[Open Log] Moving in like a Pharaoh
WHO: Ozymandias and You
WHAT: Moving into Solarpeak and the birth of Sphinx Awlad
WHEN: Early May
WHERE: Solarpeak
WARNINGS: Will warn if needed.
EXTRA: If you want to accomplish CR so your character can visit him without worries, but we haven't had a chance to thread yet, feel free to poke me on the handwaved CR meme. The Sphinx Awlad have been promised to a few of his CR, but they can be interacted with. In the future there may be more kittens - and he usually gives them to his concubines as guardians.
1. Moving Day, Solarpeak

Somehow, Ozymandias had managed to find himself a house that looks like a pyramid, in a more secluded area of Solarpeak. It's small and would never compare to the might and glory of Ramesseum Tentyris but it would do. Especially if he'd expand enough. For now, it would do and he was finally ready to move in.
There are several sphinxes moving in furniture that he's bought. So that may be a sight to see in the district street. Ozymandias himself is sitting on a chair made of stone, watching the process with a tropical drink in his hands.
2. Visit the Pharaoh

Maybe you're curious about the house since it is a little different or you've been invited by Ozymandias to see the house for yourself now that it's finished. What waits inside is a living room full of places to just relax. There's definitely a lot of comfy pillows and while the ambience is usually made darker to fit the mood, the curtains can open and a lot of natural sunlight can flow in.
Most likely you will meet the pharaoh there, just lounging on one of the couches. If you were invited, you have free access. If not, you will phase a guardian sphinx that's the same species as the ones that helped him move.
The house does have a second floor but those are his private quarters and there are sphinxes guarding the stairs, too.
3. Sphinx Awlad
On the Solarpeak beach there seem to be three small sphinxes that look like walking galaxies. They have no eyes and their beans glow a bring green or blue light. Ozymandias is watching over them while sitting on the sand, making sure they're not getting into any trouble as they explore the new unknown world.
Occasionally a kitten walks up to Ozymandias and starts climbing him instead. He smiles, giving the kitten chin scratches once it's made its way up.
"To think more of you would be born... Ritsuka better be taking good care of theirs."

he's been behaving well andthings have been pretty peaceful Dojima agreed to split up (provided they stay within reachable distance from each other). He convinced Hijikata to take the waterfront (definitely not because it holds even less of a potential for accidents, given how leisurely the boats move along...), so it doesn't take long for the policeman to come across Ozymandias and his little sphinxes.]What the hell, did your summons have babies?!
[He just blurted that out without thinking (or saying hello first). He remembers the huge cosmic sphinx that almost eradicated him with lasers in his first clash with the pharaoh all too well, and these look like much smaller versions of it!]
no subject
They are clones of Sphinx Wehem-Mesut, formed by my magical energy. They don't possess the same abilities when they're this small, however, so they aren't dangerous if that's what you're worried about.
no subject
[How would anyone even think of that?! He's baffled. Did this smug sun king feel that an ordinary shelter pet wasn't worthy of his grace?! This is making him so pissy! But he bottles the feeling up as well as he can. He really doesn't want to get into a huge altercation with the Heroic Spirit again; it'd only get him in trouble with Dojima and potentially Harrison (if Ozymandias wouldn't first send him to the Flower Yard with his arsenal of options).]
no subject
[Even Pharaoh's make mistakes. The important thing was to admit to it. Though he is not ashamed that it happened. The sphinx kittens were cute and would make lovely gifts.]
no subject
...
You cloned your superpowered sphinx by accident?
[And still he wonders why Hijikata is always so high-strung around him?! Even if these little clones are harmless (for now!), this Servant is so goddamn overpowered!! Hijikata nevertheless tries to gather up some politeness.]
Look, I have no idea how long it'll take for them to grow up, but please put them wherever you keep the big one before something happens, okay?
[Look at that, he asked! And he even said 'please'!]
no subject
[It's an outright refusal.]
They will remain in the world as normal. I will be giving two of them to my concubines and keeping one myself. They will grow when they will, but they won't do anything disastrous on their own. They listen to those I tell them to.
no subject
Well, Ozymandias-- [He pointedly only calls him by his name and not by any titles!] --, I sure hope that your almightiness is truly as endless as you believe it to be. It'd be a real shame if the little beasts went berserk and anything happened to your concubines.
[It practically makes him taste bitter gall that any such incidents are unlikely to occur (and for the better, really, because he sincerely likes Kitsuno and Napoleon and wouldn't want either of them to be hurt), because once again Ozymandias will be confirmed in his high opinion of himself. Of course these creatures obey him perfectly, and anyone else he assigns them to as well!! Is there anything that doesn't go his way?! (Sure, the pharaoh just told him that the small sphinxes' creation was an accident, but the only consequence is that he has even more magical beasts to command now, and pets for his concubines as a two-in-one deal!)
If Hijikata were able to take a step back from his resentment of the Servant he could perhaps acknowledge that the risk does seem low, given the presumed lack of incidents with any of the other sphinxes so far, but it Ozymandias' righteousness and ego piss him off so much, he could be eating soup and Hijikata would give him a nasty look for it.]
no subject
I am their master. They will obey me without a doubt. On that there is no doubt. You may not believe me since you want to believe the worst will happen. Or maybe you even hope it, just so I get put into bad light. Your opinion isn't what matters here as it changes nothing.
no subject
We'll see, Ozymandias. If you're right, then all the better. If you're wrong, it'll be an exciting new experience for you.
[I bet no one has ever told him he's wrong in his entire life, even if he was!! I bet no one had the guts! He turns to march off before the tension in the air boils over into something worse - much as he wants to throw hands with the Servant, he knows it wouldn't end well in any regard. (The little sphinx, faceless as it is, is kind of cute, though... not that he'd admit that out loud.)]
no subject
Ozymandias doesn't say anything since it would clearly just irritate Hijikata more. Instead he continues to watch after the kittens and relax.]

