[ his pulse is off the charts. if he doesn't calm down he's probably going to faint. physically he's... "alright". there's a definite subtle red tint to his skin, but it doesn't seem to be harming him in any way. ~~anymore~~. it kind of looks like the result of his having had stayed out in the sun too long recently. ] I'm not physically okay. I'm not any kind of okay. Mentally. Emotionally. I don't want to do this right here. Please Tighnari.

[ There's the slightest of sighs. He does understand, he does. Tighnari considers for a moment before taking out a serum from his pocket. ]

We'll go, once you take this.

[ It should help calm the nerves. No, it's not alcohol. ]

[ kaveh eyes the serum warily. ] ...ah, al- alright. [ he hesitates, although he might not normally. he trusts tighnari, but his throat hurts, and he's worried about agitating it. still, he reaches out to take it... one last lick of hesitation before he throws his head back to drink the entire thing in one furious gulp. ] Al- Alright, let's go. I took it. [ it does start to work pretty effectively - beginning to calm him down almost immediately, but that doesn't stop him from wanting to leave... and now. ]

I would never give you anything harmful, Kaveh.

[ Now he holds the blonde by the shoulders. Moves to stand the both of them up proper. Gently, Tighnari leads Kaveh to where the fox had been camping out. ]

Let me pack this up, all right? It shouldn't take long. I came here immediately after I heard what happened.

...it's not that. My throat hurts. [ as does everything honestly. ] I just, I... [ even though it's been a few days since he died it feels like it only happened a few minutes ago. kaveh's hand rises to his throat and he slowly closes his fingers around it. ] Alright. [ his hand drops all of a sudden and he nods, following tighnari to his campsite. ] How did Alhaitham find out? [ since he imagines he somehow managed to put 2 and 2 together. ]

I have something for your throat too.

[ Though this one seems to be a candy that he is putting into Kaveh's palm. Then Tighnari sees to packing everything up. As a Forest Watcher, he has to be able to set up and tear down in a mere matter of minutes. ]

To be honest? I didn't ask Alhaitham how he found out. It didn't matter to me. All that did was getting here.

[ kaveh manages a small smile at that, since tighnari always seems to come prepared⁺. he takes the candy and pops it into his mouth as he watches him dismantle the campsite. ] I guess it doesn't matter. [ he grabs at his own arm, tightening his grip on it as he moves several steps closer to his friend. ]

I'm really glad that you're here.

Or that's a conversation for the two of you. He was... Hmm. I'd say worried, but you know him better than I. His expression didn't necessarily change or anything.

[ But since he fetched both Tighnari and Cyno? That would indicate that he cared enough to get people that Kaveh needed around him. He hadn't really went at it alone. ]

You'll be all right, Kaveh. If nothing else, you're surrounded by people that really do care about you. We aren't going to just leave you.

I do. I know he's worried. [ he can feel the concern radiating off of alhaitham even if his expression and demeanor don't seem to have changed all that much. they have though, but that's probably because kaveh knows all the little nuances of alhaitham... just like the reverse is true. ] ... [ kaveh avoids saying anything immediately to that. they're here now, yes, and that's all that matters. ]

...and I appreciate it. We, we can go now, right? We can talk more once we're out of this place. It's just giving me the creeps...

Yes, yes we can. I have everything that I need.

[ So! He's going to hold his hand out for Kaveh to take. A little bit of guidance. A bit of comfort. Something solid for Kaveh to hold onto. Or, if Kaveh really wants, he'd be allowed to grab and hug at Tighnari's tail.

Just to help ease the nerves.

Either way, whatever Kaveh chooses to do, Tighnari is going to take them back to Kaveh and Alhaitham's home. ]

[ kaveh takes tighnari's hand and moves unbelievably close. if he could barnacle onto his friend he might, but he knows that's not going to make for an easy walk back, so this will have to do. he'll probably reach for his tail if/when he's got to recount what happened for tighnari. he'll probably need to know exactly what happened to be able to properly help him. ]

I'm glad that our venture into that abandoned house didn't end like this. [ he squeezes his hand, his own trembling. ] I don't want to see anything like that happen to you.

