The MK Intimidation Squad
WHO: Red Son, Wukong, Macaque
WHAT: Payback
WHEN: After the masquerade
WHERE: A location not too far from the underground mall
WARNINGS: Violence, demon intimidation tactics, spicy talk
The Hearts Gang was lucky in many ways. The luck was in that the fact the person they messed with was MK, who was overall a very good boy who preferred it if no one had to get seriously hurt for problem solving.
The bad luck was the fact the person they messed with was MK and he had three extremely protective immortals who are willing to go as far as they think they can without truly upsetting him and there was enough wiggle room in that for an extremely bad time to be had.
Red Son probably could have had the information sooner, but working on Saya's hibernation project took priority. Helping loved ones was more important than revenge. But he had kept out the feelers, slipped in some sabotage, kept up the work enough to get the information he wanted. It still took a bit of time after, but he had it.
He had the full list of names of every Heart Gang member who was working the day MK arrived on Ellipsa. And he found a day where in that full list of names should be present again. There were a few others, but frankly, he didn't much care for collateral damage. They were part of the same gang, they would have done the same thing, so they deserved it well enough. All that mattered is that all of those who COULD have been involved WERE present.
So a few days before hand, he sends a message to Wukong and Macaque.
They should all be present finally to be taught their overdue lesson. Along with the day, time, and where to meet.
Red Son wasn't far from the facility, waiting for the other two to arrive not long after sunset. Wearing a new hairpin with red gems and has a small cooler nearby because hey, he's never one to be remiss about achieving more than one goal at a time.

"It was not, but I was busy with a project to help someone Noodle Boy and I care about and it was time sensitive. He would disapprove of prioritizing revenge over aid. As would I," Red Son said. He doesn't know what all Macaque knew about Saya's condition, but he hadn't been inclined to freely share it when she was suffering it, and it would be a whole thing to get into now.
He picks up the cooler, looking over at Macaque. Raising an eyebrow at the lack of scarf, but...
Well, he'd let Macaque reveal what he will about that in his own time to Wukong. Far be it for him to rob him of controlling that fun.
"I do want to raid samples of their work while we're in there. It'll narrow down my research for fixing the Noodle Boy's problem. So destruction of their equipment needs to wait until I have what I need," he said. A pause. He huffs. "Otherwise."
He looks to Wukong. "Wukong gets to decide when enough is enough and that we're done." He looks to Macaque. "He is a better judge of what would be too far for MK."
no subject
He does change back and jump down to the ground, resisting the urge to quip about Red Son actually listening to his judgement about MK now. Not the time, and he's not really in the mood.
"No injuries they can't recover from, no death. Even if it's true that death's not permanent here, MK's not going to forgive us if anyone dies."
no subject
Oh? I can see it. He probably wouldn't like that it's happening at all. [ But some things just need to happen. ] But we can't have them poisoning innocent people, now can we?
I'll take a look on ahead. [ Some of the long shadows on the ground ripple and shift, then slide off toward the facility. ]
Hm. Have to get creative. [ He looks to Red Son. ] You can heal, right? There's potential to have this both ways.
no subject
"Let's be fair, Noodle Boy would forgive us if we did more." Because MK has certainly forgiven a lot that he really should not have of both of them. "Wukong is the judge for what just results in a kind of disappointed MK over an actually upset one. With the amount of death threats I've heard from the Dragon Girl when she's feeling protective of him, there is some wiggle room for such things."
Red Son was silent for several beats. "I mean, I would need to extend a great effort to reattach a limb, but I have finished the advanced healing lessons and joy fuels Spring magic," Red Son said, looking at Wukong.
...Red Son knows what he's about and frankly he would not be past breaking his centuries long human free diet to make a point tonight if he was on his own.
no subject
He's really not down to split hairs over that, or the fact a threat and actually doing aren't the same thing. He leans on the wall, waiting for Macaque to finish scouting and looking at a random poster in a window.
He's not likely to rat them out if they go overboard or get creative, but he's not going to be joining in. MK's faith in him means more to him than his immortality. More than his life if he was mortal. That's what he's about.
no subject
[ Macaque steps closer to Red Son and leans against the wall beside him. ] I don't think we need to remove anything all the way. How much can you take before getting exhausted? Is it comparable to your regular stamina?
[ Look, he's just asking Magic Questions. ]
Hmm~ seems we're getting started early. Hang on, I'm snagging a sentry to bring back.
no subject
He noticed the tone, and even with his own problems with Wukong right now, there are Priorities and that's taking care of the Hearts Gang. Any spite or arguments are for after.
