{ ayato actually hasn't gone home yet today, after finishing a quest instead deciding to call somewhere for a drink first. it's becoming more of a habit, trying new places as suggestions for whenever he meets up with someone for drinks at any point. he isn't trusting enough to invite people over to his, and conversation flows a lot more easily when the other party is tipsy. information is easier to pry out of another person in that state.

and as he sips on his drink of choice tonight (something fruitier than intended, but he's willing to try something once) his eyes shift over to the upbeat music when it starts.

the melancholy piano was more his style, the upbeat tempo of the guitar is a little too happy, at least for the thoughts he's currently sifting through in his head.

but if he stops himself and allows himself to actually enjoy the music, it is rather relaxing. it forces him to stop for the time being, and enjoy the music for what it is.

it feels like years since he's done that.

whenever kaeya stops to take a break he'll give a slow clap with the rest of the tavern, before he makes his way over. }

I dislike being idle. { which isn't necessarily true, he just seems to have forgotten how to be. and he can't rest, there's too much on his mind lately. } And really, exploring the other areas is more helpful than problematic.

I can't help but try different drinks offered at different places when I'm practically done for the day. Though I have to say, only the brewery seems to be up to par.

Heh, no, I don't. I haven't played in years, in fact. But I suppose the dreary song was a bit too much for me.

[He won't admit that being at least a little inebriated had something to do with it either. It wasn't like he was all that tipsy to begin with. He was usually a morose drunk, so the music certainly switched gears within for him.]

I am. Nightwake City has its charm but I prefer areas like this. It may not be Mondstadt, but it works just as well.

[Also helps that it was one of two cities to specialize in horses, so that narrowed down the choice significantly.

Not that he anticipated actually choosing an apartment where he was literally on the same floor as Diluc.]

No, it was simply a song that I played a lot. It was hard to forget, that's all. It really is not so incredible as it seems. I assure you.

I can understand wanting that, instead of the bustle of the centre. I imagine we'll be moving somewhere quieter as well.
