WHO: Rinku, basically anyone
WHAT: Seasons Anniversary Party!
WHEN: Weekend of March 8-10
WHERE: That one park in Blossomcrown everyone uses to throw their parties in
WARNINGS: None so far, warn in individual threads if something comes up!
[Being kidnapped to another world for over a year isn't something you celebrate in general. But Rinku's always been one to try and see the positives, and so just like the first arrivals had a party back then, she pitched a party on the network and decided to throw it.
Partygoers (and that's basically everyone, whether you saw the post, she found you and told you to come, or you just wandered over here) are encouraged but not required to dress up representing their world and bring food from their world. Rinku, in her iconic performance costume, spends most of the party buzzing around and gushing over everyone.
Of course, she's dragged her brand new DJ booth with her face on it to the park, and is playing some brand new songs as well as mixing and adding her vocals to established music, including stuff from here and random anime songs. A field's been made into a temporary dance floor for the occasion.
But there's more -- Rinku's set up food tables as well, and has put out a large pot of romazava and another full of rice, plus a cake-sized donut on the other end for people to take a slice of. Everyone else has been encouraged to bring a dish from their home world to share! There are also games set up like ring toss, pin the tail on the human(???), and social games like truth or dare and never have I ever. She won't mind you starting up something she didn't think of, either.
Happy isekaiversary, one and all.]

[As Abnormalities go, it's pretty boring, but it's also easily the least harmful one there is.]

[Does she even go on dangerous quests, or does Purple, for that matter? Either way, a healer is always good to have in the party, and a confession is a small price!]

[He can't help but look her up and down a little at that last part... he knows that she handles those unkillable monsters back home, but it doesn't change the fact that she doesn't look tough!]
Can I ask about your defences? Or your techniques in general - against the local monsters, I mean?
[She's so unfazed!!]

My E.G.O. suits from home, made from the power extracted from Abnormalities, are highly resistant against physical and mental damage. Besides that, I always have no less than two weapons on me - one that does physical damage and one that does mental, so I can switch between whatever's most effective against a given monster. Besides that, I recommend being fast and not getting hit.

Yeah, you can't go wrong with that last part. Have you had many encounters with monsters here that were weak to mental damage?
[He imagines that the more intelligent a creature is, the more susceptible it would be (a slime, meanwhile, probably wouldn't be affected), but what does he know?]

[Tough skin, armor-like scales, the usual things you'd think of.]
At my job you'd have to deal with monsters targeting your mind as much as your body, but here almost nothing does. It's convenient for choosing what protective gear to wear, for sure.
no subject
[Guess who has no protection against mental damage whatsoever? He's only got one shield against physical damage, too - his Aura - and no contingency for it. It's a wonder he's not only still alive but reasonably high up on the non-existent monster kill count scale!]
You wouldn't by any chance be able to mass-produce your suit, or even something smaller, would you? I don't think Riki's got any mental damage protection items in his shop.
no subject
[But she technically could do it!]
no subject
[Is he going to regret that? It's more likely than he thinks!]
no subject
[She at least will stop before she causes permanent problems.]
no subject
I appreciate the offer. I'll be in contact with you about it.
[He'll need to work up the dedication first!]

Rinku's such a good kid, isn't she? What are you teaching her?
[He's seen her in action already, but he's curious! In their fight against the accidentally summoned demon, she mostly used her ribbon stick since its light magic was most effective, so he hasn't seen her other combat skills yet.]

[Rinku isn't his kid, but he can't help but feel proud of her! She's a sword wielder like him now! Evangeline is honestly pulling a lot of weight in the otherworlder community, even if it comes easy to her. He can hardly think of anyone who's doling out such versatile skills with such generosity (granted, he's also biased towards the benefactors of her efforts, so he can't help but be extra grateful).]
Look, I know you've got a good handle on everything, but if you ever need help with a quest or whatnot, don't hesitate to call me. It's the least I can do for what you've done for Medusa.
no subject
[What does she do with all this gratitude. Feels weird.]
no subject
Right.
[His eyes wander around until he spots a convenient reason to excuse himself.]
I think that's Jean over there - I've got to catch him, so excuse me, alright? You take care!
[Is Jean even at this party? Well, if he isn't, another tall guy with a similar haircut is about to have an awkward exchange with Hijikata.]
wrapup!
[That's one way to escape from awkwardness?? Not the most subtle of exits, but it works.]
