[ When you head to the location of Yuri's GPS ping from yesterday's network post, you'll find a rented-out little karaoke bar with MAID FOR YOU written on a handmade banner that is temporarily covering the bar's normal name, decorated in pink and black on the inside, with a lot of cute little two-chair tables taking up most of the floor space. There are rooms in the back that would normally be for singing karaoke in private, and singing with a maid is indeed one of the things you can do with those rooms today!

The real draw, though, is all of the very cute folks dressed as maids and/or butlers today, who will — for a small fee — wait on you personally. ♥

Take a menu, select a maid, and place your orders... or just ask Yuri what all the commotion's about, he'll be happy to explain! ]


((ooc: Maid cafe fundraiser! Don't worry too much about the coins your character is spending here, nothing is too expensive (though the black menu items are at a premium), we're all just here for the CR.

PLEASE NOTE: Yuri does feel personally responsible for the safety and comfort of all the Official Maids who are trying to help him raise funds here, so he will be actively trying to curb anyone bullying their friends into signing up, and he really doesn't want anyone working for him to be wearing or doing anything that makes them uncomfortable. Adult characters who only want to wear pink ribbons? Characters who want a full coverage maid outfit, or who want to be butlers instead? Excellent exercising of your boundaries, Yuri loves that for you.

You can, however, definitely pay for the "dress up as maid or butler" menu item and use that to bully your friends to your hearts' content. 😉))

[ the majority of them aren't so bad given the fact that sabo should be comfortable enough to do them with effective strangers to him. ...and they were. it's just the matter of what kind of relationship that the two of them have (or don't have). sabo's aware of it. ace is aware of it. sabo is aware that ace is aware of it.

it's in part why he'll casually and easily pick a number from the air that seemed reasonable enough to get away with what is comfortable but profitable. ...while also being mindful that they kind of do share funds in a sense. ]

Let's go with three. I'll make sure that it won't be anything that you wouldn't be able to afford.

[ most of them are innocent, yeah. but the fact of the awareness being there makes it a lot more complicated.

but three, hm? he looks over the list to debate what might be the best choices. how innocent or otherwise he dares go. ]

Cards wouldn't be too fun without some kind of bet behind it...

[ they are mostly innocent but when ace presents the idea of bets, the competitive side of sabo immediately wants to go for something ridiculous and over the top. something that would be great blackmail material.

...except that's the opposite of what he's supposed to be delivering as a "service" here. unless that was the thing being requested. something that sabo addresses with the same composure as he had from the start. ]

And what kind of bet are you thinking of?

[ oh.

the idea of betting was something he casually threw out there, but he didn't really think ahead of that. but hmmm. there was always that. ]

Winner gets to ask the loser to do anything they want?

[ under different circumstances this would go a lot more typically but this isn't those circumstances. ]

As tempting as that is, we have some rules surrounding that sort of thing that might take the fun of it from you.

[ he'll casually tap the part of the menu where the rules are. "maids reserve the right to refuse any service to any customer for any reason". sorry ace. ]

But then it wouldn't be part of the service and it'd be unfair to anyone else who tried the same thing.

[ this isn't like ordering something to go, ace?? you have to eat your food here. ...or whatever ends up being the condition of which the bet is made. ]

[ oh no. you did this to yourself; sabo isn't giving you any outs. ]

If you have not forgotten, Ace? My job here is to serve you; it hardly makes sense for me to decide anything from a bet.

[ he'll adjust his posture and give ace the best disarming smile that he can manage given their history together. ]

[ sabo will just sigh and shake his head. he can already see how they would go in circles about this and while that wouldn't be a problem normally... he is here to make money. ]

Come on, if you can't think of anything then there are other things on the menu that you can pick from.

and he's about to retort back to what sabo said, but he redirects the conversation. ]

Then how about we start with the maid outfit and I'll figure out my order.

[ and maybe he'll think up a bet by then. ]

[ well. at least they're getting somewhere and while sabo isn't for dressing up as a maid, he isn't against it either. so he'll just sigh and shake his head. ]

You really want to see me dressed up as a maid? [ the tone he uses is more teasing than anything else. ] I never would have thought that this would be an interest of your's but fine. I'll be right back.

