[Open Log] Repeating the same story
WHO: Jean Kirstein & Open
WHAT: Old habits die hard, so Jean is training again + other things
WHEN: Start of May, before the event
WHERE: Nightwake + Other places
WARNINGS: Will warn in threads when they come up
A: Weapon Training
(Dayrise Coliseum)
Somehow, Jean had ended up training with multiple weapons. Mostly it was because of his trust weapons manifesting as completely different weapons, but it was also just his general curiosity about different methods to fight.
His most recent addition has been a pair of tonfa. It would mean very close combat, but with weapons anyway. A little bit more strike power with them equipped. At least being hit by wooden or metallic tonfa sounded like it would hurt quite a bit. Too bad the training dummy didn't really provide feedback about that.
Another weapon he was still getting used to was a chain whip. He'd gotten better with it, but precision was still bit of an issue. He could cheat a bit by using telekinesis, but he wanted to do it properly, which is why he was training a lot of the same movement over and over again.
B: Seasonal Abilities
(Dayrise Coliseum/Solarpeak Summer Guild)
By now, Jean had mastered the Fire Wings. They took the form of eagle-like wings on his back and he was able to fly with them rather easily. Occasionally he kept the wings on his back while practicing other abilities, just to see how long he could keep them on without completely exhausting himself.
This month his new focus was disintegrating things. Namely, the items he had set up on stones. Most he had managed to do so far has been tossing them far away with telekinesis and lightly nick a corner of something away with the ability.
Of course after losing in the Season Cup he's practicing the abilities he's already good at. Clearly he wasn't good enough when he dropped out so quickly. So he's definitely punching and kicking out fire at air, wearing a sleeveless shirt and sweating quite a bit.
C: Breaks
(Dayrise Coliseum/Solarpeak Summer Guild/Blossomcrown Park)
Occasionally Jean "practices" his animal transformation. This usually meant napping somewhere as a cat. For his newest cat transformation he had chosen a maine coon. A big one at that.
D: Hunting (Closed to CR)
(Segment of Choice)
Jean liked to go hunting when it was getting near full moon. Meat was something that was needed a lot during that time, so he wanted to be prepared. Of course he could just buy meat, but hunting satisfied his inner wolf even better somehow, even if he wasn't transformed.
Of course he wouldn't go into the Segments alone, so he always took someone with him to his hunting trips. It was the same today.
"Thanks for coming with me."

This was definitely a healthy approach, right? Oh well, it wouldn't be the first time...
With a sigh, she flopped down to sit down in one of the seating areas to take a break and- oh. That was a large cat!]
Hey, you... what are you doing snoozing here, hm?
[A soft voice, just in case it was sleeping.]

[A quick nod as she checked over her equipment.
Truth be told, she could do with the distraction. To get out of the city... and not think about the situation with Ryoko. Maybe the chance to hunt was just what she needed.
Besides, her inner wolf needed satisfying too.]
...Any sign of tracks?
[That would at least give them a starting point.]

White Rabbit approaches the man and stops within the line of sight of the man without getting too close.
"Excuse me. Would you prefer a live sparring partner? I am new to this world and am feeling a tad restless," he said as he draw the sword from his back.

[Rinku trains at the Summer Guild a lot, and right now, she's completely forgotten the training sword in her hand in favour of watching Jean doing some kind of fighting game move with his fire.]
That's really cool! What gave you the idea to do it that way?

I didn't know fire wings were a thing.
[She wonders if she can pull that off with her normal psychic abilities or if it's only possible with the seasonal fire...]

jean does seem like he's struggling though. so instead of losing the sleeve of the shirt he's wearing again, he tugs it off over his head, throws it on the floor out of the way. this way, it won't get ripped when he summons his own chain whip.
there's a gold light from his arm when he does, but this time no words are spoken. he isn't using it to fight demons in this case, so there's no reason to strengthen it with prayers. as soon as chains emerge from his arm and his hand is on the handle though, he'll flick it out until it's slamming into jean's to knock it out of the way. }
You'll need to put more upper body strength into it for it to move quick enough and still have strength to it.
