching for Kintsugi rocks might notice a large scarred, serpentine beast picking its way around the lake's shores, nose to the ground and black forked tongue regularly flicking out. it'd be easy to mistake for a new kind of monster, particularly with the unsettling feeling it might inspire in those with good intuition or animal instincts— except it's wearing a leather pack between its first set of shoulders, and when it spots other people its ears prick forward, tentatively friendly. ]

Once she determines that Stelle is breathing, the lazy part of her debates continuing to walk by since surely someone will help them out soon. On the other hand, since she's new, she doesn't know how long that would take and it's probably a good idea to maintain a generally helpful profile for now.

Once that decision is made, Lynette stops near Stelle and her pile of gachapon balls. ]

[ Ever since he arrived, Leo had been holed up in his room, refusing to leave.

There is a lot he can take: he has seen friends die - sometimes in his arms - and burning away, he has seen violence, and he has drowned in violence to the point he became it. He has done horrible things that now he can't find a way to justify. But right before he came into this world, his life was spiralling in a way that Leo certainly couldn't take, in a way he didn't comprehend and in a way he didn't know how to face. Becoming a murderer himself (maybe? he isn't sure if he actually killed that person), watching Ryoki letting it happen, and then watching Ryoki taking that step with such glee... Leo can't take that.

and then he was kidnapped into Ellipsa and he has no idea what to do here, what to say, or how to react! There are seasons and powers and magic, and whatever the hell they tried to explain to him, but instead Leo just ran away from that and hid in his room. He thinks this is a normal reaction, actually.

And he'd continue to hide in his room forever if only he didn't remember that this free accommodation would soon be gone. And he needs to get some money to continue to pay for it. Back in his world, Halves don't work (the government always gave them what they needed) and Leo is only 16, he never actually worked in his whole life and didn't expect to have to! Bullshit, he tells himself, but he eventually finds himself staring at the quest board and what sounds easy enough.

Something quick, something he can get over with, get paid, and keep his dumb house.
The sticky substance thing sounds easy. How hard can it be to gather jars of goo?

After walking for what felt like forever, Leo arrives at the springs while wearing a heavy coat, a backpack with the jars, and sporting the grumpiest person any teenager could have during a snow day. He is not impressed with the snow or the cold!!! ]

[It never ceases to amaze Frieda how vast and marvellous the multiverse is. Among humankind, her people may be a monstrous anomaly, but there are so many more forms of life out there! Passion Flare, for one, is something else altogether, she's sure of it. She's so radiant, she almost seems like a goddess.

When they found the frozen sprites and the other woman started singing without embarrassment or hesitation, Frieda was even more awestuck. Little by little, the melody soothed her mind, and at some point, she had the confidence to join in on the song.]

Sorry, Passion Flare, she's from a crapsack world and has been having a particularly time recently, so her first impression here may have resulted in more idolisation than necessary appropriate...]

[Frieda is still a little baffled at the concept of an 'influencer'. Isn't the term far too blatant? Who'd willingly let themselves be influenced to do or believe something such a person says? But when she passes by one of the stations in the city, she can't help but watch.

She's no stranger to (semi-)public speaking, having preached to the royal family's inner circle back home many times. So far, everyone here seems to have been working together well enough, but surely, some encouragement towards kindness and compassion can't hurt! She approaches the person staffing the station, whether they're a professional influencer or a fellow amateur.]

[Whoever encouraged Frieda to participate in this quest did her a favour: She's distracted from her worries for a while, earning a nice sum of money in a safe way, and making for a different sight than usual in her long, form-fitting, cape-adorned black dress. After a brief training, she walks the runway without a hitch! Are you paying attention to her?

Whether you did or not, she'll find you afterwards as she and the other amateur models mingle with the audience (not least to allow the latter to take a closer look at the fine couture - hopefully there will be some buyers!). She calls out and waves - but does she get noticed? If not, she'll come over anyway, but her mask may have affected her mood by then!]

3) It Had to Be Glue

[Once again, Frieda is out in the Winter Segment in her white fur-hooded cold weather outfit... with a questmate, of course. Having found a section of ground covered in the glittering glue-like substance they're looking for, she wonders how to proceed.]

Do we take it back with a few layers of soil..? We can't very well scrape it off, can we?

