Meeting Macaque

Emeth looked at her mirror taking in her dress, it was apart of her and she could make it look however she looked. Problem was she wasn’t sure what would be the best. Monkey King wanted her to meet Macaque.

Macaque who was clearly very important to Monkey King. One of his mates even! She was still trying to wrap her head around that one. How did these royal families track their lines of succession? That wasn’t important, what was important was that she had to make a very good impression. He liked purple and didn’t like noise so she had already decided that Tiny would have to stay with the other animals. It seemed to be helping him stay calm and she didn’t want him barking at Macaque that would clearly be a bad start.

Which lead back to her reflection. Macaque liked purple, so she had made her dress purple, a light purple, mother always said dark colours looked bad on her. It was a little longer than normal too a little fancier.

Only having the emotions of guilt and anger to draw on lead to a lot of second guessing apparently, and so Emeth jogged off to look for Monkey King to ask his opinion on her attire.

Emeth giggled on cue.

"But Macaque is important to you, so I want to make the best impression I can."

She's really too cute for her own good sometimes. "You'll make a great first impression. I know you will." To further his point, he ruffles her hair.

Emeth "eeps" and tries to save her hair.

"Noooo I need to look nice." She whines before taking Wukong's hand and taking a breath to compose herself.

"Okay I think I'm ready."

"You say that like you don't always look nice."

Wukong takes her hand, giving a gentle squeeze. "Let's wait for him by the door. It's a nice day out." He leads her out of the room, his tail swishing cheerfully. Macaque should be here any minute.

[castaside]

Look at Macaque, preparing to knock on the front door all civilized-like. It's a small miracle, but he too wants to make a good impression as as much as he can get a kick out of scaring people out of their skin, this isn't the moment or the person for it.

He's learned that over his time here. He also feels much more equipped to meet a kid than he would have before his heart game. Even one younger than his two teenagers, and even despite the mild pressure he has on himself for this to go well. It's for Wukong, after all.

Macaque appears a few steps shy of the front door and approaches.

"Okay!" Emeth squeezed Wukong's hand back as they walked to the door.

Once it was in sight she skipped ahead opening the door... only to see Macaque on the other side of it.

"Er..."

Emeth blinked once, twice, you could almost hear the cogs turning in her head.

Then she did a deep curtsy.

"Good Morning! It's a pleasure to meet you today Macaque King."

She really is just too cute. And Macaque having that perfect timing to be at the door? He might as well have just portaled in. But it's definitely for the best not to have for the first meeting.

"You've got good timing," he greets, grinning at his mate as he places a hand on Emeth's shoulder. "We were just coming this way since the weather's great today."

Macaque looks as surprised as anyone when the door opens without him even knocking.

...'Macaque King,' is it? All right, then. He turns to the bowing girl and gives her a friendly smile, same as the one his kids get. Softer than his normal array of smarmy grins.

"Good morning, Emeth. It's nice to meet you. I like your dress."

Macaque stands to the side and waves them out. "We can walk around outside, if you want to. It would be a shame to waste the weather."