[ cue sabo exiting for the time being as he goes to find a maid outfit to wear. ...which will be a modest one and not something revealing. sorry ace. this is the kind of person that sabo is and he shouldn't have expected anything less from him. but that would be in the future as in the present sabo is still mildly regretting the prospect of cross-dressing. ]

[ he waits until sabo returns to actually say anything in response to it. also, it's not surprising to see that his outfit isn't anything scandalous. ]

It's not that I'm into it. It's just the idea of seeing you in something like that is great.

[ and given the fact that maid day was just the other day in japan—here is some fan art of the kind of maid outfit that he changed into. though, unlike the fan art, sabo won't look as unimpressed. he will have his arms folded across his chest instead. ]

[ he shakes his head in disagreement, it's totally not the same thing. one sounds more like a fetish and this is something else.

ace leans back in his chair to take the whole look in properly, eyeing his friend up. ]

It's not the same thing, but you do look pretty good in this.

[ sabo would and could say something about the way that ace leans back and gets an eyeful of him like this, but he won't. instead he'll just ham it for ace a bit by posing for him. ...yes, he will go through each pose linked, but he won't spend much time on any of them. ]

[ now cue him walking over to ace's side proper and having his hands folded in front of him as a "proper" maid. bright, pleasant smile equipped as he is going to find a way to have his own fun with this now. ]

However, as a customer, I'm glad that my outfits pleases you.

[ if their relationship wasn't in such a precarious spot, he would potentially make some different comments, but he'll leave some of those alone. not that he's bothered about harassing sabo a little bit, but some thinsg don't need to be said.

he does give a bit of a whistle at the little poses, though. just a little catcalling won't hurt. ]

[ the catcalling has him chuckling to himself. things would be certainly different if things were less "complicated", but sabo's good about running with whatever he is given. especially when it involves people that he knows and trusts and in a situation where he doesn't have a lot to worry about. ]

It's just some clothes. [ casually said as he gives himself a look over. though—to the heart of the matter. or, well, the hopeful reason for why ace is here?? ] Have you put any more thought into what you want?

[ that's fair, but ace doesn't want to push certain things, especially since he's still getting used to the idea that this is sabo, but not "that" sabo with him. but he's not the type to overthink these things too much, either. ]

[ sorry, sabo. anything else he was going to say and any further orders are cut short as he falls asleep. problem is, he is falling backward to the ground from how he was leaning back. hm.

[ yeah? not wanting to push things? say some of that to his face but also maybe not because who knows what would happen there. either way, is this really what's going to happen here? really?? after everything.

this might as well happen and while sabo could have let ace just drop to the ground (and probably should have), he doesn't. instead he'll make sure to catch ace before he falls to the ground and supports him.

sabo is here to make money!!! for his guild!!!! not play babysitter!!!! also how can this be lap pillow when he was standing next to ace to begin with? he's just going to sit arrange ace into the chair properly and hold onto him to make sure he doesn't fall over. so...cuddling? except not so much. ]

[ listen. sometimes a guy just passes out without warning and those things just happen.

[ it does happen and sabo's used to it for better or for worse. ...even if it had been many years since he has had to deal with it somewhat actively. it's not unpleasant; just different. extremely different.

and while ace is asleep, he'll have adjusted both of them so that they weren't so awkwardly seated...or awkward in general. instead of sabo awkwardly holding ace upright as he stood next to him, he has moved the other chair over so that they were sitting side-by-side. ace's head resting against his shoulder as sabo quietly waits for ace to wake up tapping on the device that they were all given. what else was he supposed to in this situation?

but when ace starts to come to, sabo will only briefly glance over to ace before going to look back at the device's screen. ]

[ well, since sabo isn't making a move to actually move from their position or shove him off, he's going to lean his head a little to try to peer at what sabo is doing on his device.

in the meantime, he also shifts just a bit so he's leaning a bit more comfortably and resting his head properly on sabo's shoulder. for the moment, he's going to keep his comments to himself. ]

[ why would he ever do throw ace off of him when he was the one who positioned him like that in the first place? either way, if he bothers to care about what ace sees when he peers over to look at what he was doing, then it isn't obvious.

all ace would be able to see is sabo messaging people on the network. nothing incriminating. nothing that would bother him. in anything, sabo will also adjust himself so that ace could be more comfortable resting against his shoulder. a domestic or quiet moment, if you will, between them despite the location.
