[ The bar is called the Lazy Owl Hideout, a very comfortable and quiet Autumn-themed establishment in one of Nightwake's small neighborhoods. Nightwake's modernity remains more comfortable to Daigo than out in the segments, so he has taken his apartment here while learning to navigate the rest of the area at a slower pace. Daigo looks much like his picture, although well-dressed in person. He has the look of a businessman, although to someone with a discerning eye is clearly yakuza: slicked back hair and a gold chain around his neck. Most people in Nightwake do not have that discernment, which is an interesting experience. He has always been the yakuza son, he has never gone anywhere that did not whisper about him.

His smile at Eren's arrival is friendly. More obvious in person, he has a reassuring and warm charisma. ]

[ Eren doesn't go to bars much because he doesn't do normal social things, whoops. He hasn't been much of a person for so long that the slide back to trying to pretend to be normal has been strange and slow. But it's not a big deal. He wants to be here. It's hard to know what someone's like over text, after all.

Eren's main picture on the Sinder app isn't really contrived, so he looks pretty much the same. He has a sort of blank distance to him, a holdover from not being able to always live in the present. Still, he's here now. He doesn't smile, like he doesn't remember how, but he appreciates Daigo's charisma. He has no frame of reference for yakuza; Daigo doesn't look like other people he's spent time with so far, but there are so many worlds he has no idea about.

He's aware he probably makes the worst first impression but whatever! He showed up on time, that's how it is for now. ]

[ He slides into his seat. He's been a soldier since he was a kid, which probably shows in his posture and movements. ]

[ He is watching Eren without being obvious about it. He calmly accepts what is presented to him, even as he takes note of this or of that. In his line of business, Daigo encounters many troubled individuals. ]

Have you been out in Nightwake much?

[ He can guess the answer, but it's always preferable to let someone express themselves rather than assume. ]

[ Eren shakes his head. ]

Not really. I go to restaurants sometimes. There's so much food here, you know? But I don’t...go out, I guess.

[ He's sure that isn't a surprise. ]

We didn't have anything like this where I came from. Most of my life I've been fighting a war.

[ Just casual Eren things, like it's normal to be 20 and have fought a war forever. ]

Have you gone out a lot here?

[ He offers a small smile, encouraging. Food is great and Eren should definitely enjoy having plenty around. He is aware that another adult would balk about the age of these young soldiers, but he has also learned that balking does not build trust. ]

Most nights. In Japan, my clan runs a busy red-light district. So downtown Nightwake is much more familiar to me than the segments.

[ He folds his hands loosely on the table top. ]

But the city can be... disorienting, if you're not used to it, hm?

[ At least Eren knows what a red-light district is from being here in Ellipsa. But he tilts his head questioningly anyway. ]

I've heard of Japan. That's...a country?

[ He says "country" like he's unsure of the word. He only learned about nations and countries a couple years ago and doesn't entirely get what they are. ]

Nothing here is all that familiar to me, really. But a lot of people I knew at home are here and that matters more than location.

[ Home for Eren is just people in the end. ]

I was in another world before this one, but it didn't have the big city like here. I'd never really imagined anything like Nightwake, but I'm more used to it than I was. It's been about six months since I got here.
