And Booze!
WHO: Marisa Kirisame, Reimu Hakurei, and literally anyone else who feels like dropping by
WHAT: A few days ago, Marisa talked about organizing an ice breaker of sorts. Tonight, it's happening.
WHEN: Early April
WHERE: Bars around Nightwake
WARNINGS: Alcohol, bad decisions
-6pm-
The evening started at the Summer Guild Hall, with snacks and just kind of hanging around and chatting until a few people showed up. Everyone was still sober at this point. Things are a little bit awkward right now since most of you don't know each other, but there's chips and dip, though, and someone provided a veggie tray.
-8pm-
Eventually the group made their way to a pool hall. Drinks are flowing at this point, but no one is likely particularly drunk at this point unless they're really working at it. Play some billiards, drink some beer, get some overpriced nachos, and get to know your fellow partyers.
-10pm-
After some pool, the group wandered over to a karaoke bar. Prepare for terrible singing (or maybe some of you actually CAN sing??? Marisa sure can't, at least.). Maybe link a song that captures the vibes of what your character is singing and give us some idea of how well they're singing it. Sing a duet with someone! Heckle people for being terrible at this! Get cold feet and pass the microphone off to someone else! The options are endless!
-12am-
After singing their hearts out, the group that was still awake staggered along to a dive bar. The clientele are keeping to themselves, the barkeeper looks surly, the drinks are suspicious, and the room is filled with gloomy corners. This is the part of the night where you semi-incoherently lay your deepest secrets bare to people who you don't know that well but are perfectly confident that these are the most important and trustworthy people in the world.
-???am-
Mistakes were made. Oh god. Where are we? Why does the world keep spinning? Where do I live? I think I'm gonna be sick...
[OOC note: the drinking age in Nightwake City is apparently 18. Consider this an open mingle post, rather than a post with Marisa specifically.]

[ Man, if he were talking to anyone else, he would not hesitate to make a dark joke at his own expense about how his mother's dead anyway, but look. A responsibility to teach Nen is definitely emerging as a pattern from their conversations. ]

Have you ever had a baby before?
[ Yuri just sounds like he knows a lot about it...okay ]
no subject
I mean. Not yet.
i laughed lmsdgs
[ Yuri's young, healthy...has definitely already gone through puberty... This is probably a great time for him
to marry Flynnto do that sort of thing. ]good good
That's some very rude strikeout, young Nenling]—A few reasons, but we can start with the biological one. [ After all, you know what eggs are and that they need fertilization! Or, someone told you like 1/5th of the truth, and you repeated it convincingly. ] Wrong, uh, set of equipment.
no subject
idk what you mean it is merely truthsI'm not gonna say Nen wondered because of his long hair and gorgeous everything, but. nen might've wondered. a little. ]
Males must also contribute genetic material in order to fertilize the egg cell. Have you not done that either?
no subject
I mean. Not always, actually.
But I haven't had any little Yuris in any way, shape, or form. Sorry to disappoint.
no subject
...Do you want any?
[ Nen's actually quite curious about that after Venti mentioned biological imperatives not being crucial to finding someone you're interested in. ]
no subject
Nope.
[ No, like, fear in his eyes or anything, just a nope. ]
no subject
I thought all humans wished to continue their species on an instinctive level. Is there a reason you do not want to?
no subject
Yeah. A few different ones.
First of all, a lot of people who wanna have kids? It's not just abstract. They want 'em with a specific person. And I don't have anyone like that.
[ strikeout not withstanding ]
Second? I grew up in the Lower Quarter orphanage. If I'm ever in a stable enough situation to feel like I can take care of kids — I'd wanna adopt.
no subject
Oh--I've heard of an orphanage before. You fill big rooms with lots of beds and small children with no families.
[ It's a bit blunt? Crass? But it's what Nen's gathered about them after talking to Wolfwood about orphanages all of one (1) time. ]
no subject
you might get to meet himwe'll see, they're voice testing]Uh... something like that?
The one I grew up in was more like one big room. We didn't have a lot of building to spare.
no subject
GASPPPP]That must have been a small orphanage. I thought they were bigger than one room.
no subject
♥] [ Well, a blank moment. ]...Like I said, we didn't have a lot of building to spare.
It was a lot of kids crammed into a small space.

But most people in my neighborhood could barely take care of the kids they already had, so. We just aged out. Got big enough to take care of ourselves, more or less.

[ That seems...a little unfortunate, but Yuri also seems to be doing just fine for himself too. It's not like Nen knows what it's like to be raised by a family either, and despite everything that's happened in their world, they think they've 'grown up' adequately as well. ]
Congratulations. Learning to be self-sufficient without guidance would be rather difficult.

—It is a lot of people, though.

Zaphias has a few hundred thousand people calling it home.
no subject
[ And of course, Nen is imagining a house or apartment for each of them, and that's just so many that they can't even wrap their head around that kind of number. ]
no subject
[ Yuri, that's not a helpful answer and you know it. ]
—Sorry. It's... I don't know. The city was built long before I was born. It overflowed at some point, I guess, because the Lower Quarter is all on the outside of the city walls.