And by the time she got back, she had an invitation to go and visit his new home. Ah, that must have been what all that noise was about...
...She manifested quietly near the outskirts of Solarpeak and walked from there, soon arriving at what she believed to be the right location- ah, yes, she could sense his presence nearby. This must be the right place.
Time to approach the door, she supposed. The last time they'd met, they'd kissed thanks to that rain...hopefully that would not make this too awkward.
"...Ozymandias?"
no subject
"Medusa. I'm glad you made it. Come on in and sit with me on the couch."
It's a very nice and comfy couch after all. His voice is the same as always. Confident, a little smug, but also very relaxed. He has drinks on the table as well as some fresh fruit.
no subject
Whilst she couldn't appreciate the impressive exterior, those comfortable sofas were certainly rather nice. He chose well. And how big even was this couch? She felt out a little on her other side to try and find out, only seeming to find more cushions. Once she'd settled in, a small part of her would certainly want to just stretch out on it...
Well, for now she turned her attention back to her host, turning her head a little toward him.
"Thank you for inviting me...are you settling in well?"
She got the feeling from their first meeting that he had been struggling to find somewhere that quite suited his rather grandiose tastes.
no subject
"Quite well. I can make something decent out of this place with time, so I am optimistic this was a good choice to make." He will miss having a roommate, only because he's not used to living entirely on his own. But he would manage somehow.
"Have you thought about moving yet?"
no subject
With how many giant statues of himself and his wife/concubines?"Good. At least you are comfortable here." Both in that she was glad that her friend (?) was content, and also in that it meant he was less likely to go around causing chaos with his pyramid. That also brought up another thought- if he was settled perfectly fine here, then perhaps there really were no negative consequences from living in an area opposed to one's alignment.
"...I have been here for two months now, so they have started asking for rent on my Apartment. I should probably move sooner rather than later, but I...did not want to leave right away."
It was perhaps sentimental, but she had been somewhat reluctant to move away quickly. After all, if Sakura came back, she'd need to know where to find her.
"The Summer-aligned Segments have pleasant weather. I am glad Winter-aligned like us are not forced to stay in the colder areas of the city and segments."
no subject
He needs to find a good sculpter first."The starter apartments are decent, at least. Spent as much time in them as you need as you find the place you truly want to settle in. It's an important step to making sure you are comfortable in this world while we're here." It took him a while to find this place, but he had been lucky.
As for the seasonal alignments.
"It would have been outrageous to force us live where our seasons are. It's already ridiculous to be aligned with the wrong season."
no subject
I mean, if he really wanted, Medusa is rather good at making surprisingly lifelike statues very quickly...The consideration was appreciated, and she gave a small nod in reply. She would start looking sooner or later, once she felt ready to move on. "...they are sufficient for my needs, yes, now that I have taken the time to remove the mirrors." She'd had a little help with that, but it meant she could be a little more at ease there. The last thing she needed was to leave a risk around that could lead to her petrifying herself.
"But yes, it would be...me, you and Oryou do not fit this season at all. It is uncomfortable." She didn't complain much, but she's almost certainly cold-blooded, let her have this grumble. She really didn't like the cold.
no subject
"Next time you come for a visit, I will make sure all the mirrors and reflective spaces are gone, so you can look around you here", he proclaims. It's not really a bother. He has plenty of mirrors in other parts of the house. There's no need to for them in the living room.
At the complaint he scoffs. "I can forgive them for putting myself in Winter, considering I am just a man. But putting someone cold-blooded in a season of cold is outrageous."
no subject
Just one of those times when people were treating her with far more respect and thoughtfulness than she was used to. Where she could not be sure how to react.
"I...yes, so long as you can keep yourself safe. I do not wish to petrify you," she said quietly, as she found her words. "...But if it is not an issue for you, then- then I would like that."
And she appreciated him for hearing out her complaining, too! "It is- But, if we do not have to live there, I wonder if our assigned Segment will affect anything else aside from our Magic? If it is anything like which Classes we manifest in, then there might be other affects we have not considered yet."
She hoped not, but couldn't be sure with a world like this. She knew enough from talking to Napoleon that there were other manifestations of herself as different Classes, and that each one represented a different 'aspect' of her. What did it mean to be 'assigned' a Segment, really?
...Maybe she was overthinking this.
no subject
Ozymandias thought about it. He hadn't really visited "his" Segment yet. It was way too cold to even consider. But... at some point it might be a good idea to at least see what it was like.
"I don't know. I have yet to test what the Winter segment is like. I would hope we wouldn't feel as cold as others, if we go there."
no subject
Well, she got along just fine, and Ozymandias' offer brought a small smile to her face in reply. If this were to become a place she could relax easily, she would like that. "...I see. Thank you, then."
As for the Winter Segment-
"I have been on a couple of Quests there...it is unpleasant, but less so than I expected."
no subject
"Hm. I see... perhaps I'll venture out there myself, one of these days. I can always take my ship back if it's too much."