4) Sugar, oh Honey Honey

[Strawberries made of ice... Frieda wants to see them! Alas, when she and her companion locate a patch, they find a growlpooh already eating them. They observe the small bear from a distance.]

Do you think it'll leave any for us? Or should we distract it or scare it away?

[She doesn't want to kill a creature that isn't attacking them... but it might well do that if they try to take its sweet treats away from it!]

5) This Isn't Riding Like I Know

[Frieda can't help but feel happy about the establishment of the farmlands in the Spring Segment. It's one of the real marks of progress they're made so far, after all - and with this fun competition being held there, it's easy to forget that they're surrounded by dangers behind the safe barrier, at least for a while! She doesn't seem shy of the mud and dirt at all as she gets ready with her partner.]

Who'll be carrying whom?

[Depending on how blatant the size difference is, that may have been a tongue-in-cheek question!]

6) A Hundred Needles

[Mysteriously moving cacti... given that this quest doesn't sound too dangerous, Frieda embarks on it with a companion. It doesn't take them long to locate one of the out-of-place plants! She inspects the area around it.]

Is this a trail..? These footprints look strange.

[They're all round, with no sign of toes or anything!]

7) Motion Motivation

[Frieda is happy for any excuse to visit the Great Ocean Lake, even if she has to spend at least part of her stay at the beach rather than underwater this time. Equipped with sunscreen, her trusty sunhat, and a basket, she searches for the special seashells!]

Another one! They really feel much colder than the others!

[If things continue like this, she and her questmate will earn a lot of money for relatively easy work! Of course, the shell search also provides an opportunity to catch up with each other.]

8) Motion Motivation

[A disappearing oasis sounds like a fata morgana, but apparently this one is the work of a tricky predator. Frieda may have little to no combat expertise, but hopefully, her quest partner does - unless it's someone she might feel comfortable assuming her titan form around. In any case, they're in luck: The oasis appears.]

There it is! It really came out of nowhere, like a miracle! Now, how do we tackle the octopus? I can't see it... do you think it's in the pond?

9) Golden Repairs

[Besides the high reward, the beneficial properties of the gold make Frieda undertake the quest in the remote reaches of the Autumn Segment (luckily relatively accessible thanks to the teleport crystal in the Flooded Woods). She's curious about the Lake of Healing - can it really heal any wounds? She doesn't need such wonders thanks to her titan powers, but what a blessing it has to be for most other people!

Given that it's a body of water, she can't help but want to go in, so she gives her questmate an apologetic smile.]

Would it be alright for you if I used my Mermaid Necklace to dive for rocks in the lake? Or do you want to come with me? Can you transform into an aquatic animal?

10) That's My Internet

[Frieda lives in the city centre, but those reports of moths affecting people's internet connection bother her regardless. What if the moths spread across the city? She doesn't want to end up having issues! (Never mind that she's only had internet for the last few months of her life!) As she and her companion set out into the Autumn Segment, she wonders:]

Should we lure them in? I brought some batteries, and we have our devices... and I bought these nets and this insect box with air holes!

[As far as she recalls, the Research Centre expressed no interest in studying the insects, but as usual, she doesn't have the heart to just kill them!]

Why, to join the Nightwake City Police Department!]

-- I summarise: You'll join a great work culture, have access to all sorts of nice gadgets, and you get put on a really good health insurance scheme! And that's without going into the discounts we get at various businesses. Above all, it simply feels good to keep Nightwake City safe and free of crime! There really is no downside to joining the NCPD!

[What do you say? That quest isn't on the quest board? Well, no, but it was last year! And since the cabbage kites are back, fluttering around in the sky above the city, Hijikata can once more be found in various locations trying to lure them in with mayonnaise, expecting no reward but the cabbage bodies left behind as the creatures' souls ascend.]

Come, come, cabbage kites! Try this gourmet mayonnaise! I saved it from Christmas for you! But if you don't like it, I still have the good Mayorin mayonnaise in store!

3) Let Me Be Your Sing-Song

[People going missing in the Winter Segment means that Hijikata's out there along with his questmate, bundled up in his hooded Shinsengumi coat and an unusually nice scarf and keeping his ears perked.]

