What had started with Mami stress-baking far too much cake and offering to give some away, had lead to a number of other offers to bring food, and soon she had ended up in charge of a substantial potluck mingle. Well, she supposed it would make for a nice welcome party for everyone else who had been dragged into this strange new world with her!

And so, a number of small tables and picnic blankets had been set out with cakes, cookies, hot dogs, burgers and other sweet and savoury treats that her and others had been brought along. Mami had even taken the time to decorate the table with little flowers that she'd gathered as well, just to add to the atmosphere that the cherry blossom trees already provided.

Hopefully it would be a relaxing, pleasant afternoon.

I do! I'm an archaeologist and a historian...at least some of the time.

( It isn't her most important duty, even if Zelda wishes it could be, but she doesn't think leading with her role as the representation of the Goddess Hylia is very relatable or necessary in a place like this. She isn't unafraid to talk about it or about the Triforce of Wisdom, no, but that's what everyone expects of her. She wants to be what her dreams are about. )

I recently found out a way to cook frogs that was actually palatable and could keep you warm in cold temperatures. Of course, it wasn't what I would call delicious but sometimes sacrifices must be made.

I'm new to the area, so I couldn't say for sure but... where I'm from, feasts are more of a special occasion sort of thing.

Really? That sounds like an exciting life, even part-time.

[ He only really knows what others have told him, but working with a cultural activity-focused commission does mean he's got a bit of knowledge on artifacts of historical relevance. Even if it's mostly regulated to 'take this over there'. ]

If it's that useful, I can see why flavor was sacrificed. Does it require any other ingredients?

Hehe, thank you! It's so great to see you as well. When I first arrived, I thought to myself: Man, I'm sure gonna miss Thoma's delicious cooking.

[ And of course, she would have missed Thoma himself!! Hearing the words in person, come out of his mouth causes her to stop eating to stare at him. She already knew about his arrival in this place thanks to "Taroumaru" but when did he become aware of her? Did Taroumaru tell him? Does Thoma know Taroumaru can communicate with smartphones too?! Hmmm... SQUINTS EYES. ]

[Mami had taken a little break from the crowd with a teacup in hand- and well, it wasn't so much the guy with far too much food she noticed first as the adorable doggo chilling under the table!

It's mayonnaise, and just the right amount! I'd say you should try it, but I'm not sure yet how good the local brand is.

Hm... it's okay. Not as good as the kind from home, but okay.

[He's playing it cool, but he's really so happy to see Venti!! The little bard always made every room he entered on Avalon feel warmer and brighter with his smiles and laughs and his music. Ellipsa, too, immediately feels even more inviting with him in it. But saying any such things would be weird, of course, so he just... eats. Silently. While still looking at Venti.]

It's not so bad, having a place where the cherry blossoms are always in bloom. It was winter where I was taken from, so I didn't expect to see them so soon.

[Sure, his fellow Shinsengumi men aren't here, but the company still isn't bad at all! He knows a few people already (even if that's one-sided in some cases), and there don't seem to be any really nefarious subjects around (unless they're lying low).]
