Shadow and Sonic | Post Canon-Update
The flower, a massive Siberian Blue Squill, appeared in the Winter flower garden. On the third day, it bloomed. Shadow stepped out of it, all the clothes he was wearing pure white. He took one step, then a second, then he stopped. He stared at the ground, eyes unfocused. Which, for Shadow, was a first. He just stood there. His mind trying to process what just happened.
He didn't even notice Sonic was there.
Re: Shadow and Sonic | Post Canon-Update
The sound of something hitting the ground makes him stir, and he peeks out form under his blanket. A split second later he's launched himself off the ground, the blanket tossed into the air haphazardly to free up his arms. Said arms were, of course, slung around Shadow from behind with no warning, and the force with which he'd slammed into him was more than likely enough to knock his ass over in his disoriented state. He'll apologize later.
Re: Shadow and Sonic | Post Canon-Update
Then he just laid there. He was breathing at least. His breath rolling out with every exhale.
Re: Shadow and Sonic | Post Canon-Update
He's quick to notice that Shadow isn't uuuuuh, reacting at all. He quickly pushes himself off of Shadow and rolls him over, quickly retrieves his blanket from wherever it had landed and knocks the snow off before returning to Shadow.
"Ah geez, man, I'm sorry. I freaked out, I didn't-- here, can you sit up?"
He takes one of Shadow's arms and tries to tug him into a sitting position. Snow sucks dude oops.
Re: Shadow and Sonic | Post Canon-Update
"It's fine," He said finally. His voice was neutral and almost robotic.
Re: Shadow and Sonic | Post Canon-Update
"I was about to start yellin' about how much it sucked without you here, buuuut I'm just gonna put that on the backburner. What happened, dude? You look like hell."
I'm fine is obviously bullshit, come on.
Re: Shadow and Sonic | Post Canon-Update
"My world is gone. I failed. I couldn't keep my promise..." Shadow grabbed either side of his head. Saying it out loud made it real. He had no world to return to anymore. There was no Green Hills, no Earth, nothing to protect.
"I failed her again."
Re: Shadow and Sonic | Post Canon-Update
He doesn't ask him to elaborate, can't think of anything to say, all he can manage in the moment is wrapping his arms securely around Shadow and pulling him into a tight hug. What the fuck, man.
Re: Shadow and Sonic | Post Canon-Update
Slowly Sonic would feel Shadow's arms wrap around him. Shadow buried his face into Sonic's neck. The fur on Sonic's cheeks and down his neck would start to feel damp. Was it the snow? Was it raining? No. No it wasn't. Those were tears. Shadow's frame struggled against the shaking and he didn't make any noise. He couldn't fight or stop the tears though.