"It is not. The magic here drains a lot faster, even with the equivalent emotions and touch energy in play, and if that magic hits empty, you do feel it. Its like losing an engine on something with two. Its not impossible to keep going, but it does severely hinder. At least that's been my experience. I haven't fully tested the advanced healing. I know healing a bunch of broken ribs doesn't drain it, but it is a noticeable hit." he said.
He recently got to find out that fun fact. "No emotions and minimal touch energy, but still. Better to try and have any broken bones be clean so they can recover on their own."
He raises an eyebrow at that. "Are they on the move?"
no subject
"At least you could heal yourself from that."
He raises an eyebrow at Macaque, waiting for him to answer Red Son.
no subject
[ Please, he has on good authority that MK and Red Son have an agreement. Besides, he's just making conversation! ]
Nah. You know these type, they posted some slightly bigger than usual guy outside with a baseball bat like that's going to do anything.
[ He reaches inside the wall and pulls out a very scared looking man with cutoff sleeves and tattoos, typical small-time hood stuff. Macaque yanks him out by the throat and deposits him on the ground, where his boot becomes intimately acquainted with Mr. Small Time Lookout's chest. ]
Look what the monkey dragged in. Anyone have questions for Contestant Number One?
no subject
....he...
He still didn't notice the implication. Macaque is getting a front row seat for part of WHY he didn't realize MK's feelings sooner. Wukong may be to if he didn't realize how far these things can go over his head, especially when he's not in the headspace for it.
Red Son huffed, giving Wukong a flat look. "I accepted my consequences," he said, looking over as the shadow forms on the wall.
He hums. "I mean, if they're at all competent, they don't tell the guards anything beyond what they need to know. Guards are good for security. If we were actually concerned about security." He said and paused. "One thing I can see as a concern is if they thought to have any anti-home power measures set up."
no subject
Nope, skipping over. All. Of. That. Both Macaque trying a little to hard to imply, and Red Son being dumb. Honestly it actually makes it worse since it took a month and heartbreak for him and MK, and maybe two weeks max for him and Macaque.
"But yeah, the best thing we can ask is about blocking our powers." He looks at the guard. "Any risk of that?" He summons his staff from his ear.
The guard quickly shakes his head, eyes growing huge. The three of them are definitely above his pay grade.
no subject
Everything else looked pretty mundane. Basic security system, if high-tech, nothing we need to worry about.
[ He stoops down to give the guard a wide, toothy grin. ]
You know where they keep the stuff they've been using to poison otherworlders? The monster pills.
[ The guard, seeing some chance to make it out of this with his hide intact, nods enthusiastically. He's sweating bullets. ]
Then we'll take some directions. If your information checks out, you get to keep all your pieces. Deal?
[ The guard starts rattling things off. Seems the Monster Medical Operation is underground, sublevel 5. ]
Anything else before I turn him over to my friends for safekeeping while we take a look around?

MK was emotionally charged from the start. MK wasn't one worth losing to carnal pursuits. There was simply no great risk when it came to Macaque.
Now hopefully he doesn't go the route of Saya, but considering how hung up he is on Wukong, it seemed unlikely.
"Even if we can, it changes the approach, so best to know," Red Son said with a shrug. Especially when elemental powers were not necessarily the best in confined spaces when you didn't want to severely injure or kill people, but still make a Point.
Red Son nodded, picking up the cooler and pulling out an electronic device. "Do we wish to go in loud, or get to sublevel five first? Because this is already geared to hack into their automated locks," he said, heading for the facility.
no subject
Wukong wasn't actually thinking season powers. Any one of them had the training to hold their own without using powers. Three of them would be fine.
He fell in step behind Red Son, purposely not letting his eyes linger on Macaque.
no subject
said the complete hypocrite who only bothered because he was told Wukong was coupling up with Saya. ]Hang onto this, will you? [ He's talking to some of his shadow clones, to which he hands the guard along with a grin that is a clear threat. ]
You realize I could put us in that room without even using the stairs. [ His portals are useful like that. He doesn't need to see where he's going so long as there's any shadows in the vicinity to peek through. ] But fighting our way in does have a certain appeal.
[ He trots up to walk vaguely beside Wukong. Don't ignore him when he's trying to be a smug asshole, it's rude. ]
no subject
That isn't even on purpose. Red Son is focused on the task at hand and there is hardly any reason to filter out the information he knows.
