[ Venti has always been the type who wanders to the beat of his own drum, dipping in and out of people's lives as easily as the blowing wind. But Tokyo-F . . . changed things, somewhat.

Though his initial instinct had been to sleep under a tree and call it "home," an invitation to live with old friends put a halt to those plans. For starters, it would be protection from the unpredictable weather in the segments. For another, maybe he did get used to having a bed and a room to call "home," in no small part because of the teammates and friends who inhabited it with him. Now that solitary tree feels . . . lonely, in a way it didn't before.

And so here he is, standing at the threshold of a house full of people he loves and trusts, who asked him to stay . . . it makes him feel his age, but not in a bad way, for once. Nor does he feel that nagging urge to disappear into the wind.

Should he catch anyone watching him, the pensive expression dissolves into a smile. ]

Hehe, is this the part where we fight over bedrooms?

You mean to say you were so happy for us that you didn't even bother looking at Curcuma?

[ He is too startled by the assertion that there's someone else here he missed to respond more convincingly, looking left and right for...? ]

[ She holds her hand up, and the little bunny-eared glob of golden light zips away from Repede to zoom in three circles around Yuri before it settles against her open palm with a chimy-chirp. ]

[ ...okay, yeah, that's. Pretty obvious and eye-catching. ]

Startled isn't the same thing as unhappy.

I think I know what 'startled' looks like on a person's face.

[ The smile slips a little, and Yuri pushes out a breath, turning to give Repede a scritch. ]

...You're really stubborn, you know what? Heh.

I don't have a better answer for you, though. I was startled. Shouldn't've been; I knew you two had a thing. [ Rubbing the back of his neck. ] We could've saved a lot of money only getting three bedrooms, though.

[ Of course, he's saying this because he doesn't yet know that one of the spare bedrooms is For Blood, ]

Two extra rooms isn't a bad thing. It's space for guests if we want to have friends over, or a space for hobbies or extra storage.

[ There is one other reason it's useful to have--but it might not be the best idea to bring up the possibilities of fights and estrangement or breakups. ]

[ Is he relaxing a tiny bit? He might be. Still isn't sure what's got him tense in the first place, though. ]
