[ When you head to the location of Yuri's GPS ping from yesterday's network post, you'll find a rented-out little karaoke bar with MAID FOR YOU written on a handmade banner that is temporarily covering the bar's normal name, decorated in pink and black on the inside, with a lot of cute little two-chair tables taking up most of the floor space. There are rooms in the back that would normally be for singing karaoke in private, and singing with a maid is indeed one of the things you can do with those rooms today!

The real draw, though, is all of the very cute folks dressed as maids and/or butlers today, who will — for a small fee — wait on you personally. ♥

Take a menu, select a maid, and place your orders... or just ask Yuri what all the commotion's about, he'll be happy to explain! ]


((ooc: Maid cafe fundraiser! Don't worry too much about the coins your character is spending here, nothing is too expensive (though the black menu items are at a premium), we're all just here for the CR.

PLEASE NOTE: Yuri does feel personally responsible for the safety and comfort of all the Official Maids who are trying to help him raise funds here, so he will be actively trying to curb anyone bullying their friends into signing up, and he really doesn't want anyone working for him to be wearing or doing anything that makes them uncomfortable. Adult characters who only want to wear pink ribbons? Characters who want a full coverage maid outfit, or who want to be butlers instead? Excellent exercising of your boundaries, Yuri loves that for you.

You can, however, definitely pay for the "dress up as maid or butler" menu item and use that to bully your friends to your hearts' content. 😉))

Yes, well. It was an unconventional place. [ Mostly the forced idol work but also the torture. ]

I'm not sure it'll be seasonal here, that's probably a question for Yuri. I think this was just to get operating costs handled, but there's always a chance. One hopes that from there it'll be that we earn money by taking actual jobs. Although private events could perhaps be an unexplored option.

Well, regardless if it does or doesn't, I'm glad that I could partake in it. A historic moment to be remembered in the future, perhaps.

[ sabo's mostly joking. he doubts that all of this will be historic but it'll be a fun story to tell anyone who joins at a later date, especially so if the guild grows. he'll hum for a moment before responding. ]

There are plenty of people here who are looking for help with one thing or another. Where it be the quests that the natives here ask or something more personal... I'm sure we'll find work for ourselves. [ he'll tilt his head at her. ] However, what kind of private events are you considering?

If we can be that memorable I'll be thrilled. I'm sure Yuri will, too.

[ It does make for a fun story. She remembers the maid cafes in Tokyo-F fondly. ]

Oh, whatever people ask for. It seems the otherworlders here have a tendency to plan get-togethers and occasions. Surely a group of servers or entertainers would be useful.

I'm sure. [ give him a moment to have a thought. hmmm. his voice will trail off towards the end. ] I suppose it would be out of character for a maid or a butler to cause much of a scene. At least, on their own.

Well, if that's the work we end up picking up, I'd be doing something different than what I'm used to once again—not that I'm complaining. I just hope that I won't disappoint anyone.

...A scene? What do you mean? [ She's not difficult to lose, mentally, so perhaps she's not following. ]

You know, disrupting the peace or natural order in a place. [ not that he knows what that exactly is here. ] Generally doing something that would be memorable with just how different it is from how things are normally or attention grabbing.

But something like that isn't proper for a maid or a butler to do.

.......I know what a scene is. My question was more, I wasn't following what you were thinking might cause a scene.

I'd say it depends on the maid or butler, anyway. We're not servants here, we're entertainment.

Just from how things are right now? I can't imagine anything too wild unless something were to go terribly wrong in the kitchen. [ but then that'd pose a different kind of problem. ] However, if someone came in who was rather rowdy and one thing lead to another...

[ he'll let his voice trail off and for saya to fill in the blanks as he mulls over the idea of being considered "entertainment". hmm. ]

Can't it be a little bit of both?

[ She's sort of amused by this entire conversation. Being dressed in a skimpy maid outfit makes a scene in itself, and that's sort of the point. People are paying them for looking pretty, among other things. ]

It can be whatever you like. And rest assured I can fight perfectly well even in this getup, in case a scene should happen to require it.

[ they are certainly a sight, for certain, but that's part of the charm of the whole situation, isn't it? ]

I've learned to never judge someone's battle prowess by the way they dress—plenty of experience with people who have tried to use it to their advantage.

[ ...there's a high chance that he probably takes this a bit too seriously but it is what it is. ]

But if we're leaving it up to me, then I'll make it a bit of both. I want to leave a good impression but I'm not entirely too sure about how I feel about purely being someone's entertainment.

In that case, it's both. [ Far be it for her to define what this is to anyone. ]

We all have to draw our own lines about these matters. What's important is being here to support the guild, not specifics like that.

Yes, you are entirely correct. [ he'll have a soft laugh. ] However, it'd be bad if I were to accidentally leave a bad impression on others about what kind of guild that we were building together.

[ and really the heart of the matter: ]

Especially if you all are more familiar with one another than I am.

Well, I certainly know Yuri more than the rest of you. But then he and I were brought here together, more or less.

We were all brought here in a similar way...but I suppose you mean that you and he came from the same place before this.
