The MK Intimidation Squad
WHO: Red Son, Wukong, Macaque
WHAT: Payback
WHEN: After the masquerade
WHERE: A location not too far from the underground mall
WARNINGS: Violence, demon intimidation tactics, spicy talk
The Hearts Gang was lucky in many ways. The luck was in that the fact the person they messed with was MK, who was overall a very good boy who preferred it if no one had to get seriously hurt for problem solving.
The bad luck was the fact the person they messed with was MK and he had three extremely protective immortals who are willing to go as far as they think they can without truly upsetting him and there was enough wiggle room in that for an extremely bad time to be had.
Red Son probably could have had the information sooner, but working on Saya's hibernation project took priority. Helping loved ones was more important than revenge. But he had kept out the feelers, slipped in some sabotage, kept up the work enough to get the information he wanted. It still took a bit of time after, but he had it.
He had the full list of names of every Heart Gang member who was working the day MK arrived on Ellipsa. And he found a day where in that full list of names should be present again. There were a few others, but frankly, he didn't much care for collateral damage. They were part of the same gang, they would have done the same thing, so they deserved it well enough. All that mattered is that all of those who COULD have been involved WERE present.
So a few days before hand, he sends a message to Wukong and Macaque.
They should all be present finally to be taught their overdue lesson. Along with the day, time, and where to meet.
Red Son wasn't far from the facility, waiting for the other two to arrive not long after sunset. Wearing a new hairpin with red gems and has a small cooler nearby because hey, he's never one to be remiss about achieving more than one goal at a time.

[Maybe he's just that bad at this. Maybe that's why he can show his intent that well. His arm presses tight into his side as he curls up a little, effectively pinning Macaque's tail. It won't stop him leaving if he really decides to...but...]
no subject
[ The words are enough to keep him where he is, though the curling up with his tail helps. Okay, he can stay. (He's so relieved he gets to stay.) ]
You're okay, right? No more changing...?
[ Because he'll be honest, you seem incredibly -- dull. He's not used to Sun Wukong being anything but all over the place. ]
no subject
No. I've been me since then.
no subject
[ (What can he say that won't violate what he just agreed to, about time?) ]
So when did you start distributing cardboard cutouts of yourself all over the place?
[ Look, it's a change of subject. He's trying. ]
no subject
[The attempt is appreciated. So is the attempt at confort. He just...wishes things weren't so complicated with them.]
no subject
The first time one of those things started talking at me, I stumbled and almost fell on my face.
no subject
With your hearing it must have sounded like I was practically in your ear.
no subject
All my ears. I should sue you for emotional distress.

Of course you went all in on the corporate thing. I was wondering how you could afford all the games and things. [ The VR headset is actually pretty cool. ] Or electricity way out there.
no subject
[But yeah, let corporate stuff handle most everything else.]
no subject
What's the best thing about the modern era? I'm trying to catch up. [ Which he's not saying to be pointed. Hopefully his low, casual tone makes that clear? ]
no subject
Hands down it's still fireworks. They get better every year.
no subject
You know what I meant. [ He flicks Wukong's arm lightly with his tail. Playful, or something in that realm. ]
Fine, though. Have it your way. If they have any of them here you can point out the best ones. And if you say "all of them" I swear I can't be held responsible for myself.
no subject
[He chuckles again.]
Actually, I'm supposed to be introduced to someone who makes them.
no subject
If you could only pick one, and the other is eliminated for all time. Which are you keeping: fireworks or cute animals? The animals can stay, but they all get turned neutral-looking at best.
no subject
[He does respond in kind after a few seconds...just destressing slowly. Almost back to the atmosphere at the beach in a way. Closer, but also further away.]
no subject
[ Before he can stop himself, Macaque nuzzles just a bit at the back of Wukong's neck. In a way similar to what he used to do whenever Wukong returned from whatever ridiculous power-grab was his focus that moment, Macaque just wanting to bury himself in Wukong for as long as he could keep him still. It's the first time in this conversation that he's sounded like the Wukong that Macaque remembers, and loves, and he just reacted. ]
[ Wukong will probably feel Macaque pause after that little nuzzle, draw a slow breath, and, evidently, decide to move past it like it didn't happen. ]
--The pelts are nice. Where'd they come from?
no subject
[The nuzzle is familiar, stirring up feelings of comfort, closeness, affection, and wrmth. He's glad Macaque can't see him blush, because he's conflicted about the feelings right now.]
There are some werewolves outside of the city. They neutralize off-world powers, so I figured it was a good chance to test the limits of that plus my Summer magic.
no subject
[ It's both a good and a bad thing that Macaque has no idea about that blush. He'd be fascinated, he'd be nervous, he'd be every conceivable thing and it would not be conducive to the time Wukong asked for. ]
Yeah? Maybe I'll go out there and nab some for myself once I get a little more practice.
How hard was it? [ He'll take on a challenge and can just catch the nearest shadow out of there if-- wait. ] I heard those things can use dark energy. I wonder if my shadows would go haywire.
[ He's just thinking out loud. ]
[ His free hand does shift to run his fingers through one of the pelts, just idly. ]
no subject
It was a bit of a workout. But it turns out that being strong, fast, and disciplined isn't really a super power. Neither is carrying a weapon. They definitely can use dark energy, and I was being careful not to singe their fur.
I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. You're not careless in a fight...and you could probably steam them to death without ruining their pelts. It's worth it.
no subject
[ --Was that flirting? Did he intend for it to be flirting?? ]
[ Whatever moving on. ] That was almost a compliment. Look at us.
[ Macaque's free hand, apparently done appreciating the pelt, finds its way around Wukong as well. In such a way that it would be natural to use said arm as a pillow. ]
I'm sure I can get creative. How'd you finally swing it?
no subject
I might say some harsh things, but even I'm not going to imply you couldn't handle a pack of overgrown wolves.
Summer power come with some fun body manipulation. So I used that to my advantage.
no subject
Good. That you wouldn't.
[ A slight lull in conversation, but Macaque keeps on slowly grooming Wukong's fur. ]
What body manipulation? I haven't studied the other unit's powers as much yet. [ Hasn't he? He might be casting about for something to talk about... ]
no subject
[To demonstrate, he extends it around the walls of the room, expands the thickness, and then undoes it.]
Nothing I couldn't already manage, but it's less effective here than me using summer magic.
