All those months of work are paying off, and Rinku and Mary have moved to Solarpeak! Their new house, a beach-stilt-style house in walking distance from the Summer Guild building, is bright inside and out, and today there are balloons and games set up underneath the house and a wide-open door up the stairs leading into it.

Anyone who knows Rinku and/or Mary will have been invited to party; housewarming gifts are accepted but not required, and food is provided, ordered in from nearby restaurants. The bedrooms are closed but everywhere else is open, and if you need to get away from the party, you can go sit outside... or if Mecchan isn't scared of you, he might let you chill in his room for a while. Otherwise, have fun with the games, the art room, the music room, the food, and anything else!

[If this were anyone else, she wouldn't second guess this dare, but this is Max... Nothing is free, but neither has he specified a price, and she doesn't think he can just enforce a price after fulfilling something... But wishing for something small would be transparently afraid of paying whatever price there is, so she has to wish for something at least somewhat meaningful, something she can't do on her own, but not so huge that she can't pay for it.]

I wish to become as good a big sister as Rinku deserves.

[Max smiles when she makes the wish. She is so careful. Well done. In truth, playing the game is the price for the wish. It's a fun little dare. He loves seeing how far or short people go with it. How selfish or selfless they will be. And, of course, Evangeline is selfless. He smiles softly.]

That's a pretty wish. Funnily enough, I can't grant it. It's already come true.

I don't really lie, Evangeline. I don't think so. I know so. She has a strong honest older sister who looks out for her.

That defines good in most books.

[He'll give her time to have that emotion.]

[That grin slips and for a moment Max actually looks nervous and unsure. He thinks for a long moment. What does the wish granter wish for?]

I wish...Esme was always happy and safe. That's my biggest wish.

That's a good wish. [Gently.] I can't snap my fingers and grant it, but I promise I'll look out for him as much as I can.

[Max's smile softens as he nods.]

Thank you, Evangeline. I appreciate it. A lot. He needs good people looking out for him. He's a trouble magnet and he doesn't mean for it to happen at all.

Can you turn water into wine? I hear that's a classic.

Why yes I can. I can also turn water into full cocktails, beer, and hard liquor too.

Hmm. What about soda? Milkshakes?

All of the above.

Alright, then I dare you to turn the water on the refreshments table to milkshake.

[Max stands up and walks over to the table. The language is vague so he's gonna be fun. He snaps his fingers and all of the water all turns into a bunch of milkshakes. All different flavors, colors, and with different toppings.]

Voila.

Oooh, looks good!

-I want to get a milkshake now, but I also want you to give me a dare, I've totally played myself. Woops.

I mean, I dare you to chug a milkshake.

That works for me!

[She grabs a chocolate milkshake and chugs the whole thing. By the end, she's wincing a little bit.]
