NEW YEAR'S CONCERT/PARTY MINGLE OTA
WHO: Everyone! Members of the Music Club who want to perform, everyone else who volunteered their services for the party, and anyone who wants to see them or just party for New Year's.
WHAT: The Music Club End-of-Year Live and New Year's Party
WHEN: Night of December 31
WHERE: Sunwaning Theatre
WARNINGS: None so far
After the ad had gone out, Rinku got to work organizing. She worked things out with the Sunwaning Theatre and booked both a concert hall and a meeting hall, got a permit from the city for fireworks, and got food and games sorted. Hey, maybe Eve had been right when she told her to pursue a career in party planning. Rinku would think about that later.
When people started arriving from 6 to 7 was the dinner and games. Guests would be directed to one of the theatre's meeting halls, where the performers would also be able to mingle around and eat. Food tables were there to sit down at, serving end-of-year Sunwaning standards like shrimp, fried fish, pickled lotus root, and plenty of mochi and candied chestnuts. The theatre's catering staff put a lot of work in!
Once the meal was finished, there was an array of games to go around and play. Some may be familiar from other parties and concert after/pre-parties, such as ring toss and Pin the Tail on the Human (the human has been reprinted after a few too many parties), but one stood out as new: the scavenger hunt! A selection of items were hidden around the meeting hall for people to mark down the locations of; some were easy, like a big ribbon tied to one of the tables, but others took more thought, like a cheki from a Riki concert sticking out of the frame of a painting on the wall. Everyone got candy who won one of the games before the time came to file out of the meeting hall and up into the theatre.
The concert ran later in the night, featuring the assorted talents of the Music Club both together and separately. From live remix covers to acoustic instrument solos to whatever Stelle was doing with that otamatone, everyone who wanted to was there with one goal: keeping the audience hyped to celebrate the new year. A giant disco ball hung over the audience, scattering the stage lights around. At the end of the night, the talents on the stage counted down to midnight, and the disco ball broke open and scattered paper confetti onto the audience as the cheer began.
Finally, as everyone filed outside at the end of the show, there was one more performance: a firework show, contracted out to Wylan. The colourful fireworks lit up the sky over Sunwaning for everyone to watch as they headed back to their homes (or other parties, or wherever else they wanted to go).

[It may not be a competition, but she wants to make sure Rinku knows that her hard work is seen!]
Still, the others were really impressive too. I've never seen an instrument like that strange flute before...
[Stelle's otamatone, that is.]
And the elemental magic was so nice to see with the guitar music!
[She doesn't know Shoto's name either... she really ought to get to know her fellow otherworlders better.]

[Once more, she imagines the people of the Walls living in Ellipsa's society. How happy would they be? But then again, the majority of them is happy right now, as it is, back in her time. After all, they don't know any other ways of life. They enjoy what they can - the spring- and harvest festivals, the change of the seasons, the small moments of joy in their mundane everyday life.]
If we keep working together like this, we'll be able to accomplish much more in the new year.
[Both in terms of joint events and the bigger picture of saving Ellipsa. She bought herself a Potion of New Powers... now she only needs to identify a worthwhile ability to attain.]

What do you think of the fireworks? Kantera-san sent me to a friend of his, Wylan-san! He made them all himself!

[The fireworks of Nightwake, magical or otherwise, are always a real treat (much as the ones with sound can give titan shifters war flashbacks), and she can clearly tell the differences between each show - it's yet another art form that doesn't exist in the Walls.]

[She may lack specific skillsets, but she can carry things to and fro or handle more simple steps in complex processes (assuming an expert like Wylan would even want that) - and, of course, she can talk to vendors and arrange for deliveries, put up decorations and things like that.]
I know you have other people helping you, but I want you to always count me in!

[Frankly, when she thinks about what Evangeline likes the most, "monsters" and "sex" stand out - not that she doesn't have an interest in many more things besides, but to Frieda, these set her apart from everyone else's passions. Alas, neither is particulary suitable for a general party... unless they're smart about it. Sexy present, for one, aren't off the table as long as everyone around for the gift-giving is an adult!]
Maybe we can consider inviting some people from other dimensions who know her? She told me about the one she chose for her portal gun! But only if those people would feel comfortable coming here.
[The culture seems quite different... but then, people are adaptable!]

It's the 14th! But since it's a holiday, I thought maybe we should have the party on the weekend before, like the 8th, and then she can do her other thing on the next weekend. That way no one who's on a date on the 14th or going to something else will be busy!
[And, on an OOC level, it leaves things open for Stelle's date auction that Rinku ICly doesn't know about yet.]
Oh, that's a great idea! I should get her to visit the dimension I picked, I bet she'd get along with all the glomon.

Right, the day of love is in February! What a nice birthday! But what is that other thing she does?
[She just hopes that it isn't anything self-isolating! Sociable as Evangeline is, the scars her world left on her are still there. She's seen many people die, probably several who never got to turn as old as her.]

Evangeline really knows how to have fun..! That's good for her!
[In a way, she's really curious... but she couldn't!!]
Then, we can make ours totally family-friendly. It's not like she'll be missing out on anything if she has two parties!

That sounds like a plan - especially if we do invite people from other dimensions, like the glomon!

[And without Rinku, too... so she'll make sure to prepare some nice things for her birthday in summer as well! For now, though, they still have the new year to celebrate.]

[Complete with spin and point.]
