welcome home
Who: Venti, Yuri, Saya, Lumine, and Kantera
What: A moment of respite
When: March 4th
Where: A house at the far edge of Blossomcrown
Warnings: Probably mentions of previous game trauma/violence
[ Venti has always been the type who wanders to the beat of his own drum, dipping in and out of people's lives as easily as the blowing wind. But Tokyo-F . . . changed things, somewhat.
Though his initial instinct had been to sleep under a tree and call it "home," an invitation to live with old friends put a halt to those plans. For starters, it would be protection from the unpredictable weather in the segments. For another, maybe he did get used to having a bed and a room to call "home," in no small part because of the teammates and friends who inhabited it with him. Now that solitary tree feels . . . lonely, in a way it didn't before.
And so here he is, standing at the threshold of a house full of people he loves and trusts, who asked him to stay . . . it makes him feel his age, but not in a bad way, for once. Nor does he feel that nagging urge to disappear into the wind.
Should he catch anyone watching him, the pensive expression dissolves into a smile. ]
Hehe, is this the part where we fight over bedrooms?

It's not every day that you get to spend time with a dear friend long-passed.
[ Though -- it could be every day, here. ]

It's still rather strange to think of it like that.
[She is, after all, still very much alive in her own time...]
But you can spend as much time with me as you'd like, you know.
no subject
Don't be overly generous . . . imagine just how much of your time I would be able to waste. Especially since I know you'll make yourself busy in due time.
no subject
Oh, come now. Have you ever known me to be too busy for you?
[Even at her most busy, right in the middle of overthrowing the aristocracy that had Mondstadt in a chokehold, she would always make time in her day for Venti. She gently pokes the back of his head while they walk.]
Do you have glasses in your office, or are we just sharing the bottle?
no subject
Need I remind you of your favorite mantra, "not right now, Barbatos"!
[ Which, to be fair, was probably because he would show up in the middle of most reasonable people's workdays to bother the Grandmaster to pick flowers with him, or something. (But perhaps reminding the workaholics to take breaks is also a duty of the god of freedom)
Once they reach the outside, he holds out his hand for her to take(?) ]
Anyway, who needs glasses? That just wastes time that could be spent drinking.
no subject
[Often, she'll admit, but she would never turn him away when he really needed her for something! Pulling her away from her daily duties to pick flowers or sneak to the local tavern doesn't count... and even then, he still got away with it sometimes.
When he offers his hand she takes it without a second thought.]
Ah yes, the five seconds it takes to pour would be a terrible imposition. [She chuckles, and once they have found somewhere to sit down she works on opening the bottle.] Luckily I don't mind the sharing.
no subject
Sharing a bottle is like a bond of friendship! Or something?
[ He just made that up ]
It feels like that, anyway.

[The bottle pops open and she has a mouthful herself before she passes it over. It's not bad wine at all, though admittedly her palate when it comes to good wine is not as refined as the person sitting beside her.]
I can think of no one else I would rather share a bottle of wine with.
[Then she reaches up and ruffles a hand against the top of his head, because that is just how you treat Mondstadt's archon, right?]
