🌉 Bridge of the Lost

[ The bridge quest seemed harmless enough so Shigeru was more than happy to help get to the bottom of the mysterious request to check it out? He might be humming a little to himself only perking up once someone arrives at the bridge’s beginning. He’ll give a wave, and smile, before typing something on his device. ] Are you here for the weird bridge quest?! It is shining weirdly, but like, that doesn’t mean it’s dangerous…right? I can keep us safe, so don’t worry about that at all! I’m more interested on what the heck is causing that light.

[ Says Shigeru who will regret his words in a short while. ]

🦋 Wings of a Butterfly

[ When he heard about the fact that these butterflies take you to the cherry blossom parks?? He is so down for that! He really wants to get his hands on some of those petals, since they seem really strong and potentially useful for healing potions and the like. He sounds like he’s in some sort of video game, what the heck?! It’s only when the butterflies finally descend that he’ll look towards whoever with a smile and thumbs up. ] Let’s do this! I can’t wait to get my hands on some of those petals! They sound like they’ll be really useful for people to use if they get hurt.

[ Shigeru is more or less rather enthusiastic to ride on a giant butterfly also. ] This is also a first for me. Have you ever ridden on a giant butterfly before?!

🩸 Blood Bloom

[ If there’s one thing Shigeru is pretty good at it’s fighting weird and creepy monsters. Back home Treanpires aren’t a thing but living trees that suck your blood were too good to pass up. Despite the morbid state of the overall quest Shigeru seems to be in high spirits? He’s a weird one, sorry, but he looks ready to go as he has his sword and shield at the ready, both glowing with an eerie purple light that matches the strange look of his eyes (black sclera with purple irises), he might give a smile to whoever is with him, jerking his head in the direction of where the quest indicated to go. ] Be on your guard, we don’t know what these trees can do. Being the root of the problem let’s hope they’re all…bark and no bite? Otherwise, things might get a bit thorny, but I can protect and heal us, no problem!

[ Shigeru can you fuckin not?? He’s really pushing his luck right now!! ]



🌧️ Little April Showers

[ Rain is one of Shigeru’s least favorite things in the world!! Well, there are a lot of things that Shigeru is not a fan of, rain was harmless, but it felt gross because who knows what kind of germs can stick to you when you get soaked, disgusting. He had to go out shopping though, so this was his curse for not liking to eat take-out or from restaurants. Shigeru does have an umbrella with him that he is very much using and on his other hand are his groceries for the day, once he’s put all his food away, he might return outside to just…sit on a bench nearby and listen to the rain. He does love watching and hearing it, he might also take out a pad and pencil and begin to draw with fervor as he smiles and nods.

This flower picture is one he’ll be giving to Nen since it seems like the other would enjoy the fact that this flower apparently changes colors in the rain. Every now and then a little droplet or two gets on his skin but he seems perfectly fine for now. It’s only after the sun starts to set that he’ll head back home.

It’s at this point that he’ll be scrolling through his device and randomly run into someone, the umbrella falling right out of his hand and that rain will now be getting him and whoever else soaked. Highusih! ] I’m so sorry!!! Are you okay?! I wasn’t paying attention…

[ But he sure is paying attention now as that rain starts to work its mojo. ]

Sorry… [ Is he staring? He sure is staring… ]

I'm not worried! Because you're here, mister Shigeru. [ He says, not because he knows of his fighting prowess, but because he feels so warm and comfortable with Shigeru during their drawing lessons that clearly that's going to translate here, right?

[ Oh! Kenta was here? Shigeru can't help but feel warm and smile in the presence of the young man. He's very...cute he wants to say but he just smiles brightly back at him and nods his head in understanding. ]

Then let's head over together! I can't wait to see what might happen.

[ Were it anyone else, Kenta would be reaching his hand out to his. But since it's Shigeru, he grasps the air between them. ]

Yeah! [ And off they go! Kenta's looking around like the curious boy he is, both to try and find the source of the glow (because Shigeru's curious!) and to see if there's a pretty view he might want to try drawing later.

