WHO: Reiner Braun, Hijikata Toshirou, Levi Ackerman, Jean Kirstein, Eren Jaeger WHAT: any threads taking place during their exploration of Survival Fortress WHEN: June WHERE: various WARNINGS: tba
[Jean is making sure his Hammerspace Purse has what it should. Weapons, food supplies, other useful items. All of them were there as needed.]
Yeah, I do.
[He says as he pulls out a pair of ghost-quartz ear cuffs and puts them on his ears. Might as well start wearing them now than forget about it later. He also has a ring of the same design, along with his blue dragon ring - and two different brooches; one ghost quartz and one lion-one. His safety pin is safely attaches to the collar of his scout uniform. His animal amulet & travel crystal are on a magically protected necklace, along with his wedding ring (since he doesn't want anything to happen to it, but also doesn't want to lave it at home).]
You don't have any shady tentacles with you this time, do you?
[ Reiner, too, has opted for wearing jewelry to house his increasing number of amulets. On his necklace, he has two mount summoning amulets, one 'regular' and one dark. On his right wrist, he wears a bracelet given to him by Marco; it holds his latest amulet, one that lets him talk to animals. His Red String Ring remains on his left hand, as always, and his Safety Pin is fastened near his collar.
He's not wearing the Scout uniform, though his shirt is his favored dark green. To an outsider, he might almost look like he belongs to them.
He watches Jean gear up, pleased to see that Guardian Brooch in place. Then, of course, Jean asks his question. ]
Shad— it's not shady, [ he protests. ] It's a useful tool!
[Jean turns to give Reiner a look of 'Oh really?' as he makes sure his Status Lenses are in their glasses case before putting them in the Hammerspace Purse.]
It is shady. I saw them on sale in the Shady Shop. Why would you rely on something from there?
Hey, that shop has some real hidden gems. [ Reiner digs into his own Hammerspace Purse, then pulls out an Unlimited Cookie Jar. ] Like this! Unlimited food, Jean.
Just because the shop is on the cheaper side doesn't mean everything from there is defective.
You just have to test them out, [ Reiner says, waving a dismissive hand. ] Which you should be doing for that other shop, too.
The only weird side effect of the tentacle is that it gets too grabby. But that's exactly what you want when you're climbing something: a rope that will grab and help you. It's a great product.
I gave one to Marco. He didn't have any complaints.
I do tests those and the hasn't been problems so far.
[He flicks a card from his sleeve before throwing it down, cutting a rock in the process. It's regular looking card with the Ace of Spades that will feel completely normal if Reiner picks it up.]
You and Hijikata are both weird with those. Don't come complaining to me if it strangles you when you sleep or something.
[Jean just gives him a look. He would continue the joke but he doesn't want to go into the 'You'd be back in three days to complain' side. Since it's been two years since he came out of his own flower now.
He takes back the card, however.]
They are. It took some practice to get better with precision throws.

[Well, the Unlimited Cookie Jar had raisins, which wasn't dangerous, but it sure was weird.]
I wouldn't swear my life on any of the items there.

[ He's teasing, as he leans down to pick up the card. It does indeed feel like a normal playing card!
Offering it back: ]
Those look handy.

Can you use them as normal cards, too?
no subject
Yeah. The deck has 52 cards, so they can be used normal. Just don't throw it at anyone while playing.
no subject
Yeah, that would turn a game into something not fun very quickly.

[He shrugs. Snowskeletons were silly, they might even start playing.]
no subject
See if you can win a few knucklebones from them, first. I bet that's what they trade.
no subject
Got it. Anyway, I'll go check something with Hijikata.
[He puts a hand on Reiner's shoulder for a moment before turning to walk off.]
See you soon.
