What had started with Mami stress-baking far too much cake and offering to give some away, had lead to a number of other offers to bring food, and soon she had ended up in charge of a substantial potluck mingle. Well, she supposed it would make for a nice welcome party for everyone else who had been dragged into this strange new world with her!

And so, a number of small tables and picnic blankets had been set out with cakes, cookies, hot dogs, burgers and other sweet and savoury treats that her and others had been brought along. Mami had even taken the time to decorate the table with little flowers that she'd gathered as well, just to add to the atmosphere that the cherry blossom trees already provided.

Hopefully it would be a relaxing, pleasant afternoon.

Thanks. I don't eat meals like this all that often, usually just pomegranates or gyros. I forget you mortals do this every day, huh? Or night.

[ Mortals, huh? While it doesn't necessarily bother Thoma being addressed as such, it does make him a bit curious. ]

Sometimes three times a day, if we're lucky enough to not be too busy.

I assume there's some sort of occasion or something. Feasts like this can't be an everyday thing.

I'm new to the area, so I couldn't say for sure but... where I'm from, feasts are more of a special occasion sort of thing.

Right, same here. That means there must be some sort of celebration happening, right? Wonder what for.

I'd like to think of this one as a welcome for everyone.

Oh! For us, you mean? That's awfully nice. So long as they're going to keep us here against our will, might as well make it a pleasant stay.

Well it's much better than being treated like criminal prisons, placed in a jail cell, and potentially starved and or tortured.

No, not at all! It's still delicious, even with the seeds and the stem bits. I'll just have to remember that for next time.

Is there anything you really liked? I could use some more recommendations.

I've liked all the meat and fish I've had so far. Much better than what I'm used to. And the fruits! They're so... fruity.

[ It's so great seeing someone excited for food that isn't some kind of weird food. ]

Oh, I must have missed the fresh fruit. I'll have to pick up some next time.