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this. If we plug our ears, we can't hear the melody and follow it, but if we do hear it, we'll probably be screwed. Maybe one of us should plug up and follow the other one once the music hits?

4) It Had to Be Glue / Sugar, oh Honey Honey

[Whether you're out here to harvest a strange sticky substance that allows anything to grow on it, or delicious glaciberries, chances are you took Hijikata along as an escort to ensure you don't get eaten by monsters! As a fire wielder, he's well-equipped to tackle most threats in the Winter Segment.]

So, what's the stuff we're looking for supposed to be good for again?

[Has he not been paying attention?! Sure, he's only here as the muscle, but he could at least have read the quest description!]

5) This Isn't Riding Like I Know

[Honestly, Hijikata isn't one for wife-carrying competitions. He's mainly out here to guard the event - after all, the farmlands have been a repeat target of dangerous monsters in recent weeks and months. Right now, he can be found casually smoking while observing the lively crowd.]

[Alas, if you do need someone to carry you, he'll be all too easily convinced... he does have a competitive streak! Convincing him to let himself be carried may be a bit more of a challenge (please mind his fragile masculinity)!)]

[It's always something, isn't it? Granted, teleporting(?) cacti sound fairly harmless as far as Hijikata is concerned. Before long after setting out into the Spring Segment, he and his questmate already stumble upon one!]

Well, that was easy! I say we dig it up and take it back for the researchers to take a look at.

7) Crawling In My Skin

[As someone who bears a mark on his hand - Command Seals signifying his pact with Medusa - Hijikata immediately has misgivings about the mark left behind by the plant monsters, and when he learns of its painful spread, it's clear that someone needs to help the afflicted and take care of the creatures.

Making his way through the ever-humid Jungle of Judgement with his companion, he hacks a few lianas out of the way with his sword before pausing to wipe some sweat off his brow.]

What do those monsters look like again? I'd rather avoid having them creep up on us!

8) Not My Wonderwall

[As soon as he learns about the treacherous oasis in the Deserter's Desert, Hijikata can tell that it's going to become a problem if no one takes care of it in time. He may not have a precise game plan, but when has he ever let that stop him before? At least they already have information about the monster behind the illusion! An octopus, he's sure, is more killable than some other things out there.

Once he and his companion see the oasis appear, he cracks his knuckles.]

Alright, how do we do this? I could burn the entire thing, for a start - if nothing else, that should make the octopus reveal itself!

9) Golden Repairs

[Once again, Hijikata is embarking on this quest as an escort to ensure nothing happens to his questmate while they engage in this minor gold rush. Having teleported into the Flooded Woods, they need to traverse the labyrinth of treetops to get to their destination - unless his companion has an alternative idea.]

I've actually never been in this corner of the Autumn Segment. I only got as far as the graveyard... or, well, a little beyond, to deal with the ghoul kelpies. I bet some of them are still around.

[What a reassuring thing to say when the waters below are so murky! At least, they're high up enough to not easily be snatched by any lurking aquatic monsters.]

10) I Came In Like a Landslide

[Mud swallowing people up... grim!! For this to have happened so close to the city is especially concerning. Hijikata investigates the situation with a companion - and before long, they find themselves faced with an enormous mud wave towering over them, emanating that familiar dark aura.]

[ He thought he was picking up a relatively easy task: go pan for gold at the lake. He should have known better though, nothing is ever that simple around here. However, apprentice crows aren't the worst thing that could possibly happen to him and his very young chespin. While there are a large number of the apprentices, they are easily driven off.

You just have to dodge the elemental spells first. So the game becomes dodging projectiles while trying to fire back their own. Daigo flings clumps of wet lake dirt at the crows with his autumn magic. Chespin starts out with vinewhip.

It's a great day for accuracy practice, but they also probably wouldn't sniff at some help. ]

[ Daigo has a strong sense of duty, and when there are disasters he wants to help. His Autumn magic is not the most developed, but he goes because he thinks he can do just enough to help keep from suffocating in the mud. He is soaked in the rain and already struggling with the power drain on his magic when the Darkness comes crawling closer.

