The Wonder☆Blooming Stage is set for a DJ competition. Rinku had solicited entries and advertised on the network, and then put up posters around town. (As for their quality... graphic design is her passion.) Everyone's got a slot to perform for 20 to 30 minutes while the crowd can listen and party with one another. The DJs themselves can join in with the party too while others' sets are on.

After the whole competition is done, there's an afterparty with local food brought in like maple deer and roasted vegetables... and tons of donuts too! It wouldn't be Rinku if she didn't want to party with everyone.

Because apparently even though I distinctly remember redoing my reply after editing the previous TL, it's vanished into the ether --

Rinku appears in a brand-new variant of her usual DJ outfit, with a motif of gold rings and a star charm. Her set has songs she's played a lot and less common ones, both original works and cover songs, with bright lights, magic sparklers, and Rinku providing live vocals.

She also breaks out a brand new song, full of affectionate praise for someone really amazing the singer wants to be like, who's full of love and was afraid to show it until a bunch of kind and strong and smart people helped her out. Sorry, Evangeline, you did literally ask for this.

...And yes, the curry rice song is back (sorry, no Mecchan).

[Frieda is biased, yes, but even though everyone else brings great and diverse music to the table, Rinku's actually is the most happy and energising to her personally, so she gets her vote!]

CHIPP

For once in his goddamn life, Chipp's actually dressed up for this whole event... courtesy of Evangeline, of course. No one should expect this man to dress himself properly on his own.

As for his set, how about a playlist? It's in order and everything, because I'm some shade of overinvested.

No live vocals on Chipp's end, though he does have assistance from a ball robot he's recently finished (ref in the art linked up top) - the little guy's relegated to a pair of MIDI pads the entire time, because Chipp sometimes needs his hands free for Spin Jockey. Because Chipp can't just be normal about things and has to play the big soul banjo that sounds like a floppy drive.

For effects? Lightning, obviously! Though he made sure to set up precautions - there's plenty of big ol' copper rods around him and his kit to attract it all and keep it away from the audience.

Deki's set is a little mellow; he's got a pretty voice, and he does live vocals for all of the songs with words. Mostly covers, and then his solo. The visuals on the screen behind his set up are a little trippy and bright.

Honestly, he's grinning behind his mask during the whole set; despite the chill atmosphere, he has a nice stage presence and seems to love what he's doing deeply.

DJ Porty

The stage is set up for the next act and Porty is sure he is not going to disappoint. He does want to win but the real goal is to have fun and put on an amazing porty. With an ungraded outfit and accessories, Porty emerges from the smoke with his four other MK backup dancers. Like hell he wasn't going to rope in the OG and some clones to dance on stage with him.

They're all technically the same person. So it so isn't cheating. They're eye candy anyway. He's the only one playing the music. Speaking of, Porty loads up the CD with his set. He is pushing the time limit but he comes in just under the thirty minutes given.

Smoke rolls across the stage and off the edge as lasers shine, refracting behind to flash and change with the beat of each song. The real show is his four backup dancers, each dressed the same with tight pants, fishnet shirts, and decked out in glow stick necklaces, bracelets, wearing matching shudder shades, and each with a massive glow stick staff for pole dancing during the set.

The performance ends with the final song as Porty leaps out from behind the DJ booth and dances with the four backup dancers. Ending with a saucy kiss with the one he grabs to his stage right. Then the stage goes dark.

THERMAL SHOCK!

Bakugo Katsuki and Todoroki Shoto are in a two man band/unit together named THERMAL SHOCK! and Katsuki is the DJ of the two of them! Shoto plays the lead guitar and Katsuki uses his DJ booth to play pre-recorded tracks to back up Shoto! The tracks he plays includes: drums (played by Katsuki), extra guitar parts like chords or harmonies or ad-libs (all played by Shoto), synths, backup vocals (sung by Katsuki), and other noises and things that he sees fit. Katsuki is also the frontman and sings/writes their lyrics (his voice sounds like this but this example is in japanese so imagine his english voice a mix of the two vocalists in the songs i link later ok)

They have some pyrotechnics which includes handmade fireworks which are essentially just time bombs time'd to go off at certain parts in the show. Katsuki's a genius when it comes to explosions and made these himself (well.. mostly... probably with a little help from chipp).

They're both also wearing stereotypical punk outfits (black clothes with skulls and fire designs and tears in their jeans and just very Hot Topic of them. Something like this.).

For their set, the boys are playing four original songs (the ones im linking exist irl so just imagine thermal shock!'s versions being just a little different but same vibe). One like this, one like this, and two more songs around 5 minutes each in styles similar to the ones linked. One of the four songs is instrumental only and has more focus on the synths and other DJ-sounding instruments but is still very much rock and edge. This whole set is: Edgy Boys With Lots Of Emotions, the show... the first two songs are supposed to be love songs (not that katsuki would admit it) but they're both so dramatic and firey it'd be easy to miss it!

[Hijikata really tried to be impartial, but as a man with a heavy metal soul (source: Gintama's idol producer Tsunpo who definitely isn't a terrorist at night), he simply can't not vote for his boys!! Now he has one more reason to be proud of them... those are some real bangers!]

[1) Backstage]

After her own set, Rinku flops onto the couch with an indescribable noise. She stays there for a few seconds until she looks up and sits back up.

"Do you think it was good enough? I worked really hard on everything, but Neechan asked for a new song and it had to be perfect!"

