BEACH PARTY

The sun is shining, a cool, crisp ocean breeze flutters across the shores of Solarpeak Beach. There's not a single cloud in the sky, the perfect day to have a party! Whether you heard about it through Yoimiya's network post, word of mouth or just happen to stumble onto the festivities, everyone is invited to Ellipsa's scorching hot Beach Bonfire Party! Grab your swimsuits, sun dresses, or whatever you feel the most comfortable in, and join in on the fun.

Gonna Soak Up the Sun

Through the combined efforts of Sisu, Yoimiya, and the many kind volunteers who lent their assistance in setting up the venue, the beach party is here and open to the public! Upon arrival, everyone will be given a choice of colorful, handmade hibiscus leis or bracelets to adorn for the party. They aren't mandatory in the slightest, just a cute little thank-you gift to those who are attending. After receiving a warm welcome from the hosts, you're free to set off and have fun! Meet up with friends or introduce yourself to new people from distant worlds, the party is your oyster. Of course, there will be plenty of other activities to partake in as well. Venture forth to the fun!

Feeling brave and daring? Sitting on top of the ocean is an inflatable balance beam built especially for water jousting. Foam joust poles and life jackets (if you wish to wear one!) will be given to would-be challengers looking to scratch the itch for a fight. The goal is to assert your dominance by knocking adversaries into the water and be the last person standing. Show off your strength and become the champion of the beach!

Perhaps you might be in the mood for a bit of fun in the sand. A large area of the beach is sectioned off for the grand Sandcastle Competition. Solarpeak residents from all across the city are bustling with excitement, flocking in to watch the artists do their magic, so go wild with your creations and give them a good show! Buildings, any kind of sculpture, or even just a basic castle are all accepted, let your imagination run free. You can even drag a buddy in for a helping hand if your work of art requires assistance. For the winner, the grand prize is a summer gift basket filled with goodies for a nice relaxing spa day at home. Tucked away inside the basket are gift cards to various restaurants in Ellipsa. Don't fret if you aren't interested in participating! Anyone is welcome to walk around and marvel at the competitor's creations.

A Feast for All

The hosts are bound and determined to ensure that no one leaves this beach hungry. If you're craving a cold tasty treat to stave off the heat, a bustling shaved ice stall is here to cool down roasting attendees. An endless variety of flavors are available for mixing and matching, waiting to quench your thirst. If you are feeling adventurous, there are a few questionable flavors on the menu such as Bacon, Durian, Jalapeño, Ketchup, Mushroom, Pickle juice and Seaweed. Try them at your risk or if your palette is "hungry" for something more on the "unique" side.

For those who made inquiries about alcohol, special arrangements have been made! A small pop-up bar has been set up for today's joyous occasion. The bar's pride and joy is a variety of summer-themed cocktails but you can also find other basic liquor or non-alcoholic drinks if your tastebuds are craving simplicity. To go alongside the refreshing beverages, food is also provided at this small establishment. Some of the dishes on the menu are: kebabs with a hint of rum, peach bruschetta, spring rolls, fish and chips, crab hush puppies, and a spicy jalapeño popper dip (you can also ask for the ghost pepper version of this dip if you are feeling brave). All the hosts ask is that visitors to the bar be mindful of the people who can't or aren't interested in drinking.

Decorated across the shores of the beach are tables, picnic blankets, and sizzling hot grills for the designated picnic area. In a similar fashion to the potluck that took place a while back, several tables have been set up for those who like to go crazy in the kitchen or wish to advertise their food business by bringing samples to share.

Time flies when so much fun is taking place! As the last light of day begins to fade, the stars come out to brighten up the night sky on this clear summer day. However, just because there's no more sunlight, doesn't mean the party is over. Far from it! There's still lots of excitement to be had for the attendees who wish to stick around for the night festivities.

A Midsummer Night's Glow

On the middle of the beach, a blazing bonfire burns ever so brightly inside a log fire pit. Eat snacks, catch up with friends, meet new people, or get cozy with others should one be feeling touch starved. In need of an icebreaker? A game of truth or dare or telling scary stories makes for a good way to pass the time. Maybe you'll have a fateful encounter and land yourself a date before the night is over.

With a sky full of beautiful stars, a bustling bonfire, and a large open space, the atmosphere is perfect for dancing. The DJ for the evening is the bright and energetic Aimoto Rinku, here to bust out an array of sick beats with her turntable. There's plenty of fun to be had in a group conga line or grab a partner for a slow, romantic bolero, and dance to whatever music piques your interest. A small makeshift stage is also set up for those who wish to sing, Rinku will be more than happy to work with any potential performers. From upbeat EDM to ballads, all types of genres fill the air with music. Let loose, enjoy the melody, and dance the night away!