April Questing Prompts
A strange substance that could grow plants in the frigid cold? Shadow wanted to see exactly what was happening with that. It could help the winter segments grow food for themselves easily. Six jars of it could take some work to gather. Shadow headed for the springs and found a few collections of the glittering shiny glue. Rather large slugs were nearby and seemed to secrete the substance from their bodies.
Using a knife he brought, he tried to cut through the slime but the ice-slugs took exception to that quickly. They quickly warmed his hand to try and glue it down to the mound. Shadow pulled but the sticky substance quickly was trapping his arm. Thinking quickly, he pointed his airshoe at the ice-slugs and turned the boosters on. They slid away as the heat released him from the hold. The blade was hot and cut easily through the glue now.
Shadow watched the ice-slugs posture and try to warn him off of taking their hard made glue.
"Seems this is going to be more difficult than I thought."
[A Hundred Needles]
Reading the reports on the strange monsters, Shadow decided to investigate. Strange cactus monsters that only seemed to move when someone wasn't watching. He explored the spring dessert until he found a small group of them. He watched the creatures for a bit and turned his back. He turned back and they had indeed gotten closer. He turned around and quickly back again, catching one of the creatures stumbling as they tried to get closer. He turned to face the creatures.
"Your ambush techniques need work." The cacti didn't seem to take criticism lightly and erupted into a barrage of needles. Shadow quickly formed a shield of water that slowed and caught some of them. Others got through and stuck into his skin. He hissed.
"Alright. A fight it is," He said as he rushed forward with a spin-dash. He slammed into several of the monsters and their needles stuck more into Shadow as he launched them. He skid to a stop in the sand and pulled some needled from his arm. He had about twenty in him already.
"You're more stubborn than you look," He said as the monsters got to their feet and launched another barrage of needled at him.
[Motion Motivation]
Not every mission was dangerous on the quest boards. Shadow didn't suffer from motion sickness of course. He could just sell or give away the medicine the reward promised. He took a basket and walked the Great Ocean Lake's beach. He picked up shells and checked the way they felt in his hand. He was searching for the cold ones but found more of the other varieties. Some felt wet while others felt soft to the touch. Some were just normal shells. He sorted them in his basket and kept going. He looked around the beach for others gathering the same shells.
He spotted someone reaching for one that looked like the right kind. Shadow rocketed over and snatched it from the sand before they could grab it and put it in his basket.
[Golden Repairs]
The mining of the gold veins at the lake was the easy part of this mission. Sure, it was hard work but it wasn't too difficult. What was the problem were the Apprentice Crows. They were everywhere and flinging fire balls and water jets to attack those trying to mine the gold. Shadow opted to focus on protecting the workers from the crows themselves. Water whips lashed out at the crows, trying to smack them out of the air. He created water to block and extinguish the fire balls while manipulating the water the crows cast down at everyone.
His airshoes' thrusters ignited as he moved up a tree and launched himself out to spin-dash at the crows and slammed into a few of them. If he could make it difficult for them to focus on the miners, it was worth it.
"Focus on gathering the gold. Leave these pests to me," He said as more workers arrived.
[Under(wear) Cover Mission (NSFW)]
Here.
Golden Repairs
[Rinku pumps her fist and cheers. Another crow shoots fire, and she grabs control of the fire, stops it mid-air, and sends it back where it came from.]
This is kinda fun, actually!
Re: Golden Repairs
"You can enjoy it but remember to stay focused. They aren't a threat themselves but there are a lot of them," Shadow warned as he saw several apprentices starting to gather together.

[Rinku pulls out her ribbon stick and begins moving around, drawing the birds' fire and shooting light at them.]
Evangeline-neechan worries way too much, too.

[Rinku pouts a little, but she dances out of the way of a water ball and strikes three times back in succession.]
But these guys aren't even all that hard to beat.

More apprentices gathered and threw a rather large fireball, combining their smaller ones together. Shadow answered with a geyser of water at the fireball to weaken it.

It's way easier than Neechan's training, though. She's super hard on me.

Shadow and Shoto | First Sparring Session
The fact Shoto had met another version of himself. Could it be Sonic's version or another one all together? He was interested to ask about it after their sparring session had ended. He wondered how different he was between the different Zones or Shatter Spaces. Whatever people wanted to call them.
For now he would focus on stretching to make sure he was ready for his match with his new student.

Luckily, the coliseum isn't as full as what he's seen at peak hours, and likely, the area is equipped for more than what its guests seem capable of. It's for the best, seeing how massive his Quirk's become, and what a pain this means to show off... His seeing the other still brings things back, and though he tries—avoids comparisons in any ways he can think of—he can't help seeing too-curious eyes across from shortcakes and coffee. He stuffs this down; makes himself forget a "boy" whose mind he's sure he hasn't crossed; bowing instead as though he can't recall his face at all.
Not the same.
His smile's sweet.
"I should be good to go on my end..."
no subject
"It seems so. Very well," The smile faded as Shadow readied himself. "Come at me with everything you've got."
no subject
He lets it fall; sweeps it downwards in force of a white, weighted sea wave.
If anything, he means to demonstrate that he isn't holding back.

Apologies, my brain was stuck on this a bit...!
He trips steps back.
"You're still as fast as ever, I see..."
(As if he'd expected any less...?)
"You're not leaving me much of a choice, though."
Re: Apologies, my brain was stuck on this a bit...!
"Most enemies will not leave you a choice. Especially those with lethal intentions. And I want to see what you can do. Now is your fire fast enough to hit me?" Shadow moved fast and zoomed around the coliseum, challenging Shoto to try and hit him.
no subject
"You're not wrong. I've just always... been a step behind."
