Of course Max is coming to a music club. How could he not? Seriously. His title of Melody Mania wouldn't allow for him to willingly skip it. So he is here, sitting in a nice comfy chair, strumming the strings of his guitar. He is doing a quick tuning of it as he listens to the others talk about music.

"Everything sings, you know. Every atom hums. Every molecule resonates. Everything plays a tune."

"Is that because of your powers and stuff, Davis-san?"

Rinku munches on some deep-fried mushrooms and kicks her feet a little.

[melodymania]

"I can hear it all because of my powers and stuff, yeah. But it's true regardless. The smallest things hum and the entire universe with all its planets and starts sings too. The music of creation.

[roundandaround]

"Whoa... That sounds like some complicated physics stuff I'm never gonna get, but when you describe it, it sounds 「Happy Around!」 So that's what brought you to the Music Club!"

[melodymania]

Max grins. "Exactly like that." Max nods.

"Well that and I never give up the chance to sing Poor Unfortunate Souls when I can."

[roundandaround]

"We have that too! We're a karaoke place, after all!" Rinku nods excitedly. "Plus we always rent the biggest room for meetings."

[melodymania]

"Perfect. When we get to that point of the meeting then. What about you? You got a go to Karaoke song, Rinku?"

[roundandaround]

Rinku scratches her head. "Not really! I work here, so I try out a bunch of them. It's kinda like digging sometimes! Oh, that's when you go through boxes of records and stuff to find something you wanna put into a song or a mix. That's the 'dig' in 'Dig Delight Direct Drive,' and that's the 'D4' in D4FES! Except when it's not."

[melodymania]

Max chuckles and nods along to Rinku's rather excited explanation of everything.

"Hehehe. I see. So you can dig around in here to find those fun songs to sing, right?"

[roundandaround]

"Yeah!" She nods. "It's fun. Sometimes you get lost if you don't really know how a song goes, but that's why you gotta do your best with it."

Ya mean like... vibrations 'n frequencies 'n shit?

[That's the kind of thing that Chipp's not completely sure he buys. It makes sense on a scientific level - atoms are constantly in a state of motion, motion generally creates soundwaves, soundwaves have frequency and vibration - but so many people get way deeper about it, attributing it to souls and things...
Despite being literally a soul, Chipp just has a hard time trusting that whole idea.

[Max flashes a sharp toothed grin at the reaper and nods.]

That is a big part of it. What is music but deliberate vibrations and frequencies? But there are other songs too. Every person has a song. Their soul sings and vibrates their own unique song. I can hear those too.

[Of course, Chipp can't help but tilt his head at that, the eye on his screen looking at Max suspiciously...
But not for the reasons most would expect.]

Then how the hell I ain't deafening you right now?

[He is his soul, after all. Bared to the world. The surface of his skin is the surface of his soul -
Loud and electric and alien.]

[Max watches the TV head and it's LED expression with mild amusement on his face. This isn't the first person he's met with a TV on his head. Well, the other one it was his actual head but still.]

I'm good at filtering by now. Don't get me wrong, your song is loud. But so are the songs of a few others here. I just bend the waves around me. Create artificial distance. And layers. I got lots of layers.

Well, 's what I mean, layers -
Ain't the livin' 'round us got layers 'tween us and they souls, too? Skin 'n bones 'n shit like that.
That oughtta muffle some of it, I think...

[Last he checked, meat definitely muffles sound pretty well!!

Don't ask why he needed to check that.]

Depends on the person. Some songs are so soft all the meat and bones and blood and other fluids make it harder to hear.

For some, their song is so loud it blasts through crystal clear. Don't get me wrong. You are loud since there isn't a filter.

But I got layers too. Many many layers.

Have you always had a TV for a head?

[And now for something completely different.]

[Ah... someone doesn't want to discuss The Layers, huh?
That's fine, Chipp can understand that. Sure, he's assuming they're talking about viscera (a commonly uncomfortable subject for people who don't kill others), but still, he gets it.

As for the question... he tilts his head again the other way, his antennae flopping with the motion.]

[Oh he will talk about the Layers if you really want to, Chipp. Just it is gonna get gooey.]

I know a guy who has a TV for a head and you have that. [He points at said TV.]