Festive Mementos

For one of the hosts, summer just isn't the same without fireworks exploding across the sky. To end the evening with a bang, a beautiful barrage of fireworks paints the night sky in various colors and patterns. As a final gift to the attendees, Yoimiya has prepared sparklers for everyone to play with. There are a variety of colors to choose from, pink, red, blue, green, orange, purple, yellow, etc. No matter what color catches your fancy, with a little flick of the wand, all of them appear like twinkling stars sparkling and flickering across the stick.

To end off the light show, fireworks representing each of the seasons burst into the sky. Blue snowflakes for Winter, pink cherry blossoms for spring, a yellow sun for Summer, and red maple leaves for Autumn. After the vibrant display, a final golden ray of light flickers and explodes into a bright, heartwarming message for all of the guests. "Thank you for attending! You are all amazing! Let's have a great time in Ellipsa!"

You'll need to try harder than that. Did you check the abilities of other seasons than your own of winter?

Quite the confidence you're exuding there. I've got my own knowledge of the powers from other seasons, but it wouldn't do to reveal everything I know to you, now would it?

[His pugil stick gets readied, grinning from ear to ear now that he believes he's leveled the playing field here a little bit. If he can't knock Ayato over, he'll just push him if he has to! Even if he goes in with him too.]

Get ready, 'cause here I come.

[And he does, charging in as he uses the ice to his advantage, gaining speed quickly across the shorter platform. His plan, not to strike Ayato, but rather he's just going to try to body the Commissioner into the water, not caring if he follows him right in. (He's absolutely going in too he can't get out of this scot-free)]

{ what he expects to come isn't quite the same as what childe actually does. he expects him to try and go for his feet to make him jump or move in a way that would forsake his ability and instead he just gets winded as childe slams into him.

he drops his own pugil stick, gripping onto the other instead as they both go off the platform into the water. }

[Even if Tartaglia grew up in the ice and snow, that doesn't mean he has the ability to stop himself as he slides across the ice with Ayato grabbing a hold of him as they both go right off the edge of the platform into the water with a splash.

The rushing sound of water hits his ears as they both go in, a level of satisfaction washing over him that he found a way to win (lbr *win* is doing a lot of heavy lifting here,) swimming upwards to emerge from under the water. In that, he can't help but start laughing at how ridiculous it all was, treading water as his companion joins him above the surface, to be met with a bright smile from the Harbinger.]

Hahaha! Goodness, I wasn't sure if that would work! Oh, you should have seen the look on your face just now-!

{ honestly since they both fell off this was more likely a draw, but ayato is distracted trying to grab his sunglasses as they start to float away in the sea to think about that right now. he only settles when they're back on his head again, hair sticking to his face a bit as he looks back at childe. }

Considering you winded me with that move, I can't say I'm surprised. I take it you worked out what I was using then?

[He grins back at Ayato, clearly proud of himself. It's like he always says, face him man to man he'll try to find a way to win- and he feels like he's lived up to his own words.]

I believe I have. You stayed true to your word and never used your vision- those are your seasonal powers you were abusing instead. Quite handy, if I do say so myself. It'll be interesting to see how useful it is in a real fight.

{ he smiles back, but he's definitely reaching for the platform to hold himself up a bit. }

Perhaps someday soon we can try it in a proper fight again.

[He laughs as he starts to try to pull himself up onto the platform again. But you know what he (and myself sobs) didn't think of when he iced the platform? How are they supposed to get back up? There's no handhold...

So his hand slips as he tries to get a hold of the top of it, his face scrunching with frustration and the realization that he just might of made it impossible to get back up for the moment.]

Ah...I don't think I completely thought this through.

Hopefully no one else wishes to have a round anytime soon. I take it you aren't able to turn the ice back into water yet?

[He throws a hand up behind his head, clearly having been called out correctly by Ayato.]

Hey, I'm still working on it- all things come with practice, you know.

[Definitely has not worked out that little bit yet.]

I guess I'll have to figure out a different way to get us up there. Hold still for a moment, and make good use of that incredible balance you've managed to develop, now.

[They're in water, and there's no rule that he can't use his vision outside of their rounds, right? The Harbinger focuses for a moment, letting the water beneath them bubble and concentrate beneath their feet. Ayato should be able to feel it, spouts that slowly lift them up out of the water (it's only a foot or two anyway so it's not far) so they can step up back onto the platform without slipping off of it. He looks proud of himself, at least.]

There! That should work for the time being. Now, we can continue our battle.

{ he stays quiet as childe uses his vision to lift them back onto the platform, not saying anything about how he could have potentially made pillars from the sea floor as well. at least this way he isn't wasting magical energy. }

Listen, to me, just winning or losing the battle isn't the only thing that matters here. As long as you learn and grow into a better warrior than you were before the last encounter, then that's all that matters.

