[There's a fish in the Solarpeak lake/pool today. A specific fish, and one that seems to be diving into the bottom of the pool and then dragging stuff up to the shore in its mouth. Mostly cool-looking seashells, come to think of it... What's with that?

Anyone who comes to shore to check it out will be greeted by the fish speaking in Rinku's voice when she surfaces.]

[2) Amberfall Library]

[Rinku's last trip in here to try and study didn't go well, mostly because she's really bad at it. But she's trying it anyway, and right now, with a basket full of romance novels (again?), she's wandering the cookbook section with a growing frown.]

There's a lot of books about cake, but I don't see any about blood yet...

[3) Gacha Arcade]

[Hey, remember the Gacha My Heart quest? Because that game store's still going strong, including the machines that run on touch energy, and Rinku is all over it today. This time, she's hit up a machine that advertises gift certificates for restaurants around the city. She pulls a ticket and reads it over.]

Aww, please play again? Okay!

[She looks and waves to the nearest person.]

Oh, hey, can you help? I'll need more touch energy to pull a bunch more!

[4) Grocery Store]

[Rinku is outside a grocery store, peering in from behind a telephone pole. If someone approaches, she'll look over, wave, and whisper to them.]

Shh! I'm following to make sure Mecchan does okay. He's on his first errand!

[Sure enough, when she points toward the shop doors, there's her Sobble, dragging a shopping tote bigger than he is behind him into the store and holding a shopping list in the other hand.]

Hmm, I should probably figure a cake out for Mecchan, too, but at least for him I can just buy one.

Hm... I used to just give him bugs and leaves and kibble, like Leon-kun, but as he got older and I saw it was okay, I started giving him human food. His favourite food is curry rice, and he likes shrimp-and-mayo pizza, but those aren't really cake flavours...

Hmm, yeah, not really. You could do spice cake maybe? That's kind of like curry.

Huh, that's true! It doesn't taste like curry, but he might like it anyway. Or since he's still a kid, maybe something like yellow cake that everyone has. I wanna do something for him maybe this month or next. Not during the End-of-Winter Festival, though, there's gonna be way too much excitement and he'd cry.

Oh, yeah, definitely not, he'd be overwhelmed. Some people can do big combo stuff but Mecchan is not one of them. Speaking of, did you know Max and I have the same birthday?

Wow, really? Wah! Wait, that means I didn't get him anything!

Oh! I'm sure he won't mind a late present?

I hope not, with how much it sounds like he's gone through. I did bring him a steak the night he got back, and some of Hina-chan's blood boxes in case that helped with magic at all.

I hope so. I don't really know how magic and blood are related and what helps with what.

It depends on the type of magic, so I can't really give a general explanation that always applies.

There are a lot of kinds, huh... I still gotta learn a lot more about this world's magic to start with. I'm doing better with the elastic body skill, though! The other day, we ran out of chocolate syrup, and I stretches out my tongue all the way to get the last drops out of the bottle!
