[Open Log] Repeating the same story
WHO: Jean Kirstein & Open
WHAT: Old habits die hard, so Jean is training again + other things
WHEN: Start of May, before the event
WHERE: Nightwake + Other places
WARNINGS: Will warn in threads when they come up
A: Weapon Training
(Dayrise Coliseum)
Somehow, Jean had ended up training with multiple weapons. Mostly it was because of his trust weapons manifesting as completely different weapons, but it was also just his general curiosity about different methods to fight.
His most recent addition has been a pair of tonfa. It would mean very close combat, but with weapons anyway. A little bit more strike power with them equipped. At least being hit by wooden or metallic tonfa sounded like it would hurt quite a bit. Too bad the training dummy didn't really provide feedback about that.
Another weapon he was still getting used to was a chain whip. He'd gotten better with it, but precision was still bit of an issue. He could cheat a bit by using telekinesis, but he wanted to do it properly, which is why he was training a lot of the same movement over and over again.
B: Seasonal Abilities
(Dayrise Coliseum/Solarpeak Summer Guild)
By now, Jean had mastered the Fire Wings. They took the form of eagle-like wings on his back and he was able to fly with them rather easily. Occasionally he kept the wings on his back while practicing other abilities, just to see how long he could keep them on without completely exhausting himself.
This month his new focus was disintegrating things. Namely, the items he had set up on stones. Most he had managed to do so far has been tossing them far away with telekinesis and lightly nick a corner of something away with the ability.
Of course after losing in the Season Cup he's practicing the abilities he's already good at. Clearly he wasn't good enough when he dropped out so quickly. So he's definitely punching and kicking out fire at air, wearing a sleeveless shirt and sweating quite a bit.
C: Breaks
(Dayrise Coliseum/Solarpeak Summer Guild/Blossomcrown Park)
Occasionally Jean "practices" his animal transformation. This usually meant napping somewhere as a cat. For his newest cat transformation he had chosen a maine coon. A big one at that.
D: Hunting (Closed to CR)
(Segment of Choice)
Jean liked to go hunting when it was getting near full moon. Meat was something that was needed a lot during that time, so he wanted to be prepared. Of course he could just buy meat, but hunting satisfied his inner wolf even better somehow, even if he wasn't transformed.
Of course he wouldn't go into the Segments alone, so he always took someone with him to his hunting trips. It was the same today.
"Thanks for coming with me."

Either or both sound great, actually. I want to learn to wield one, since it's a trust weapon. It would be good to know how to use one well if I end up needing it.

What's a trust weapon? But sure. We can go over my daily routine after if you want, it's a good idea to refuel after so we can get something to eat. First though, hmmm.
{ he hums loudly, trying to think of how he'd first started with this. }
Usually you'll want this not necessarily to harm directly, but to trap or trip someone or something. So I guess it depends on how you've been approaching it too.

They're magic that lets two people who trust each other form a bond. That bond will manifest as a weapon. The wielder draws it from the vessel.
[It sounds kind of silly when you explain it.]
I've mostly been thinking about using it as a support weapon, to help keep opponents in place, since I have enough weapons for offense. So I've been trying to train my accuracy.

{ a bit of an odd choice if they get to choose the weapon, but you do you bro. }
But yeah, if it's for that I can train you up. Would it help to feel what you'd experience first? It won't hurt, just feel a bit tight I guess.

[Very rude, Jean. But also fair.
Jean has to think about the suggestion a bit first before he nods.]
Sure, why not. I've done stranger things.

Is that really something you should say about someone you have that close of a bond with you make a trust weapon with them?
{ they'll get to the live demo in a sec okay, let him laugh about this. }

I'm his sworn younger brother. I'm allowed to be a jerk at him. It will keep him a least a little humble.
[If there's anyone who needs to be occasionally dragged down from their high horse it's Hijikata.]

{ 1. yes, he said irl as irl. 2. he really didn't expect it to be a Thing when it normally only comes up in movies. }