For me, there is no end to fighting and conflict...and I delight in having to find new ways to win. So what do you say? Ready to go again, or are you throwing in the towel?

Unfortunately, I don't have the same level of stamina you do. I'm afraid I would start to bore you after I'm worn down so much. Perhaps once more, then we can go for a drink instead?

[He raises his little plastic, inflatable weapon, now determined more than ever to win.]

[He wastes no time now, coming in quickly, his only aim now to disarm his opponent, because there's clearly only one way to do this.

{ but childe has already ran at him before, and one way to avoid getting pushed off is making yourself as small as possible. he ducks down, crouching as childe tries to sumo wrestle him off the platform. his core lowered now it's easier to keep his balance, especially when his ass plonks down on the platform and he twists to slam the inflatable into childe's ankles. }

[Childe's hands end up on Ayato's shoulders now that he's crouched down, taking advantage of the ice on the platform, but finding that his own feet are still slipping from underneath it just as much as he's able to find some traction to push. He's got to use his opponent just to keep his own balance, making sure not to let go of him as the inflatable hits his ankles, but that only results in one thing.

His feet fly out from underneath him, and he tips over Ayato's back with a cry, wrapping his arms around the other man now just to keep himself on the platform. Poor Ayato now has a partially upside down Childe with his ginger locks touching the ice more than he'd like clinging to him with all his strength, and he refuses to let go, though he's in a pretty sticky situation at the moment...]

CRYING

{ this is not what he'd anticipated when he'd crouched to avoid childe trying to fling him off the platform by crashing into him again.

and he can't help but laugh faintly as his arm moves up, wrapping around the back of childe's legs to hold him in place so he can be an awful friend. hopefully no one is watching childe embarrass himself, or how much of a bully ayato is about to be. he doesn't use his vision as promised, but he does hold his other hand out to the water, creating earth in his hand that mixes with the water to become mud or sludge-like in its texture.

childe's clothing choice has been a big help, as ayato's hand moves up to under his jacket and smears it there to try and make it so he'll let go. if he does, he's getting flung back over him to try and get him in the water again. }

HAHAHAHA THESE BOYS

[Oh, this is a bad position and he knows it. He probably would of had an easier time keeping his own balance if he hadn't froze the platform, but as it stands it's still layered with a thick sheet of ice on it, and now he's slipped and gotten himself in a bit of trouble.

Which is why he's latched onto Ayato like it's life or death- he can't lose because of this. What he's expecting, however, doesn't come. Instead, all he feels is this layer of muck getting spread across his back instead, and the warmth of Ayato's hand makes it even worse.]

Hey-! What in the world are you doing????

[He cries out, trying to wiggle himself out of Ayato's grasp, to no avail.]

IDIOTS....

{ a low chuckle follows that, and while ayato may use speed over strength when it comes to fighting, he's in the better position to use strength here. his hand dips again, conjuring more earth that he dips his hand into the sea to wet again. }

What does it seem like? I'm keeping to the rules, am I not?

{ is this keeping to the rules, though, when his hand not only moves back under his jacket but also pushes the back of his waistband away from skin to drop that gloopy bit of mud down his shorts too. }

Don't you think you're taking this a little- ahhhh!

[Amidst his protesting, Ayato conjures more mud and continues to slather it on him, except this time! This time he's putting it right down his shorts! It feels awful, how the muck slowly slides down his backside over his butt and down his leg, some of the wetter, more loose parts of it dribbling down to his foot.

The Harbinger grimaces, even though it's not the grossest thing in the world, that's still! Down his shorts!]

Aw, c'mon! Down my swim trunks, of all places?

{ a laugh follows the yell, actually earnest as he lets go finally, in the hope childe will slither away now. }

Considering you were ready to wind me again, desperate measures had to be taken. Besides, I'm very aware to not let down my guard around you.

[Luckily, Ayato's let him go, and he lets himself carefully roll off of his shoulder to the side, his body hitting the ice. A part of him just wants to roll off into the water to wash all this mud off of him, feeling it squish against his body under his weight. Groaning, he picks himself up, before sighing heavily at this tactic that Ayato has deployed on him.]

I'll admit, that's the first time anyone's ever beat me that way...

[Sitting on the edge of the platform, Childe pushes himself off of the ice into the water, hitting it with a small splash as he tries to clean himself up. Lesson learned, that's for sure. He can see the mud dirtying the water around him, but at least it's coming off.]

Fine, fine, you earned your drinks. I'll concede this time...

Since you had taken the chance to use your seasonal powers, it gave me the idea. If you hadn't made the platform into an ice block, I may never have thought of it.
