🌸 sunshine, she's here, you can take a break
WHO: Everyone!! :D
WHAT: A get-to-know-you-together!
WHEN: end of August
WHERE: shinrin-yoku, Sunwaning
WARNINGS: None for now!
[ The past week, Ayaka and Aether made an announcement on the network, inviting everyone interested to make friends and meet new people to the shinrin-yoku teahouse the following weekend. Well, this is it! The time has come! ]

Welcome
🌸 shinrin-yoku seems like a simple tea house upon entering, with a large wooden sliding door that's already opened for guests to enter.
Ayaka will be the one to personally greet her guests, offering three possible areas for seating– the traditional Inazuman set up, the space for where you can let your legs down and not kneel while seated, or outside in the gardens. Familiar faces may be abound, and guests may like to walk around and see the interior, perhaps even say hello to the manager who is walking around and sniffing people here and there.
For future endeavours, Ayaka informs guests that they may use the shinrin-yoku for business gatherings and meetings. Members of Ayato's committee are more than welcome to use the shinrin-yoku, and may even become a place for exchanging information and the like. The tea house promises to be a safe place to all.
And for this particular gathering, Ayaka is not only serving tea, but also sake. It never hurts to make things more fun!
Konpeito, Truth, or Dare
🌸 All guests, upon entering, will be given a small clear glass container. They will also be presented with a giant bowl containing konpeito. They must take at least one, and as many as they could possibly want, and put it inside their own container. They are told not to eat any for now, but no one's really stopping them from doing so!
At some point during the occasion, a game is announced. Everyone is told to check their konpeito and count how many they have! Now, they must pick a partner and play a couple of rounds of truth or dare with them. Every time they get a turn, whether they pick truth or dare, they can eat a piece of candy!Or eat three or five at the same time Once they've had five rounds, though, then they have to choose another partner and start over until they've finished their konpeito bowls.
There is an added rule to the konpeitos, but not necessarily required to be followed! A white konpeito must have a truth or dare related to family, green for a "favourite", yellow for love or sex, orange for childhood or childlike-ness, and pink for "hate".
Ringo (Ayaka's Eevee) and Taroumaru will be watching people and make sure they aren't cheating! Though sometimes, they may not be looking, and can even be bribed with snacks. Participants who can finish their konpeito in an hour (which we'll conveniently handwave) will receive a box of sakura mochi to take home.
Introduction Bingo
🌸 Guests are given bingo cards to fill up at some point during the afternoon! Pens are also provided, or if they have their own, then that's cool!
Participants may put someone's name twice on any of the squares, but more than that, and it won't count. The objective is to get a blackout by filling out names of people who fit the description! How one does this is completely up to them. They could even slip it into their conversations during the truth or dare games, or just randomly walk up to people and ask them things.
Two Twists and a Lie
🌸 A card is given to participants for them to write two truths and one lie on it, then they have to pin or stick it to the back of their clothing. When someone wants to play, they must first challenge you to a game of janken. If you win, you get to turn the game around and guess which is the lie on their card. If they win, then they're entitled to one guess! If they get it wrong, you have to play janken again.
So, what happens when the person gets it right? The person can now make a rule that the other person has to follow. Whether it means they have to call you "Master", end all their sentences with "yes, please", or some other rule that you can think of! And in case you can't think of anything, there's a box nearby with cute props that you can make the loser wear: cat ears, a cat tail, bunny ears, a bunny tail, a raccoon kigurumi, and some goofy glasses.

I assume you won some acting contests?
[He also looks for that jewelry... did a certain someone put a ring on Tsumugi already?]
no subject
As for what Hijikata's thinking... ]
That's right. There were a couple during my school days, but more recently, my troupe won some act-offs against a rivaling company.
[ Which was really big for him, evident in how proud he sounds even mentioning it. ]
no subject
He doesn't miss out on the pride in Tsumugi's voice regarding his troupe's contest victory either.]
I didn't know theatre troupes had rivalries like schools or sports teams, but it only makes sense, hm? Congratulations on coming out on top!
no subject
He chuckles, a tad sheepish. ] Thank you very much. But there's no way I could've done it without everyone's support. [ Says the main lead of both plays. ] The first time, it was to secure a future for our theater company. But more recently...
