Quest Catch-All and Other Things
WHO: Kaeya Alberich and you
WHAT: Catch All for October
WHEN: All of October
WHERE: Wherever the quests are, otherwise Sunwaning
WARNINGS: None, but I will update should that change.
Fashion Favors
[Kaeya did enjoy trying out new fashion trends, but a quest where he had to create something himself? Color him intrigued! Also, the fancy signs helped. While the style he was assigned wasn't exactly something he knew the definition of, once he was shown the options he had to try and get creative with, then the ideas started flowing.
He pocketed the assignment and went about browsing the fabrics and accessories. He had only been to Sumeru a handful of times and it was closest Nation he could think of for this kind style. He held up a pair of white pants with lovely golden embroidery to his waist to sort of eyeball if they would fit.]
Hmm, I think these ought to do...
[This is the outfit he will ultimately end up with.]
Sinking Treasures
[Like Kaeya would really pass up going treasure hunting. Okay, yes, he generally would if all it was just bits and baubles. But possible enhancement to clothes and armor? Now that was actually useful. So, he made his way to the Great Ocean Lake and towards the large island bearing turtle that had surfaced. He had been told that feed it snacks would also keep it aloft for awhile longer so he had a bag of treats with him as well.]
I think we have enough snacks for the turtle so allows us to obtain at least one of these treasures, don't you think?
[He could have probably done this alone, but where was the fun in that? He liked going with a companion for silly quests like this. It was also hardly dangerous, unless they get dragged under by the turtle. But he was confident that wasn't necessary.]
Training
[While he had not been lacking in training, Kaeya did feel like he hadn't done as much as he would have were he still in Mondstadt. The same also went for his horse, Umbra. For once, he was quite glad at how into sports and competitions Dayrise was known for. Kaeya didn't mind training, but he was hardly the type to get into random competitions with the folk here, no matter how good-natured they seemed. But today was different and he found a field specifically for archery and horseback riding. He set up several targets along a well worn track that appeared to be used for what he was already planning on.
Then, he selected a bow and a quiver strapped to his waist. Mounting Umbra, he fired a few practice arrows while Umbra stayed still. After making a few adjustments to his posture and where the quiver was, he nodded to himself with a "hyah!" and a nudge to Umbra's sides, they were off. Umbra rode hard and fast down the track while Kaeya shot at the targets in rapid succession. They all hit the target, but not all hit the bulls eye. Still...]
Hooo...~
[He reigned Umbra in as they cleared the track and turned around, trotting back so he could collect the arrows to try again.]
Better than I thought, but I think we can go a few more rounds to do better. What do you think, old girl?
[Umbra nickered and bumped her nose on Kaeya's outstretched hand, just before he nabbed one of the arrows. He chuckled and patted her neck.]
I thought so.
[They continued to make their way back to try again, nodding to any who happened to also be there for practice.]
Kaenya - Locked to Ayato
[Kaeya in cat form was a grayish blue domesticated cat. The blue-tinted cat was becoming well known in Sunwaning, although Kaeya did find it amusing that no one really put two and two together in all his time here. Why, you ask? Because while Kaeya was in cat form, his eyepatch changed with him! It became small enough to fit his smaller body and managed to stay on with ease.
Never the less, it was definitely interesting running around Sunwaning as a cat, the culture seemed to adore cats and often offered him food and free scritches. Kaeya was lapping up all the attention and it was definitely a lot more relaxing when like this. It also made gathering intel and scoping out the area so much easier when you looked like some random stray cat.
Although, he did have to be mindful when running across anyone who actually knew him more deeply than an acquaintance. So far, the locals had yet to make the connection but that didn't mean someone from Mondstadt or Teyvat as a whole wouldn't! Of course, that didn't mean he was always successful in his stealth...]
Wildcard
[I also have Kaeya on the Full Moon Mingle. If you want to do a different quest, just hit me up! I don't have a plotting comment, but you can DM me on Discord, here, or Plurk

[Kaeya couldn't help the small huff at the mere suggestion. But he did look chagrined (again) at Hijikata scolding him about his slow learning of his powers. Instead, he pulled out a couple of the snacks he brought along for the turtle and set it onto a disc of ice to glide over to the large creature.]
I was simply focused on mastering fire, I had not thought to look into what else there was to learn yet. Not everyone learns at the same pace. Especially one as conflicting as fire and ice.
[It would always be the excuse he would fall back on in order to not get into the true reason for his inability to have learned it at a faster pace.]
no subject
Alright, then learn now!
[Charming as ever... he's already lifting another rock - a huge boulder this time -, but lets it fall back down right away since there's nothing hidden underneath. He moves straight on, away from the "beach", towards the centre of the island, and telekinetically pushes up the leaves and boughs of the trees to reveal anything hidden in their shade.]
Ah!! Look!
[There actually is something shiny stuck in the crown of a palm tree! Hijikata uses his telekinesis to pull and twist it, but it's firmly lodged.]
I guess I'll have to climb up there... or do you have a better idea?
no subject
Still though, the guy was like a kid in a candy shop. Adorable.
Kaeya shook his head with a sigh, may as well let the man do all the heavy lifting if he was insisting. But when they got to the shiny onject stuck in the palm tree, he tilted his head and looked at it from a few angles. It certainly seemed pretty stuck in there. It was a little hard to see what it was, too.]
