【OPEN MINGLE】TECH CLUB [Jan - Feb]

WHO: Technology Club members, those who may potentially be interested and any visitors.
WHAT: Technology Club mingle
WHEN: Mingle all throughout January and February
WHERE: Technology Club
WARNINGS: Should be none, but if anything comes up, let me know and I'll edit as needed.

TECHNOLOGY CLUB
Welcome in and enjoy your stay - official meetings take place once a week, on Fridays after 1 PM!
The Technology Club holds its meetings in a building close to the Welcome Center, for ease of access to both newcomers and old members alike. The room itself is rather simple: there are several rows of modern day computers as well as several long tables in the center for people to sit down and work on their projects.

Up front is a projector that is open use as well as a whiteboard.

Next to it is the introductory notes on a posterboard for everyone to read:

WELCOME TO THE TECH CLUB!
Everyone is welcome, no matter what your skill level is, just as long as you're interested in learning! Feel free to share any tech you might have found interesting here in Ellipsa or anything you've regained back at home!

If you have any questions, please ask the club leader, Inaba!

RULES OF TECH CLUB
1. You are free to use the computers however you wish. However, if you look up any R18 stuff, be warned that there will be consequences to your actions. :)
2. Damaging any of the property will result in an automatic ban from the premises as well as a fine to replace them.
3. Generally speaking, you get three warnings before a ban, exceptions may be made depending on the infraction.
4. Have fun!
5. More rules may be added as needed.
I. THEME OF THE MONTH
Starting in January, each month will have a theme that members can participate in and base any of their creations on. While characters may present anything at any time, there will be a proper show and tell for the theme on the last Friday of the month. Naturally, participation is optional, but heavily encouraged on all fronts.

As for the themes themselves, January's theme is RESOLUTION, with the questions posed: what do you want to learn or improve on this year? Are there any projects that didn't work out in the previous year that you'd like to do better this year? What ideas or projects do you want to do this year?

Meanwhile, February's theme is LOVE. It is noted that 'love' can be platonic or romantic if it involves a person; otherwise, it can also be a presentation to show your enjoyment for technology or the club. Is there anything that you're working on for your loved ones that involves tech? Show it off!
II. INTRODUCTORY LESSONS
Every first Friday of the month is also Free Lessons Friday! Those who show up at the technology club on these Fridays will receive a basic lesson, similar to what is being taught at the Welcome Center in a classroom setting but a little more extensive, as it will cover things from various skill levels.

Each month will have a different topic of study and advertise the beginner lessons at the Welcome Center.

January's topic of learning will be SOCIAL MEDIA AND YOU, an extensive study on the various types of social media platforms that Ellipsa has to offer and how to utilize them well. This lesson will also include discussions on internet safety, social media influencers, how to buy items on the internet safely without being scammed, amongst other things.

February, on the other hand, will be teaching HOW TO BUILD A COMPUTER FROM SCRATCH - basically a completely hands on experience on understanding the parts of a computer, how each part works with one another, and how to piece them all together.

Of course, other technology club members are welcome to have the floor to themselves to teach other members and visitors a things or two!
III. MOVIE NIGHTS
Besides the show and tell on the last Friday of the month, it is also a movie night! This is when the projector is heavily utilized as a movie is played out; of course, the theme is still technology, so the movies tend to have something to do with that... to an extent, anyway.

Movie nights are highly advertised for all members to come and enjoy a fun time, as there will be snacks provided for everyone - there's freshly made popcorn, candy, and even drinks.

January's film will be an Ellipsan version of WALL-E while February's film is an Ellipsan version of Back to the Future.
WILDCARD
While the above prompts are a few ideas on how to utilize this log, feel free to come up with your own prompts as well and incorporate any event-related things as needed. If you have any questions in regards to the technology club, feel free to message me via PM, [plurk.com profile] tsundereban OR the unofficial Discord server.

Technology Lessons [Open]

This is where the lessons are supposed to be held, correct?

[Have a rather sheepish looking sorceress- who was carrying her device around in tablet form? That seemed a little inconvenient, but as it turned out, she'd accidentally switched it into the larger size and couldn't work out how to turn it back.

...Whoever was helping Caster out had a long road ahead of them.]

Honestly, why are these things so complicated?

Robot Projects of all kinds

[Previously Kazuichi would have been a lot more social and into everything happening at the tech club. He was, after all, one of the people making it happen before giving the project back to Inaba.

Now he was mostly in his own corner, fiddling with parts of what looked like a miniature robot series. All of them were more or less based on their classmates. Right now he was making a music playing one of Ibuki. There was also one of Hajime (that acts as a mini calendar) and one of Chiaki (that had an actual playable mini console on her), but he hadn't gotten to others yet.

Aside from the Gundham one he had given to Sonia last year, of course. Maybe he should do another of him at some point.

He did have drawings of a some fancy engine next to him, since that was his real passion and love. Or ... well, it was supposed to be. Some of the papers underneath it were scribbled with more horrifying things that have been smudged into messes. He should really toss them away, but something kept him from doing that.

Just like the bloodied wrench he had hidden in a box back at the apartment.

Occasionally he pauses what he's doing and just stares at nothing, mind racing in things he doesn't need or want them to race in.]

Freelancer Work

[The tech club was also a good spot to focus on some repair things that he's gotten from locals. Broken microwaves, smoking toasters, fax machines that just printed lewd pictures to the other side (who even uses fax machines these days?)

Depending on the week he most likely has a different (and likely very weird) project with him to solve and maybe improve.]

OOC: As a separate note, his Pokémon Varoom named Kikai, can likely be found from either of the prompts.

A Newbie Wanders Into The Frey! (Open)

It had been a few months now since Hakkai had first come to Ellipsa. And while the initial few weeks had been dedicated to getting his bearings and settling in, the next were simply set to reach out and understand the dynamic of touch energy and the powers and locations within the world. Which was exactly how he had ended up hap-hazerdly wandering into the technology club! It was one of the closest buildings to the Welcome Center, as well as his apartment after all, which made it quite the target of interest, especially with the big 'Newcomers Welcome' sign.

But it was upon going in that Hakkai most certainly looked and felt a bit like a lost lamb, unsure of what to do. And so he wandered, casually looking at each small group of people as they worked on one strange contraption or another. Some familiar, some completely foreign to him! And it was then that he couldn't help but curiously quip up.

"Do you mind my asking what it is you are doing?"

It looks interesting!