Daigo does not waste any time waffling about how to respond, he takes the gun out of his pocket that is loaded with Riki's magic bullets and fires. The loud noise of the gun may draw help and monsters alike. ]

💴 THE ACE OF SPADES

[ Daigo catches wind of someone looking to hand out beatdowns. He really does try to just ignore it, but he just can't. So he goes in to hear about some of these targets. He's built like a fighter, it's not that difficult to convince some rough in a bar that he's interested. He is, however, more interested in seeing if he can circumvent even one of these supposed beat downs.

And when he gets a target that he recognizes from previously managing some of Nightwake's troubled youth, he sighs and says he'll take care of it.

Which means finding said troubled youth first.

It's not actually that difficult, he knows where troubled youths like to hang out in a city. The problem is that the kid does actually think he's come to collect on that ass whooping and takes off running... ]

After that week or so he'd spent in the chilly zone waiting for Shadow to birth out of a flower or... whatever the fuck that had been, the winter segment is kind of the last place Sonic really wants to be. Still, a thousand moonbucks is nothing to sneeze at, and he doesn't really have a real job, so he sucks it up, grabs a coat, and heads out to freeze his butt off.

Perched on top of a snow covered boulder outside of a cave, he's cupped a hand behind one of his ears to listen for some weird singing.

"I'm pretty sure I hear singing from in there. Sooo... what, are we supposed to challenge it to a rap battle or something?"

He hadn't actually meant to get involved with this quest. Hell, he'd only really skimmed past it. While out on a run, Sonic had just happened to be in the area when he came across a couple plant monster thingies chasing down some rando (OR maybe giving someone actually on the quest a hard time). Naturally, Sonic instinctively reacts by charging into one of them with HIS ENTIRE BODY, sending it flying as he lands back on the ground.

"Oooh, wait, I can do fire--" He's cut off mid thought by a second plant monster snagging him by the arm. He doesn't look concerned, just mildly annoyed at the most, but uuuuuuh this is actually not great!

To his credit, Sonic actually remembered that he can USE MAGIC to fight monsters this time! He doesn't want to risk slinging himself into a mud monster and getting stuck, so for then most part he focuses on crowd control by using his speed to keep a few of them in one place. He's running around a grouping of like five of them in a tight circle, pelting them with little fireballs.

Even if he is actually using his magic properly for once, he's still relying on his natural abilities maybe a little too much. Some other mud monster manages to get a glob of itself under his feet, throwing his footing off and slowing him down just enough to get a hold on one of his legs and trip him. He falls face first into the mud and is immediately tackled by one of the monsters he'd been pelting with fire.

"Yo, littlehelpoverhere--!!" He manages to kind of call for help before being completely engulfed. Shh that's not panic in his voice, it's definitely just adrenaline. Shut up.

Hakkai just sounds tired, watching the cacti. He turns slightly, then whips back around, just in time to catch them wiggle. A shake of his head. "That's... I suppose I should be thankful it isn't something worse, hm?"

That said, he starts to turn away again, only to dart in the direction of the cactus. A bolt of energy is in hand, as soon as he moves. As he finishes the turn, he whips it at the creatures. They manage to dodge most of it, but it clips one, severing its... arm? The rest shriek, launching needles towards the man.

The landslide just stops. It churns and grinds and presses in on the narrow passage in which people are working, trying to free a couple of trapped travelers. Mud monsters loom, smashing their faces into an invisible barrier.

Hakkai has his hands outstretched, palms cupped. His face a flat mask of concentration. The longer he stands there, the more he begins to look strained. Holding the mud and monsters back by what looks like pure concentration alone.

"Please - hurry and free the victims. I - cannot hold this forever."

Even scars. Which would have sounded absurd, if he hadn't spent time in a world where his blood glowed in the moonlight. His own ugly mark didn't deserve any such decor, but maybe someone else... Someone who might bear looking at their reflection a little easier, with just a touch of gold.

So for entirely selfish reasons, to himself alone, Hakkai is near the Lake. He's weaponless, something that, at first glance, appears foolish. Stupid. Especially as the birds - crows? - begin to descend. Hakkai merely glances back at them, before throwing his hands in their direction. They're thrown back by a blast of light end force. He just smiles at whomever happens to be near.

"Well. I suppose an interruption was inevitable, hm?"

Before the needles can connect, a half-sphere of water churns out of thin air, solidifying in a shield-like shape of ice in front of him.

