[ When you actually show up to the park near Flynn's one-bedroom apartment, you'll know where the party is right away: chains of wildflowers string trees together around the clearing, and there's a big buffet table covered with lots of (clearly labeled for different dietary needs) food. The recipes definitely lean Japanese, and most of it's handmade, but there's also a selection of storebought snacks still in their wrappers for some reason. ]

[Regis lets out a slight sigh as he glances at the gift he brought for Flynn. It must be a painting or a portrait of some sort judging from the size and packaging. While it's not something super fancy or luxurious, Regis hopes the young man will like it. After all, he's quite aware that Flynn likes dogs.]

I couldn't figure out what to bring nevertheless wear.

[His love for black is showing yet again but he is wearing a handsome dark purple waistcoat under his black suit jacket. He wanted to add a hint of color here and there. While Lucian royalty is known for their affinity for black, Regis sometimes worried that he looks terribly drab.]

[ Gifts aren't really much of a thing where Hlasoh is from, not in quite the same way it is for people from other worlds. Only rich elites give each other gifts, for the most part, things of rarity and symbolic value. Most people don't even really use money to get things, so what would be the point in giving something freely available?

Hell, even birthdays aren't that much of a big deal.

But she understands that this is not the same for many people here, so she shows up at the park depositing a pair of light parcels (they contain plush, extremely comfortable bathrobes).

[Cor's smile turns a bit mirthful as he glances around the crowd. Very youthful, but very lively as well. Nowhere near as stuffy and sedate as all the citadel balls and events that they had to endure over the years. Not that Cor didn't have some kind of fun during those times - the dancing and the top-quality drinks were always the best part, in his mind.]

That only means that we can enjoy an actual party, for once.

[Incidentally, Cor's gift is clearly from one of those department stores, based on the pattern from the wrapping. But it's one of those stores meant for outdoors activities instead of the regular designer stuff...]

[A humored chuckle escapes Regis once Cor mentions those god-awful balls they had to attend at the Citadel. Honestly, he would rather be here than at one of those grand political functions. As the King of Lucis, it was expected of him to attend such gatherings even against his better judgment. He grown used to hiding his discontent while suffering through such gatherings. Thankfully, he doesn’t have to worry about that anymore. At least for now, especially since he just began his new career as the Foreign Affairs Officer. Regis just hopes that the galas here won’t be as stuffy and boring as they were back home.]

Now before you run off to find the liquor, need I remind you that you’re no longer twenty-something anymore.

[He teases knowing full well that Cor will put his liver to the test if he sees the copious amounts of alcohol available here. While he doesn’t plan on drinking anything other than a glass of wine, he’s quite aware of his age. That’s why he’ll probably do one glass and that’s it.]