Don't bother, just lift me up with your power and I'll get it out.
no subject
...
Okay, but you've got to try and hold still. It's easy to get toppled when you're being levitated.
[It's really hard to levitate people! He tries nevertheless, his boisterousness replaced with serious focus. Kaeya will find himself lifting off the ground and gradually floating up towards the treetop... hopefully he can stay upright!]
no subject
[Kaeya didn't make any sudden movements, arms outstretched and looking actually very natural. Once he was high enough, he reached out to grab one of the huge palm leaves.]
I got a foot hold, you can let go.
[The canopy was large enough to hold him while he dug out the large jewel. Oh my, it was lovely! A deep blue sapphire, it looked like. It certainly fit in his hand so he pocketed it for now for safe keeping.]
I got it. Stand back.
no subject
You can keep that one!
[It matches Kaeya too nicely to take it from him! Hijikata resumes his efforts to uncover further artifacts, lifting rocks and the branches of bushes, and he collects a few more old coins before suddenly stopping on a whim and taking his pokéball from his pocket. A moment later his rotund Pignite is there to keep them company! He crouches and affectionately squishes the pig's cheeks.]
Hinobuta, we're on an island searching for treasure. Help us out, okay? You have a good nose! Search for anything made of metal!
[The pokémon gives a confident, affirmative grunt and tromps off to help.]
no subject
He held out the blue jewel.]
Are you sure? You found- Oh! And who is this?
[He knelt down where the little pig monster was sniffing out a push, giving it's cute butt a little poke.]
no subject
Despite its recent evolution, the Pignite still only as tall as a kid (albeit a whole lot chunkier). At the poke, it oinks in surprise and turns around. It saw Kaeya, but wanted to follow its trainer's instructions first before greeting him! Now, though, it happily takes a moment to sniff him and blink at him with its round eyes.]
His name is Hinobuta. He's been with me for a few months now.
[It speaks for Hijikata's vigorous training that the pokémon evolved so fast, but to his credit, he didn't pressure it. He just wants it to become strong and capable so it can accompany him on more quests! While it was still a Tepig, he had to be more careful not to expose it to too much danger (though honestly, he wasn't always perfectly responsible with that).]
no subject
Because Mihoyo made him unfairly prettyKaeya couldn't help the soft laugh as he let the Pokemon sniff him. He kept still, not wanting to startle it any more than he already had.]
Ooooh, is he one of those monsters that came out of that vending machine in the mall?
[The timeline sounded about right and he had seen a fair few of these creatures around.]
1/2
[It's still bewildering for Hijikata that they were able to get their hands on pokémon here - that's a big name crossover!! - but then again they're all being crossed over with each other to begin with... sometimes, it's easier to not think on the other side of the 4th wall too much.]
I'll tell you more about him later, but let's focus on the mission now! Everybody, split up!
[He's clearly still determined to make the most of the time left! His telekinetic efforts don't yield any immediate success besides a few more coins, though...]
2/2
Oh, wow!! A treasure chest! Good work, Hinobuta, I wouldn't have found that!
[He helps his pokémon heave the wooden box out of the earth. It's not a huge chest, but not too small either - it's about the size of a pet carrier.]
How do we open it? I'm pretty sure we won't find the key so easily.
no subject
[Kaeya couldn't help the chuckle, not really willing to argue with the man. He went in his own direction to look for treasure, even trying to practice the apparently telekinesis that he had and didn't know about until today.
Not that he could manage much. Alas. But when he heard the excited noises nearby, Kaeya went on over to where Hijikata and the Pignite were. He knelt down in front of the chest to study for a moment.]
We could always pick the lock. Assuming it isn't a trap disguised as a treasure chest.
[Of course, he didn't exactly have any lock picking tools. How about you, Hijikata?]
no subject
You haven't mastered your telekinesis abilities yet, so how about you try to get the chest open while Hinobuta and I search for more treasure? But if you don't think you can do it, let's leave it here for now and pick it up on the way back to the boat!
[At this rate, they don't have too much time left before the turtle will descend into the depths of the Great Ocean Lake again. If Hijikata were the one left in charge of the chest, he might forcefully break it with telekinesis, or maybe melt a hole into one of its corners with lava, but perhaps it may be most sensible to take it to a locksmith back in the city!]
no subject
[Meaning that no, he couldn't do it. Kaeya didn't even have to think about it and he would rather not make a fool of himself. He sighed and stood back up.]
Let's leave it for now. I'll go feed the turtle some snacks so we can buy ourselves some more time.
no subject
The turtle is very pleased with a second round of snacks and clearly enjoys them, but in the end Kaeya can't buy the group more than a few extra minutes. When the "island" starts rumbling, Hijikata needs his help carrying the chest, with most other items he and the Pignite found stowed away in his Hammerspace Purse.]
This sucks!! Why'd I have to run out of mana?!
[Maybe, just maybe, it's because he used telekinesis without pause for a couple of hours! If he levitated the heavy chest now, he'd get dizzy in no time, and Kaeya might end up having to haul him and the treasure to the boat. That wouldn't do!]