"Yes," Levi says dryly behind him, hands still raised, because it could absolutely be worse. He's seen worse, both here and back home, and while these foes aren't exactly pleasant, he thinks the guilds are overpaying this mission a little.

Or maybe he just happens to have the exact skillset that makes it easier.

He moves his hands fluidly, draws them up and turns them to face himself -- and a layer of ice spreads over him as if pulled by his fingers, quickly growing thicker into an armor suit. Once he's covered up, he launches forward to try and occupy the remaining cacti while his companion recovers.

He's... seen the man around, though they haven't exchanged words. But they're supposed to work together, and Levi intends to keep unnecessary harm from them both if he can help it.

After all, several cacti are poisonous, so she can't help but be mildly curious if a monster cactus is, too. Even though she can't fight, she is rather well prepared with her backpack filled to the brim with potions with varying degrees of actual helpfulness.

[With a sack tied at his waist, Kaeya was all set for seashell hunting. It was his favorite past time, in fact. He had his hair braided to keep out of his face, with an accessory or two to keep his longer bangs at bay as well.

Currently, he was kneeling down in the water, pants rolled up, and softly chatting with a mermaid who had come up to offer some advise. He held a seashell in his hand, it was more scallop but in a colorful blue hue.]

This can tell when rain approaches? Oh my, that seems quite useful. What about thunderstorms?

The purple ones do that.

I will look out for those, then. You have been very helpful, madam.

[He bid her farewell and placed the blue seashell in his bag, stepping onto the shore properly to renew his seashell hunting. While many would be turned in, a seashell that can predict thunderstorms would be useful too. With these places and their random weather patterns at times, Kaeya would definitely like a head's up on storms in particular.]

[There was a startled yelp, followed by a crash as the cacti with projectile needles suddenly bodied the ice wall that Kaeya created a split second before the thing tried to give him death by hug. It was a plant, so couldn't he burn the thing? Well, yes but the problem was getting close enough.

Kaeya snapped his fingers was quickly boxed it in, but now how to get to it to pull a needle out? Maybe he could send a fireball inside?

He was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of cracking ice and he cursed. Was it seriously breaking through?]

Tch...

[His Vision shield was only temporary and could only absorb so much damage, he quickly through off the outer later of his shirt and left himself only in a top that left his shoulders and lower back bare. The reason why was clear soon enough as wings burst forth and his skin greyed as the stoneskin set in. A tail burst from his trousers and his hands and feet became animal-like with claws. It was a good thing he had begun to remember to pack an extra pair of shoes just in case, ever since that time at the mansion. Now, he would be better protected from the monster but that wasn't going to help him actually get the creature to stop launching those needles, especially with much squishier people were still around.

A sword made a ice crackled into existence in his right hand while a sword made a flame erupted in his other hand. Well, he was just going to have to try.]

[Kaeya was incredibly fond of children. It was no different here than back in Mondstadt, where it hadn't really been unusual to find him entertaining the kids when he could or telling them scary stories or even babysitting for a little bit. His ever growing friendship with Albedo introduced him to another child, who also happened to be an Outworlder (something that didn't sit well with him at all, but there wasn't anything he could do about it), named Mary.

And, one day, she mentioned wanting to paint in the Segments but was told she couldn't because it was dangerous. Which it is, make no mistake about that. But, Kaeya was fairly knowledgeable about the Segments and which areas were more dangerous than the others. So, Kaeya volunteered to be her bodyguard and quietly planned a safe route through the Segments for her to paint and have far fewer chances on encountering anything untoward (and if so, that's what he was for). Kaeya also promised Albedo to text him every hour to ensure they were alive and well.]

Walk Walk Fuss Me Baby

Of course Asami would participate in a fashion show related quest. This is something she really enjoys and thrives in; fashion, showing off. While she usually makes sure to look good, it's not often she gets to go over the top.

The show starts with her walking on the catwalk, wrapped in a black cape, covering her whole dress. She's also wearing a red and pink mask, as she does. Once she's walked a little in silence, she makes a dramatic move with the help of her wind magic and makes her cape fly away, revealing the dress she's wearing, along with some fitting accessories. Her shiny black hair flows in the small breeze she still keeps up.

Once it's time for her to turn, she looks at someone close to the catwalk with a smile, winking behind her mask before walking back again. She definitely makes sure to move her curves to have as much attention as possible.

