I haven't been in contact with anyone since.
[ There is a pointedly lack of saying what Alhaitham feels on his side as he heads for the coffee table in the room to write what appear to be notes. ]
no subject
[ he takes his hand back when they reach the coffee table, eyes looking over the notes as he considers his next move. ] And how were you feeling then compared to now?
no subject
[ If Kaveh had refused to be in contact with him, he'd planned to speak with Cyno or Tighnari since either of them would understand it from a clinical point of view. But given that he wasn't sure of his own reaction to others at the moment, that could have been an event of some annoyance. ]
[ Somehow, in spite of everything complex between them, some things were just simpler with Kaveh. ]
The desires I had at that moment are more muted than they were this time. I struggled with controlling them before, but now they were manageable.
[ By some definition of struggling, anyway. Alhaitham's notes are clean and precise, primarily documenting conversations he'd witnessed over the network system here. ]
no subject
...mm, I noticed that too, but it could have just been because we're getting used to it. Not to mention we had been significantly closer... [ and more intimate. ] This is a start, [ he takes a seat beside him and turns, moving to push him into the plush cushions. kaveh follows, caging him in with a hand on either side of his head. ] but we need to run a few more tests.
no subject
Oh? Do you have your own tests in mind now?
no subject
[ he doesn't give him a chance to answer, and instead kaveh just kisses him. he hates to admit that it feels just as good, which is not the answer he had been hoping for. that means there's something else at work. ]
no subject
[ Clearly not now, with Kaveh's mouth over his own, and this time he's more than aware he can't attribute it to Kaveh being touch drunk again. He was annoyingly sober, a fact Alhaitham had been literally faced with, so the only thing driving Kaveh right now was whatever wild ideas he was having and his own fervor. ]
[ Well. Fine. If Kaveh is going to be so insistent on kissing, then they'll kiss. A head reaches up to cover over the back of Kaveh's head, keeping him from pulling away as Alhaitham finally returns that kiss instead of laying there like a dead fish. And pointedly ignores the jolts of pleasure it immediately sends through him at his own retaliatory action. ]
no subject
[ finally breathless, he breaks the kiss, ripping his head down to catch his breath as he sinks down to lay on top of alhaitham. a bad idea, probably, but smushing his face against his chest is the only way he can hide his blush at the moment. ]
no subject
[ Or maybe it's just Kaveh that messes with his ability to approach everything to do with the man rationally. ]
[ It's probably both. ]
[ Alhaitham's more than a little out of breath when the kiss breaks, unused to it himself, but he does apparently gather enough back in him to say what needs to be said. ]
Now you're feeling shy?
[ Or to be a smartass. ]

[ That hand on Kaveh's head gently removes itself, Alhaitham letting it fall to the side lest he start following such mindless temptations like running it through Kaveh's hair. Kaveh is free to move whenever he wishes now. ]
One possible theory is that our continued close proximity to each other before this in Sumeru had an effect on our reactions. Another is that our visions, genetic make up, or temperment have some influence in the matter. Tighnari would be a better resource for investigating that.
no subject
Do you think that means that Tighnari and Cyno are having similar issues. Although, if our visions are somehow responsible for the added difficulty, then… perhaps not. [ no comment on temperament, because that is definitely a factor. ] We can ask him, but… maybe later.
[ he sits up, his hand on alhaitham’s chest and he feels his restraint crumbling. he squeezes, most definitely trying to pass it off as a result of his moving. ] W- What’s the rush?
no subject
[ He grunts at the sudden touch to his chest, about to reach up a hand to catch that wandering one- he does not want to be anymore distracted than he is now by simply having Kaveh laying on top of him. Unfamiliar body heat pressed against his own is all sorts of distracting and strange and yet there's a comfort to it that does make him wonder if this is simply something between him and Kaveh or if it's a remnant of some childhood comfort he had, like the way he would fall asleep with heavy texts on his chest as a child. ]
[ But before he can formulate any theories around that, Kaveh, ever energetic as always, quickly moves on to finally sitting up and- ]
[ Kaveh that is harassment by all textbook definitions. ]
[ Alhaitham is fixing him with the most pointed look now. ]
You keep fondling me.
no subject
That last one had been a bit of an accident. [ implying the first hadn’t. he has a choice to make, give up or double down. ] If… you don’t like it I can stop. [ kaveh finally looks at him with more intensity than he might have expected, because he’s searching for an answer likely kept beneath all the logical and rational thoughts. ]
You can’t deny it’s… different. [ between us, that is. ]
no subject
[ What's difficult is putting his finger on the answer he'd like to verbalize. The way he tended to act around Kaveh and treat him was certainly his usual self but there was a difference to it at the same time; it was almost as if he got pulled along with Kaveh's rhythm more and more often. He'd long ago regarded Kaveh as a mirror of sorts, a reflection of a way of thinking that opposed Alhaitham's and an approach to life that, if observed, would expand his own way of thought in spaces he normally wouldn't. ]
[ It's fascinating in a way. So of course, he can only answer one way, simple but clear in its logic when faced with the facts. ]
Everything is different with you.

[ he doesn't know what, exactly, makes his relationship with alhaitham so electro-charged, but no one makes him feel so intensely about anything. the good, the bad, & the ugly. it's all always amplified when he's with him. this place just made that fact more obvious. ]
[ the silence that hangs between them stretches, becoming a bit too much, so he says the first thing that comes to mind. ] Does that mean you don't want me to stop?
no subject
[ A dozen emotions may be going through Kaveh's mind but Alhaitham's at the moment is quite simple, satisfied with how that single sentence was able to convey his thoughts with apparent efficiency. ]
It means you should ask first.
[ We're not dropping that consent issue Kaveh. ]
no subject
[ he leans in until they’re nose to nose. ] I will, now answer the question. Did you like it?
no subject
Which part are you referring to?
no subject
no subject
Those are two parts, Kaveh.
One I did. One I'd like more if you asked before doing so.

Hah. What sort of scholar would give such an open invitation?
You have permission to kiss me at your discretion. Further actions will require advanced notification or a negotiation.