[2) Afterparty]

Rinku's recharged as soon as she's out and among the people. The self-doubt of the other day is gone, and she's signing people's programs and hugging her friends when she sees them.

"How was that? Who'd you vote for? The votes are gonna tally any minute now!"

"You were great! And, uh. That one song. Was pretty good I think. Even though I would have liked a warning to brace myself first."

"But you told me to write you a song instead of give you towels or candy dishes or whatever else, Neechan. Why wouldn't I perform it?"

Annie lifts her eyebrows, then shakes her head at Rinku. This has frankly all been overwhelming, but she'd said she'd show, and so there was no way she couldn't when making the effort to be something approximately friend shaped, whatever that meant.

"You, who else?" Sure, she knew Bakugo and was working with the whole concept of training the hot-headed teenager new-vampire, but Rinku is why she'd bothered coming. (And the music wasn't terrible. It was just a lot.)

Rinku gasped and lit up.

"Really? That's amazing! But everyone did so well! You could really tell they all have different styles, and the music means a lot to them, just like me!"

Amazingly, Evangeline is not wearing a suit to a DJ competition. (If she can't feel safe at a venue starring her sister, her boyfriend, her friend with benefits, and also a coupe of literal superheroes, where can she feel safe?) She's wearing a sparkly purple and blue club outfit that's much more appropriate for the event.

She cheers and dances with enthusiasm to all of the songs except Rinku's song that is very definitely about her and her girlfriends/boyfriends, during which she retreats to the furthest corner of the audience and hides her face in her hands. Do not perceive her.

At the afterparty, she makes conversation with other attendees: "How am I going to decide who to vote for? Everyone was really good..."

Or, if any of the DJs approach her: "You were great! The crowd loved you!"

[Guessssss who's a little overwhelmed by his own performance?
This guy. Yup. Unsurprisingly for those who know him, he's gone and found himself a spot to hide in a corner literally the instant he's no longer performing and cleared off his stuff...
He might need, like, friendly conversation. Maybe a snack. Or a blanket - he's left his cloak at home, after all.

... It doesn't help that his ball robot's just loose, floating around backstage with everyone and puttering around seeing what everyone's doing.
If someone looks like they need help, they'll even get a robotic-sounding, "Hiya! Do you need assistance?" from the goofy little thing.
It's clearly Chipp's voice, just... modulated. Recorded and spliced to work like any ol' automated voice would. What voice would one of his robots have if not his own, after all?]

[B - the afterparty]

[Oh, god, all this food. Look at it all - it's like Rinku's targeting him specifically with this catering??
The poor guy's so torn, standing beside one of the tables with his hands against it, looking over all the options... but eating means taking off his helmet in the middle of a big, public gathering, and he's still not quite there yet.

So he's apparently just going to torture himself instead, staring at all the stuff he'd love to be shoving into his face if it weren't for his screen.
At least this means he's easy to find for anyone who wants to hit him up about his performance?

(... He's whining a little bit. Just a little.)

As for the ball robot? It's just puttering in stupid little circles above his head, around his antennae.]

[Evangeline's gonna end up getting the smallest little static shock from smooching his helmet, but it's just leftovers from his performance. The smallest little pop, nothing too bad at all.

And both that and the question get him to look toward her... after which, he nods.]

Mhm. If you got somewher else to go - I don't wanna leave the party or nothin'.
Just, y'know...

[He motions to the helmet. Like, all of the helmet. All of it.]

You did great, all your stuff sounded amazing! I bet the house loved it!

[Meanwhile Chipp looks like his soul's just about ready to leave his body... which is saying a lot, considering his soul IS his body.
But at least he unfurls a little, antennae perking up when he sees it's Rinku making her way over.]

Lord, I hope so - I worked hard on it all! Hard-hard; ain't put this much elbow grease into my music in a long time...!

Porty & MK Mingle Part 1 [Backstage]

Porty is bouncing excitedly as he is waiting his turn backstage. He has three water bottles next to him, two empty, and one half empty. He cracks his knuckles and looks again at the CD mix before looking at MK in his dancer outfit.

"You got all the moves memorized, OG?"

"I got it, Porty. Don't worry. The clones and I aren't going to let you down. You should slow down on the water too." MK smiles slightly and sits down after putting on his last glowstick bracelet.

"It's going to be fine," Porty repeats to himself. "It's all gonna be fine. I'm not going to go bad. I'm going badass," he mumbles to himself.

Porty Mingle Part 2 [Afterparty]

Porty is hyped and feeling like he's king of the world. Those sets were all fantastic and now they get to porty! He grabs some drinks and walks over to the first people he sees, offering cool beverages.

"What is up, porty people? Is this not the best porty ever or what, am I right?"

MK Mingle [Afterparty]

MK is more subdued as he sits in a booth and nurses a beer. He watches the others having fun. This is Porty's night and he doesn't want to get in the way or take up the spotlight. Plus he has a lot of think about. Like, what was Porty going for there at the end? Guess it would leave an impact on the audience. Definitely left an impact on him.

Rinku pops up from the side, hugging both of them with a happy noise.

"I've been really excited for this! It'll be a ton of fun, don't worry. Everyone's got such a different vibe, it's like a real festival!"

"R-Right! Right. It's gonna be awesome. We'll do great and then just have a big fun porty after. Yeah. Totally."