But nothing seems obvious yet, so he starts to turn toward his companion. ] Have you found anything, mister Shigeru?

[ Oh! This guy. Shigeru smiles wide a brightly at him. ]

I think we might've talked before. You're the person who asked about touch over the network, right? [ Is what he types and allows the other to read before looking back at the huge butterfly idly shifting in its position before them. ]

[ This is 3000% post-vines, so Nen? Looks pleased to see Shigeru out and about when they happen upon him at the bridge. Not that they're not happy to see him anytime. but there's this extra little...kick to it now. Kind of like when the plants were going at...him...but muted. There's just more.

Nen doesn't wave him him, but they do meander right on up to see if he's casting any high-level magic this fine day. ]

I am not here for a quest. But I will go with you.

[ ...to protect him, since he uh. Didn't do so well with the whole 'fighting' thing during vinequest. ]

[ Shigeru was not prepared. Admittedly...he has been avoiding Nen because of that damn vine quest, and he knows he shouldn't be?? But-BUT it was super embarrassing and Shigeru actually let Nen see him like that and they even got him off and just thinking about makes his face burn up right away!! Hhaujfahwu!

So, yeah, Nen will be seeing some really high-level magic for a few moments before Shigeru huffs and turns away a bit. Keep it together, Shigeru!! ]

[ Super-embarrassing for him, Nen feels quite fine after that whole vinequest business. If anything, they've been more keen than ever to see him again, so how fortunate that today is the day they run into him. They have so many questions--

But first: gotta enjoy that fine display of magic. Man, does Shigeru look good like that. Makes Nen's stomach feel all warm and pleasant. ]

[ Saya always has her sword with her and ready. Shigeru's gives her a moment of pause, not because he uses one (he mentioned he could fight, briefly) but because of the way the light infuses it. Much like the blood channels in her own sword, which she has no need to use here. ]

I think that's rather the point of those suckers, hm? [ She's no Ellie but she loves a good pun. ]

More than one point, perhaps. If you can get a flower bloomed from my blood, it might help with whatever tests you want to do given that my blood degrades so quickly in its natural state. And the rest of what my blood creates, I negotiated a better price for them.

[ It doesn't sound like something he'd normally condone, but if Saya can heal and she seems pretty okay with it, who is he to really judge her? ] Well okay, if you're sure. I can definitely get a few flowers off of them before it gets too dicey.

I don't want them to, but that's how you'll get the flowers. Having something like that drink my blood goes against everything in me. Desperate times, though. Right?

I'll probably pass out fairly quickly. Anemia is my one physical weakness. Just haul me a safe distance away and call my husband or someone else I know. [ She figures Shigeru might not want her drinking his blood. ]

O-oh! [ To be fair, the person Shigeru walks into also wasn't paying attention. And Tsumugi will admit as much, as he reaches down to pick up both of their fallen umbrellas. (how cliché...) ] I'm okay! If anything, I should apologize, too... I wasn't looking either.

[ He offers Shigeru's umbrella back with a smile, the lightest dusting of pink on his cheeks. ] You're not hurt, are you?

[ Shigeru is still staring but when he finally realizes this and is spoken to he just looks away, clearly flustered, and just shakes his head 'no' at the question. He'll take his umbrella back with a gloved hand before typing something in reply. ]

I'm fine. Thank you for asking. We...should get out of the rain. [ Yeah they're both getting soaked, so, probably for the best. ]

You're right... [ Before they both stand and stare at each other for too long like morons. ] Can I help carry your groceries?

[ Doesn't usually mind rain himself, but today? Today it's too warm for the rain to be anything but muggy, and he was already fanning himself absently with one hand when the bumping happened and knocked his hood back.

[ An apologetic half smile, which then goes more apologetic when he sees who it is. ]

Don't worry, I've got gloves on. See? [ Holding one palm up. So no need to fret about the fact that he's touching your umbrella, which is definitely what you're still worried about right now. ] We should get under an awning, though.