"Though if we're going for more psychological terror," he started because hey, if they had to hold back on the physical pain, they could still enjoy just fucking with their heads. It'd probably go farther in convincing them to stop anyway. "It'd still be better to be in before we're in the room with them. Then I can hijack their locks and make sure they can't leave until our say so."
no subject
Oh, well that more than confirmed exactly what Macaque was doing. After being THE WORST about Saya for supposedly hurting MK too. He was flaunting being with Red Son like it was just Tuesday and being smug about it?! What is his deal?!
Whatever. They can finish the mission and then he's gone so the two of them can get back to be whatever they're being with each other. It's none of his business, and he's not planning to give Macaque the satisfaction. The irritated waving of his tail might though.
no subject
Always so punchy, Wukong. One day you're going to regret not being more careful. [ Today in "things he's REALLY gonna regret saying in an hour." ]
Still, it works for me. We'll be moving in the same plane so a lot less likely to be disorienting. [ Shifting position, such as when one goes from vertical to horizontal, or horizontal to very differently so, tend to be a lot harder to keep up with when you're not used to it. ]
no subject
It just also has the side effect of him not necessarily thinking of things OUTSIDE the task at hand other than what is pertinent information.
"That's good. Its dizzying trying to catch up to the new position and I'm almost done with the set up," he said, eyes still on the device. "Get us in the stairwell and there'll be a keypad I can access. Once its done, we go in and the doors will all lock automatically after ten seconds." He's had a lot of time to gather information. "Then we'll just need to break the elevator, but that can happen during the loud easily enough. We'll break down the doors when we're done."
Then he grins to himself. "It'll take them longer to figure out there's a virus changing their passwords every three days if they don't have to try and break out." Just long enough for them to not NECESSARILY catch on its a virus from their efforts, and make it harder for them to fix the problem.
no subject
"And the longer they're figuring out what's going on there, the less they can do anymore harm too."
He really shouldn't be this bothered, but he can redirect that frustration in a moment.
no subject
[ Anyway. ]
[ He moves closer to Red Son and opens a portal. ] C'mon then, let's go have some fun. And also fix up MK and prevent further problems. [ He has his priorities straight. ]
[ He shoots Wukong a grin. ] We'll try to leave you something.
no subject
Nothing like getting to use his less than noble skills to do something that MK might actually approve of.
Even if the motives were selfish.
Sometimes love was compromise.
He doesn't show any sign of moving away when Macaque gets close, not even glancing up from the machine. Certainly not an oddity from how reactive he can usually be.
"Let's go," he said moves through the portal, immediately moving to the keypad by the door and popping it open to connect the device. It really takes no time at all after the set up to unlock the door and get the virus into their system. Really, the risks of bluetoothing one's security system.
no subject
Child's play really and it gave him some space away from Macaque a bit to refocus. He hated how much the other monkey was getting under his skin here. He wanted to go back to just not being bothered by anything. But he couldn't.
no subject
Now. [ Macaque is pacing around in front of the clone-grappled scientists, who look to be scared enough to abandon the gang and start new lives in a monastery ] What have we all learned about poisoning a nice kid who happens to be friends with powerful immortals? Or poisoning anyone indiscriminately, for that matter.
no subject
Sure, he can admit to himself that maybe, maybe he's not naturally villainous as he has talked himself up to being. He certainly had no desire for the destruction of the universe. He didn't really have the impulse to destroy a city without guidance from someone of import to him.
But it was absolutely delightful to terrorize people, scaring them, uncaring if they got injured or burned (as long as it wasn't too much.)
It was especially fun to see the scramble for the elevator, only to send in the delightful mix of fire and compressed air that did lovely work of sealing the doors together. The treatment was given to their security systems and weapons, automated turrets and handheld devices systematically turns to melted scrap.
The mad cackling also made for a lovely contrast compared to the more subtle horror of the shadows. Nothing like the loud and showy making the subtle even more horrifying.
He was humming quite happily as he moved along their supplies, which had remained relatively untouched, collecting samples and whatever appeared to have notes on it, from notepads to a few tablets. He could hack into those later.
There was some protest from a scientist on how they agreed to pay off their debts-
"Coercion isn't consent and your machines are rigged! I have the stats~" Red Son called out in a sing song voice. "Which I shall be submitting as an anonymous tip to the authorities later tonight."