This is something that goes on in the back as well, as she's not yet changing her clothes or taking off her mask.

"Did you see me out there? Did you enjoy it?"

[Jinwoo's up early that morning, before the sun even. It's barely been a few days since he arrived, but he's starting to get acclimated to this place and formed a routine thanks to a surprising number of helpful individuals. Now that he's started to make connections and gather information it's time for what comes next: Earning cash. It's always in the back of his mind, the possibility that someone he cares about will end up here someday. Jinah, his mother, Jinho, or one of the others. He'd trust them to be perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, Jinah has had to learn some self reliance since he was usually busy working, and their mother- it went without saying since their father's disappearance, but he feels its his responsibility. What's more, he wants to do his part to take care of them in their father's absence, and for that he needs coin.

Despite all the money he'd managed to make as a hunter back home (and given them access to) his family never relocated from their little apartment. Instead he did what he could to clean up the neighborhood more, make the area safe for them to stay where they were comfortable. For his mother there was a lot of sentimental value in those walls, but he had no such attachments here and had no plans on forming them in the starter space he'd been given.

His thoughts turned to the path ahead and his plan for the day. The streets were quieter in the early hours, but far from silent. Nightwake really is the city that never sleeps, he thinks to himself. That's not the case once he finally reaches his destination via teleport crystal, though: The Deserter's Desert.

There don't seem to be a lot of people out this way at this time of morning, and that's just what he'd been hoping for. So far people have had a range of reactions to his shadows and he's only called them out one or two at a time, but it's been stifling having to fight like that. He'd much rather be able to fight freely like he's accustomed to back home, and so he'd come here alone tonight. If you happen to show up for some sand octopi hunting too then you're in for an unusual sight.

a.) WTF Am I Looking At?

The sun is just a few moments away from peeking up over the horizon, casting the first rays prime for the octopi's illusions. Standing at the ready is a group of four large, dark, hulking figures made of shadow flickering like flame. They must seem unnatural at this hour, black as pitch, wisps and tendrils of darkness trailing off of them like smoke or tiny flames. The largest of the four would make for the most bizarre sight for most. It has no legs and instead seems to be balanced on a snake like tail. It has the upper torso of a buff humanoid, but the fin shapes with the purple glowing "membrane" and the reptilian features mark it as distinctly inhuman. It holds a large, wicked looking trident made of the same living shadow.

Next to it is a figure that would be familiar to those who saw Jinwoo's network post, a man-shaped shadow in elaborate armor, and next to them an equally large bear, also made of shadows. It seems to have a flaming purple mohawk, eyes, and scars. Another one is recognizable as a dullahan sitting astride its skeletal steed, but both look like they belong to this little makeshift squad. Rather than the horse's skeleton being made of bone it seems to be made of living shadow, with a heathery glow making up its eyes and nostrils, not to mention its mane and between its ribs.

Funnily enough the strangest sight of all of them might be the young man standing ahead of them like a commander or general, only he's not dressed the part at all in black jeans and t-shirt (he rarely wears bright colors these days).

He's tall by human standards but short next to the shadows. He's holding a longsword of black haft and white steel, sparks of lightning dancing all along the blade. He holds the sword casually over his shoulder, scanning the desert with softly glowing heather eyes, and if you look too closely at his shadow you'll see about a dozen pair of different eyes glowing in the dark of it. Honestly no one can be blamed if they find it creepy.

... That being said, you can approach him at any time while he's waiting for... whatever it is he's waiting for. Feel free to ask about any of it! Swap tips, share strategies, or supplies, or just pester him. It's whatever you want to do.

b.) Join the Fray!

There are a lot more shadows in the area now and all of them are concentrating their efforts on attacking an enormous sand octopi from all sides. A team of three winged, bipedal shadow ants (each one standing two heads taller than Jinwoo) seem to be focusing on its legs, using their pincers and claws. At least one tentacle has already fallen and they're apparently working on a second, but they flail about making the progress slow.

Amidst this chaos you found your way into the fray, or maybe you were already fighting nearby and either made your way to Jinwoo's location intentionally or found yourself there by coincidence. Either way, you're here now, and even though he hasn't spoken to you he's taken notice of your presence. The shadows give you a wide enough berth that you can still fight freely. If it looks like you're about to take a hit one of them might even jump in to block the blow for you.

