RAFAL 🐉 MAGIC PRACTICE

[ He manages to navigate his way to Amberfall, which was a pretty solid accomplishment in and of itself. Good thing he has some practice being dumped into strange towns and needing to find his way around in a hurry. He's gone on the run enough times to get the idea. It's a more pleasant experience when the local area expects confused outsiders, and can actually be prevailed upon for help. Unlike the average Japanese citizen who doesn't want anything to do with his yakuza bullshit.

In general, it's a fascinating change of pace that no one really cares that he's gokudo. It's been a mark on him his entire life and now it's just... nothing. It's an odd, melancholy realization.

But it helps him out as he's asking about how to sign up with the guild. Not an eyelash batted.

He's all ready by the time Rafal shows up. The magic business is definitely going to be the biggest challenge of the day, and Daigo takes a deep breath for it. Humility is how you learn. ]

[ rafal shrugs. his oath meant helping others so he sought to fulfil it. he's never taught magic before to someone who didn't know but the principle should be the same. ]

Of course. It was no difficulty.

[ It's the kind of thing Daigo would say, it's bemusing for him to be on the other side of it. When was the last time he was even really allowed to express ignorance on a topic? He couldn't do that too openly in front of his men, unless it involved introducing a new accountant or hacker. ]

I'm not sure what the prime of youth would look like anyway. You all seem the same to me.

[ he considers his next words. ]

Have you felt different? Felt anything shift?

[ He really wants to ask what traits Rafal notices in other dragons, but he stores it away for another time. ]

There are odd sensations... [ They're just hard to describe, he gestures with his hands. ] Like when two magnets have started to pull, but aren't quite touching.

[ He has no idea what to attribute that to and wondered if there was just some gravity fuckery. ]

That would be your seismic sense. That is an inborn ability given to you by your season. You'll be able to sense people through vibrations on the ground.

[ He holds out his hand without reluctance, but is still mulling over what a seismic sense is. ]

Some magic work with spells and tomes. They come with study and research.

But some magic is innate, like the kind given to us here. I want you to close your eyes and picture the ground shifting beneath you. Your hand will act as a conduit for your power.

What is supposed to happen?

[ But he closes his eyes and does his best. He's not the most imaginative man, his focus has always been in the physical reality. ]

[ He makes an uncertain face, not sure what kind of "response" the earth at large could have. But he's trying. In the end, he focuses on that magnetized sensation and lets his mind wander with visualizations of what that would look like as energy. He still isn't sure it's working at first, because all he really senses his a rhythmic thud thud thud until he realizes that they're the echo of footsteps. Not as a sound but as a pulse in his body. ]

[ he nods. ]

A good start. It seems your senses connected with your power.

NEL 🐉 TEMPLE RUN

[wild_romance]

[ Much like the Dragon of Dojima himself, Daigo finds it difficult to keep his nose out of a situation. When the word was put out for people to bring supplies to escape the temples, he clearly had to do his part.

Which then turned his attention to the temple itself. He's not terribly qualified for Legends of the Hidden Temple, but he has escaped a trap filled room before in his life. And he's very good with a gun. So after a moment spent with his mouth quirked in uncertainty, he determined that he would regret not trying.

He manages for a while in the first level, before stepping on a trap at low health and being teleported back to the entrance while he is still groaning. It's better than dying, but the damage is not the most pleasant.

But pain and adrenaline make his focus tighten. He's invested now and shakes it off before striding back through to the entrance to the first area.

He finishes the first area, and levels up the laser gun, and makes it half-way into the second before a new enemy type takes him out and he's teleported back to base again.

He goes to sit down for a minute before he tries again. His bangs are damp on his forehead with sweat, gaze intent. He glances around the entranceway, looking curiously at who else has come to try this out...

Oh, hadn't Rafal introduced that one as his sister? Daigo raises a hand in hello. ]

I guess... nobody is sneaking up on me again.

[ He has been shot and stabbed more than once. ]

Is that a common problem?

Yes, unfortunately.

[ He confides with a self-effacing chuckle. ]

[ That should be enough info for a fantasy person, right? ]

Do you expect that to happen here? In another world?

Not in the same way... but, uh, everything around here seems a lot more powerful than me. I should be on my toes.

That would be sensible, especially with all the monsters.

[ A chuckle of laughter. ]