[ He rests a hand against his chest. ] The last one was personal.
no subject
[Did Tsumugi have beef with a rival actor?!]
no subject
Both of the act-offs were against the same troupe: God Troupe. From what I know, their director had a grudge of sorts against Mankai Company, the troupe Izumi, Kazu-kun, and I are from. They had tried to sabotage the Autumn Troupe's first play, but were unsuccessful. Then, shortly after I joined, they challenged us to an act-off. If we won, we'd receive the money we needed to pay off our debts. But had we lost, we would've been forced to disband. We ended up winning, but by a narrow margin. [ But considering God Troupe's reputation on Veludo Way, and that more than half the cast consisted of newbies... yeah. An impressive feat, to say the least. ]
As to why the second time felt more personal... Several years before joining Mankai, I had auditioned for God Troupe alongside a friend. He'd passed the auditions, but I hadn't. The director, Kamikizaka-san, told I didn't have the talent to stand on stage, and at the time his words crushed me. It even led me to quit acting for several years.
[ For a moment, he looks... thoughtful. That part of his life had been hard. But had he not gone through that, where would he be now? Who would he be?
So now, and even back then, he's able to look at that part of his life with no regrets. ] But even though I knew I belonged on stage - that I wanted to keep acting, with all my heart - I couldn't forget his words. I felt like I had to show Kamikizaka-san how much I'd grown, or else I couldn't be truly confident in myself.
The monologue I performed at the arts festival was part of that play, actually. It represents everything the actor known as Tsumugi Tsukioka is capable of... [ He smiles small, knowingly. ] including defying everyone's expectations.
no subject
['God Troupe'? Seriously? They must have egos like local 'God King' Ozymandias!]
The director sounds like a piece of work, too.
[Hijikata can only imagine how disheartened Tsumugi must have been at his words. How would he have felt if he hadn't made the cut to be part of the Shinsengumi? (Not that he ever actually had to worry about that, being the Commander's best friend and right-hand man, but, you know!)]
How'd you guys end up in debt, though?
[That, along with the sabotage attempts, almost sounds like some mafia bullshit!]
no subject
That's also a long story... [ And one that feels less his place to share, given how much it's about Izumi's personal life. ] It's a debt Izumi inherited, and had to pay off within a year. When I joined, the deadline was just a few months away.
[ He rubs the back of his neck. ] When you think about it, it's incredible what she accomplished in such a short time. [ he's so proud of his bestie :") ]
no subject
What you accomplished, you mean. All of you, as Mankai Company.
[Does he really have to give him the Power of Friendship talk?]
no subject
Ahaha... I suppose you're right. Though I don't feel like I can take too much credit.
no subject
[Give yourself some credit, Tsumugi!! No humility allowed!]
no subject
no subject
[Is the qualified to judge that? Maybe not, but he still means it! He may just be a regular audience member (and a more uncultured one than average at that), but he can still tell that Tsumugi's range is impressive!]
What sort of trouble did you cause, though?
[Surely he isn't a surprise delinquent..?!]
no subject
that's the autumn troupe]Well, back then I didn't have a lot of confidence in myself... [ and you have an abundance of confidence now, tsumugi??? ] And the day before closing night, I ran into Kamikizaka-san. I- won't repeat what he said, but his words got to me.
[ "Don't you feel ashamed to stand in front of an audience like that? Because you certainly should."
He takes a breath. ] And as a result, I made a mess of our second to last performance. I didn't think that the actor Tsumugi Tsukioka was good enough... so instead, I tried to act the part like my friend would've.
It didn't work. It was by far our weakest performance, and I ended up worrying everyone. [ He rubs his neck. ] In the end, everything worked out alright, but for everyone else it added stress onto an already stressful day.
[ Not that he'd go back and rewrite history if he could. He knows it's a part of who he is - a pivotal point in his, Tasuku's, Mankai Company as a whole's story - but also... ............... ]
no subject
Tsumugi-kun, don't ever let anybody tell you that you're not good enough. We aren't all good at the same things - sometimes not event at the things we really want to be good at -, but you should never try to turn into somebody who isn't you.
[Clearly Tsumugi learned that life lesson already, but a reiteration can never hurt!!]
no subject
Thank you, Hijikata-san. It was a hard lesson to learn, but an important one. [ He wouldn't point it out himself, but in these quiet moments of maturity, he really shows why he's the leader of Winter Troupe. ] I told myself after that performance to not lose sight of myself again, and I’ve made good on that promise.
no subject
[Clearly Tsumugi succeeded at completing a pivotal character arc!! Much as Kamikizaka grates on Hijikata even just second-hand, he's glad that Tsumugi told him about his past struggles. He feels like he understands him and his passion and dedication better now. However, they got side-tracked from the game!]
...
I reckon we should find more people to fill out these bingo cards with, hm?
