A. April showers part 1 - from the TDM

[ The days following Elliot's arrival, he goes around exploring the city. When he first gets caught in the rain, he's found Blossomcrown Park. It's warm out, so while he does have a coat with him, it's hanging over his arm, and he's wearing a plain white shirt, a black vest and black pants. His sword is hanging from his belt.

He doesn't much like the surrounding area, but the park is nice, and he's honestly having a nice time when the downpour happens out of nowhere. ]

ACK--!

[ He quickly puts his hands over his head, and runs for the nearest tree to at least get some cover. ]

B. April showers part 2 - from the TDM

[ For the rest of his explorations, he procures an umbrella (a simple black one), and after forgetting it once and getting caught in the rain again, he makes sure to keep it with him at all times.

Then there are the jellyfish, which an umbrella can't exactly protect you from. He doesn't fully register the one that floats past him, but it's right in front of him and he unthinkingly swats it out of his face. Which it doesn't really appreciate, and returns the favour by stinging his hand thoroughly. ]

OW--!

[ He takes a step back, then swats at it again, more strongly this time. The effect has already taken root, of course, and the red symbol for a throbbing vein appears over his head as he goes so far as to put his hand on his sword. It's mostly just reflex, though. ]

What kind of rain is this?! What's wrong with this place!

C. Shopping

[ The second order of business, after exploring, is to start building up a wardrobe. Elliot doesn't really want to wear what he was wearing back home, or what he arrived in Ellipsa in, so it's only two days after arriving that he heads out with his monthly allowance to go shopping.

He remains within walking distance of the starter apartment building, and explores a few shops that don't carry what he's looking for. So, eventually, he turns to ask someone. Could be inside a store, could be on the street outside it. ]

Isn't there somewhere that has proper clothes? This is all so ... plebeian.

[ He only hesitates for a moment, wondering if that might be a bit too rude to say, then just decides to do it anyway. ]

D. Post-training

[ It only takes a few days for Elliot to march into the Summer Guild and sign up. He wants to learn to use this magic he's apparently gained, he wants to make himself useful. Most important of all, he wants to keep busy.

Which is why he can eventually be found practically stumbling out of one of the training rooms, having depleted all his magical energy together with a lot of his regular energy. He did bring water, which he'll take a mouthful of, but not snacks. It's probably been a few hours since he had anything.

Someone gives him a concerned or questioning look - maybe it's you, maybe it's someone else - and he gives them a glare in return. ]

[Having been on the receiving end of her commoner-class countrypeople's indignation more than once, Frieda all but cringes at Elliot's assessment of the local fashion. He shouldn't say it like that..! At the very least, she's still not fully back to her initial plain outfits (usually consisting of a unicolour long skirt and buttoned white blouse), instead still wearing a somewhat frillier dress to go with her trusty parasol.]

Plebian..? What do you have in mind? Are you looking for bespoke designer clothes?

[Those would, in fact, be an option!]

Except not really. He's just glad that she doesn't decide to make a fuss about it and seems willing to help. ]

Eventually, sure, but right now I just need more clothes. I guess I should just get something to tide me over but I don't want to spend the little money I have on clothes I don't like.
