General Training
(Dayrise Colosseum)

[Occasionally during June, Jean can be found from the Dayrise colosseum. Mostly he's training general hand to hand combat skills (including testing a few different martial arts he's read on) or his fire magic. Unlike his previous anger filled training, he's rather calm this time and taking his time to take breaks in between training.

He also has his sword with him to practice swings with that whenever he hits a figurative wall in his normal training.]


Staring at horizons

[Jean is definitely not going to go the Segments on his own, but he does occasionally wander to the beginning of the Sunwaning bridge to look at the Segments from there. The Autumn and Summer Segments are both beautiful and it feels peaceful to just watch them from afar.

It's also a good place for him to just be on his own and think about things by himself. About death and about what he needs to do now. But he makes no move towards the Segments the whole time he's there and instead turning to go back to the city.]

Ah, I see. I can understand that. I don't have much free time at home either. Occasionally I would practise calligraphy, though that was done in a way people assumed I was working. I used it at times to take a break without having people interrupt me.

A secret hobby right in front of everyone's noses. Kind of sad, but also kind of amusing as a thought.

I can't disagree with that, but I take opportunities where I find them.

At least here you have a little more time for it, right?

That is true. I have a lot more free time here than at home. While I took a government position, it has no where nearly as many responsibilities.

That's good, isn't it? Or do you miss being as busy as you are back home?

I... miss it a little, if I'm honest. But I have a feeling a lot of that is merely many years of habit.

It was the same for me when I arrived to Empatheias. I missed the army-like routine back at home. I guess it's normal.

Probably. Though I'm not sure I'd like for it to go back completely to how it was at home either.

I can't blame you for that. I wouldn't want that either... for either of us.

Understandably. Though perhaps we should venture away from such topics.

It's always good to be ready for anything. Though since you've fallen for it once, I doubt you'll fall for it again.

{ he will be a kind friend and offer him a tissue though, so wipe off the tiny bit of paint there before he settles into actually brushing paint onto canvas. it's a relatively chill conversation after that, both of them just enjoying each other's company as they try to broaden their horizons again. }
