[1) Blossomcrown Park]

[As she often does in the afternoons before work, Rinku has come to Blossomcrown Park and is sitting on a bench eating popcorn from a vendor. However, this time, she's reading a thick, deluxe-size magazine with Ellipsan Weddings emblazoned on the cover and happily squealing over the images inside. She leafs to an ad spread with some gowns.]

Oh, this one's super fancy... but the simple one's cool too! Hey, what do you think is more popular?

[Yes, she's asking the nearest person, sparkles in her eyes shining.]

[2) Shining Karaoke (Music Club prompt]

[Speaking of Rinku's workplace, that's still where the Music Club meets! Rinku's booked out the biggest room for the club to meet in, and she brings in snacks ordered from nearby restaurants to set down on the tables.]

The Arts Festival went great! What do you guys think we should do next? Is anyone doing a live soon?

[3) A hospital in Nightwake]

[If you're at or around the biggest hospital in Nightwake, you might see Rinku talking with the receptionist and the hospital director in the reception area. They shake hands, Rinku does the Happy Around spin, and she does something with her phone and waves goodbye to them before walking out of the hospital with a spring in her step.]

[She immediately notices the nearest approaching person and runs up with a smile.]

Oh, hi! Hey, I just finished giving the hospital my kissing booth proceeds for last month. I'm trying to pick places to set it up this month until the rains stop! Where are some good places?

[4) Mega Waterland]

[Rinku may live very near the beach, but she still adores Mega Waterland. The wild river! The wave pool! The waterslides! Everything! So she's out here today (with her swimsuit tailored to accommodate her tail, naturally), heading to the event square, and runs right up to the first person she recognizes (or who just looks fun).]

Come on, they're starting the water gun fight soon! You wanna team up with me?

[Later, you can find her in the wave pool, cheering and swimming right up to ride the coming wave.]

This is so fun! Whoaaaaaaa!

[The water takes her up and along, and she cheers and rides the wave... until it sends her tumbling right into the nearest person. Does she crash into a hug? Bowl them over into the water? Accidentally marshmallow-hell them while bowling the both of them into the water? Whichever happens, it's likely to end up with everyone involved a sputtering mess.

Even so, Rinku pulls herself to the surface and smiles unapologetically.]

Actually, I've been getting some room expansion tokens! [Rinku grins.] I told Mary-chan we were gonna get another guest room, but I wanna add a pool too! I know we live near the beach anyway, but it'll be fun to swim indoors when it's raining or storming, and maybe she can have her classmates over.

Really, a pool? I've just been swimming in the sea regardless of the weather!

[When you're already wet, it doesn't matter if you get rained on!]

But I suppose it would be nicer for the little ones. Are there many otherworlder children? I feel Mary's the only one I've seen who's under fifteen.

[At 15, you're clearly not a child anymore but totally ready to take on responsibilities like the Founding Titan!]

There's not a lot, but there's a couple more! Do you know Emeth-chan, the girl with the dog? Oh, plus Mary-chan goes to school, so I want her to be able to have her school friends around.

Hm... no, I don't think I've seen Emeth. It's good to hear, though, that Mary's not the only one! How does she like school?

[Surely, she tells Rinku - and even if not, it's hard for a child that young to conceal her mood.]

I think she's doing good! She's getting awards and good marks and stuff, even though a lot of it is new to her. And I didn't hear any problems at parent-teacher night. ...I also didn't know if I should go to parent-teacher night, but her actual parent isn't here or anything, and someone's gotta.

[It's good to hear that Mary's doing well, but realising the degree to which Rinku has been stepping it up makes Frieda both proud and... wistful, almost. How can it be that Rinku's an adult already? In all her demeanour, she's still a child, happy and innocent - yet Frieda knows well how capable and competent she is, able to excel at vastly different types of work, from DJing over questing to her work at Shining Karaoke.]

Rinku, that was very good of you to do. You've taken on so much responsibility! If you ask me, being asked to save a world isn't half as daunting as raising a child is.

[After all, a child comes with love, and love comes with protectiveness and worries and, in times of duress, terrible fear. She may never had a child herself, but many of her predecessors did, and through their memories, she's gotten a sense of what a special bond it is.]

Really? I dunno. I kinda feel like I should be around more often. But Mary-chan has lots of people looking out for her, like you and Albedo-san and the neighbours too! So I think she's gonna be okay. Even if she does get really excited whenever I get back from questing.

Of course, that's when you bring adventure stories home!

[And souvenirs, dependings! But in truth, Frieda is convinced that Mary is simply happy to have her housemate back.]

What's the last quest you went on?

Hm... does going downtown to get Zapperpillars off stuff count? I've been doing that a bunch. Oh! If not, there was the Dark Albatross thing! It's kinda scary those guys are back, huh?

You went on the dark albatross quest?! How did that go?

[She's never seen one of those monsters herself, but she heard that they're vicious and as big as people!]

They're pretty scary, but I think we did well! I wonder why those guys are back again, though... What do they even want with people?

They're augmented monsters, aren't they? Doesn't their presence indicate that "the" people might be up to something? Or could they just have been left to roam the Segments?

How did you defeat them?

We just kinda tried to lure them out. They're hard to fight, though. You're right, we haven't seen the Nightshade and their bosses for a while. They gotta be planning something.

I don't know. The last few times we thought they were up to something, nothing ever happened... we never even found proof that it was them who set the trap in the mines, did we?

[Granted, who else would it have been? But there's no confirmation if whatever necromancer revived all those skeletons didn't also put the magic nullification in place, whether it was a spell or some kind of mechanism, and whether that measure was installed as recently as the mechanical panels or a long time ago.]

I dunno who all else would do that, though. And hasn't the Scientist messed with bodies and stuff before? Skeletons are bodies.

Hm... but even so, no one has been able to find the gate to the dimension we think they're hiding in, not even the dragons.

[As always, there's only one thing to do:]

All we really can do is make sure we're prepared for when they make their next move.

Yeah, I guess so... I don't even know why they wanna do all this stuff. I just hope we can change their minds.