[ Sorry Yuri Shigeru is still a flustered mess just because that's how he be, but also this rain sure is doing a number on him. He might look sheepish as he takes the handle of that umbrella with unsteady hands. He does want to wash it with the alcohol wipes in his bag, but he's going to resist the urge for now. Under an awning, right, he nods and then moves quickly to go underneath the nearest one.

His cheeks are still pink as he looks at Yuri's chest if only briefly. Hm. That is not where he meant to look, so he just coughs and looks away abruptly. ]

[ Ugh, he had thought he could get his mind off things with a good fight? Why were there others here? Is that how these quests worked?

Wait, what's up with those eyes? He's kind of paying more attention to those than anything coming from Shigeru's device. So yeah, he's just staring intensely at him right now. ]

[ He sees you staring, Wolf!! Shigeru might look away briefly as those strange-looking eyes of his blink. ]

Is everything alright? Do you want to go back?

[ They still have a little ways to go, but maybe the other doesn't want to talk because of his appearance? ]

[It would seem the two of them share a mutual disdain for rain. Rosen was never a fan of it even when he was mortal. Back then, they didn’t have umbrellas or the like in ancient Ireland. The best anyone could do is wait patiently for the storm to pass or just brave the rain. Even after a thousand and so years, it’s exactly the same. You could either wait for the storm to pass or just brave the rain. Not one to let a little bit of foul weather get the better of him, Rosen decides to do the latter in hopes of getting a few necessary chores done. He can go a couple of days without food but right now his refrigerator at home is barren. So, guess who’s going to shop for groceries. He could’ve just had his groceries delivered to his place but if there’s one thing Rosen hates more than rain, it’s being cooped up at home for extended hours of the day.

He was just idly strolling down the street with his fancy black and silver umbrella at hand when he accidentally bumps into someone. Rosen arches his brow a little in surprise since it’s not everyday someone catches him off guard like this. He’s usually a bit more aware of his surroundings than this but lately, Rosen has been a bit distracted as of late. With everything going on here in town in company with Saya’s situation, it’s a bit understandable why he’s been so distracted. Nevertheless, he can’t help but look a bit annoyed.]

You mean to tell me you have two extra eyes and you still can’t see?

[That snippy little quip was a little meanspirited but he meant nothing by it. Eager to go on his merry little way, Rosen pauses for a moment once he realizes the blond is staring at him. He blinks his eyes owlishly in confusion as he stares back at them.

What’s…going on here? Rosen isn’t entirely sure but it’s kind of odd–wait.]

[Probably at one of Saya’s impromptu karaoke parties but admittedly, Rosen didn’t do much socializing that night.]

[ Hhgsehsi! ROSEN! Please! Shigeru is flustered enough as is, no need to call him out! Shigeru looks away immediately because he sure was staring somewhere just now, HM. He hates this a lot. He fidgets in place and does nod. ]

I think we met...at the karaoke night? [ Shigeru is pretty forgettable, so he's really not too surprised if the other doesn't remember him. A lot was happening that night. ]

[Upon seeing this quest being advertised, Duval knew he needed to look into it. He had no interest in fighting the Treanpire, but he is very, very interested in studying them. Especially those blooms that can be used for potions.

Why oh why does he keep running into or being paired with weirdos, though. They're all too eager to fight.

Duval meets Shigeru with the most unamused stare he can muster.] Do whatever you want. I don't care as long as I can harvest some flowers before you kill it.

[... although, this weirdo could prove to be useful if they don't happen upon a monster already in bloom.]

[ Shigeru is all smiles, despite his rather strange appearance, as he nods and gives Duval a thumbs up. ]

Don't worry! I'm after those too, we can work together! Do you have any combat experience? If not I can distract and you can get the flowers off of them before it gets too dangerous.

{ the quest itself seemed simple enough this time, and given he's used cherry blossoms in his own development before getting to level 90 is painful it definitely seems reasonable for the quest to require selling some for profit.

Would it be a good idea if we had a code with some gestures to use while we fly? In case you need to stop or change direction?