[ Tighnari will want to hear it, but only when Kaveh is ready. Until then, Tighnari will be there to support his friend. Whatever healing needs to happen, the fox will be there. That's just what friends do and Kaveh is a very good and special friend. ]

It could have, I suppose. [ He squeezes back. ] All this means is that when we are venturing out, we'll just be more prepared.

I thought I was prepared, but I really don't know if anybody could have been prepared for that. [ he sighs, setting a hand on his face. ] But I'm definitely going to make more of an effort to over prepare now.

[ he swallows thickly and squeezes his eyes shut, the world spinning around him. ] Ti- Tighnari, I feel sick... [ he pushes off him suddenly, stumbling off to the side and dropping to his knees to heave. ]

[ Tighnari doesn't know what happened... So therefore he doesn't really speak on that subject. He's not the sort of person to give platitudes just for the sake of it.

But he does feel for Kaveh. So the moment he says he is going to feel sick, Tighnari stops. He stands beside Kaveh and holds his hair. Rubs his back. ]

Let it all out, Kaveh.

[ there's not much to throw up at this point... it just kinds of hurts as his stomach seizes each time he heaves, and he's reminded of how badly the noxious gas the thing let out hurt. ] ...I'm, I'm pretty sure that, that in there... it did something to my insides, ... [ he's almost certain that, among the blood, he was starting to throw up his liquefying organs. ] It was killing me from the inside... and, and the outside...

[ Even so, Tighnari is just there. Gently rubbing Kaveh's back. Being the supportive friend that he is. ]

You don't need to talk about it if you don't want to, Kaveh. I can come up with a few ideas based on what you've said already.

[ But they don't need to discuss it now. Kaveh can have the time he needs to recover from all of that. ]

...alright. [ he nods and wipes his mouth, staggering to his feet. ] I'm sorry, Tighnari, I'm such a, I'm such a mess right now. [ he shakes his head and uses his other hand to wipe away the tears spilling down his face. ]

Don't worry about it, Kaveh. I'm not thinking anything of it. Rather, I want you to get back to the safety of your home or mine so that I can watch over you properly. So you can rest.

[ He's being gentle at the moment, of course. But at the same, Tighnari isn't going to allow Kaveh to be an unruly patient when the time came. But right now care is needed because there's clearly trauma here.

For now, he'll wait until Kaveh is ready to move again. ]

...m- mine. [ he mumbles under his breath. ] I'll be better as soon as I'm home. [ he's sure of it. he's quiet as tighnari brings him home, but as soon as he gets in the door he meanders over to the couch to collapse. ] Everything hurts, Tighnari. It feels like... like I'm still dying. Like I'm caught in between... [ he knows he's not explaining himself well enough. ]

[ Once he has Kaveh settled, Tighnari is already preparing something calming and soothing. Like tea. Of course there will be more in there than just tea but Kaveh doesn't need to know all of that either. ]

Hmmm. Maybe because part of you is still stuck in the moment. I'd tell you that it's over now, but mental and emotional recovery usually takes longer than the physical.

[ He places the tray on the table and sits next to Kaveh. ]

But you will recover. You have an exceedingly strong heart, Kaveh.

...maybe. [ probably. ] But what if, what if I'm forever stuck in the moment, ... [ he's already assuming the worst. this is bothering him so much that he really isn't sure if he's ever going to be able to pull himself out of this abysmal rut. it's just going to continue to swallow him like all of the guilt he carries around with him. ] I just... [ he takes the tea, lifting it to his lips for a sip. ] Mm. [ he's taken out of the moment briefly, shutting his eyes and taking a much needed deep breath. ]

Thank you, Tighnari, but... [ is that going to be enough? ] I'm going to do my best, and I know that with you guys by my side it'll help that much more.