Elsewhere Iron can be seen hacking away with his flaming axe, every once in a while shouting to provoke the beast and keep its attention focused on him. Elsewhere still is a team of bears, led by the largest one with a scar in the shape of an X glowing over one of its eyes, and a flaming purple mohawk. The smaller bears are using their jaws and claws to try to pin down other tentacles while Tank, the big one, attacks the torso. Every so often the monster will get its tentacles around one of the shadows, squeezing it until it disperses violently, only for it to regenerate and rise again, going right back to what it was doing.

A pair of smaller octopi doesn't seem to be faring much better nearby, being beset by smaller shadow bears and orcs (which are distinctly red, rather than purple). While the little ones are preoccupied Jinwoo has gone after the big guy as well. Hollow and Midnight, the dullahan and its steed, are right there next to Jima who's shoulder Jinwoo is riding. Hollow has been given that longsword while Jinwoo wields a pair of red and black blades, and Jima has its trident.

Jinwoo leaps then out above the monster. One sword disappears from his hand with a dissolving flash of light and a tear seems to open where his hand reaches out in its place. A small torrent of water pours from that inventory space, dousing the beast, and the shadows make room.]

"Hollow!"

[There's a taste of ozone in the air as the dullahan raises its sword at the command, and then a hail of lightning strikes at the sand octopus. It shrieks in anger and pain, but wherever the lightning has struck wet sand seems to have crystalized. Jinwoo yells out to you at that moment.]

"Now! Strike where it's crystalized!"

[He'll be taking his own advice as well, landing atop the creature and bringing down both blades (when did the other one get back into his hands??) right on top of its head, earning another pained shriek. What will you do?]

[ To say Jinwoo's battle abilities had left an impression would have been an understatement. Witnessing the calm directing was like watching a high-ranking Harbinger at work, and the efficiency they worked at was one that Lyney envied. ]

[ That didn't mean the magician was about to slack off himself. He was here for the job as well, and getting field experience in this new world was just as important as the reward was. After introducing himself as an archer, he'd kept his distance from the frontline, firing off arrows in support and watching the movements of both ally and enemy alike to keep track of progress. ]

[ At the call from Jinwoo, he immediately shifts the aim of his bow, narrowing in on the motioned area and firing off an arrow charged with his pyro vision. Though the arrow itself doesn't do much damage as one might expect, the sudden appearance of a pair of inflatable cats in hats where the arrow landed might be a little bit out of expectations. ]

They explode!

[ Hopefully Jinwoo can hear his called-out warning amongst the sounds of battle. ]

Usually, Anthem would not be so easily pulled in by games of chance. Her 'luck' was subpar at best, all things considered, but the moon coins along with whatever other prizes she received were worth the time and coin she would spend, probably. So whatever.

That, and she only needed one more prize to win the jackpot. Unfortunately, it seemed to be the hardest to obtain. Anthem was used to the sensation that came with the lack of spell slots, and just sort of ignored the lethargy that came from the lack of touch energy until she nearly toppled over, palm pressed to the machine.

"Ugh..." whoops.

He isn't sure if it's the horns that draw him in (and the way they remind him of a friend he made here in Ellipsa) or the haggard look on the stranger's face, but he's glad he chose to get closer when she sways so badly she nearly topples over.

"Woah, careful there. Wouldn't want to faceplant into the controls," he says in a playful tone, reaching out to help steady her with a hand on her arm, hopefully also imparting some energy back into her in the process.

[Giulia loves a good competition! She's out watching others do the carry because she doesn't really know anyone yet. But if someone needs a partner, she's down to make some new friends.

[Now here's a quest Giulia can excel at! Collecting seashells is just a staple of her summer days in Portorosso! She a bucket sitting up outside the tide's reach and she's moved out into the waves a little. Her method is to let the tide come in and then make a grab for whatever it washes in before the tide goes back out. And then filling her pockets. When they're full she brings them to her bucket. She can sort through them later when her bucket is full.]

[Russell was in the area himself to do the quest when he stumbled upon the unfolding scene with Giulia. He doesn’t know this person but he can’t just leave her stuck up a tree, either. He picks up a long branch from the ground and shakes it at the bears threateningly(?)]
